Best burger in the Hamptons, also one of the cheapest. Their ice cream is also fresh and really good.

Love John's ice cream. Usually don't visit in the fall so was excited to see the pumpkin flavors. I got a large with pumpkin Oreo and raspberry chocolate truffle, which is what I usually order. The pumpkin Oreo was so good I wish I just got that since it's not a flavor you can usually get.

John's Drive-In is such a consistent burger spot. There has never been a time that I've visited that the food wasn't freshly made, hot, and satisfying. The workers are always trying to complete the orders as quickly as possible. They were polite and well organized. Yes during the summer months, it gets extremely crowded which makes it a bit difficult to eat inside, but there's nothing like driving down to any of their many overlook parking lots and viewing the beach. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat, I recommend giving them a try.

This place has very good food. Very authentic fried chicken, burgers, and milk shakes. We tried to get a reservation at harvest on fort pond but they were very busy so me and my wife went here to grab a bite before we went back to grab dinner later that night. I ordered a bacon cheese burgers, onion rings, and a vanilla shake that home made and the milk shake was amazing. John's makes there ice cream in house and it's out of this world. My wife got a chocolate shake which was amazing as well and an order of French fries. The food was made fresh to order and was one the best burger/ chicken spots I been to in a while. Very authentic fried chicken and burgers. You could smell the goodness brewing from down the block coming from John's. Definitely a great spot to check out if you're staying in Montouk. I ruined my appetite later on that night and didn't get to enjoy dinner cause I ate like a fat boy here and it was totally worth it. This place is a staple in Montouk. The staff are all family and black owned and very nice people. Def give these folks a try!

CASH ONLY! We stopped in for a quick lunch. I had the burger and it was meh. The meat to bread ratio was good but I didn't like the texture of the meat. I tried a French fry from the other person's order and it was good. I was watching my carbs so I stopped at just one.

Had a very nice burger and fries for lunch during a winter weekend in Montauk. Burger was very tasty and pretty good. Too cold to have ice cream.

I love the small town, beachy, nostalgic feel of John's Drive-In. I stopped here with a friend after climbing the lighthouse, strolling the beach, and shopping the town. The food hit the spot! It was a sunny winter afternoon, so we ate at one of the tables outside as the day began to wind down. It's now my go-to Montauk restaurant for a casual bite to eat. Highly recommend for the food and the feels.

Great experience at John's Drive-In this year. I ordered chicken fingers and fries and my husband ordered a burger. Everything is made fresh so you might have a short wait, but trust me, it's worth it! Our meal was delicious. A little on the pricier side, but that's to be expected in Montauk. This is a classic restaurant that I highly recommend dining at!

This place is the cutest! Not actually a drive in but a little burger shop. They have fries, chicken fingers, and homemade ice cream. My son loves chicken fingers and was so excited about the ones here in particular. Loved the beach vibes of the place and friendliness of everyone working. Service was quick too! One thing to mention is that they only take cash but they do have an ATM inside but prices are reasonable as well.

Unmelted American cheese on the Big John Burger with Cheese.

Is this the worst burger in Montauk? Enjoy 3 slices of unmelted Sysco-brand American cheese, a bursting mouthful of raw white onion, and a sticky squirt of mayo, ketchup, and relish. The classic cheap road-side burger, with the quality, flavor, and texture to match. If you're craving the familiarity of a hospital cafeteria cheeseburger, then John's is your spot. Your stomach will be rumbling and roiling from the experience as you drive away. Service was polite and excellent. Ambiance was akin to a prison's visitor lobby (note the faded, neglected decor and faint smell of disinfectant and grease).

The tacos were dressed with all the right flavors and additions you would expect from a top sushi joint. Excellent! We also had Moroccan spiced lamb sliders! Wow good! Perfect! Go to the Gig Shack just to get this! 100% worthy the trip. Id say the menu is somewhat surfer-fusion with California taco influence. There are lots of options. We are glad we tried Gig Shack and will return. Highly recommended casual, cool vibe location, with fantastic food!

Truly, the cocktails and menu at this restaurant are so inventive and flavor packed it feels as if there has to be something supernatural happening in the kitchen and behind the bar. We came here in early May and sat at the bar. Dillon took great care of us, walked us through the menu and made stellar recommendations all around. After having my mind blown by the Everything Bagel Martini, we moved on to share the charred octopus and Leggy's Thighs. The charred octopus was tender, and paired so well with the citrus fruits on this plate, plus the bite of pistachios?! So well put together. Leggy's thighs (RIP Leggy) were literally the best chicken I'd ever had, fall off the bone tender and topped off with flavorful furikake and hot pickled fresno chilis. We also split the Wagyu sando which I'm literally still thinking about. Wagyu on milkbread?! What an excellent idea. Live acoustic music was going on the night we were here which really added to the cozy ambiance. They also have trivia here on Thursdays (Dillon, if you're reading this, we hope your team wins the championship). 10/10 no notes. Come here if you can get a table.

The waitress was rude and we felt as if we were bothering her by asking for a cup of coffee. At the end I asked for a plastic bag and the hostess was exteremly rude. She said No, we only have paper, and didn't get it for me until I asked again her for a paper bag. She then walked into the back, I followed, and talked about me as if I couldn't hear her, to her staff. It was so disrespectful, will NEVER go back. Good luck to them and their new way of doing things. Terrible service.
