Candy is a great groomer! This review is way over due. I've been going to Candy since April 2023. Candy is the only groomer I've used for my 3yr old Samoyed, Buko. My wife and I received Buko from his original owner from Manhattan NYC. My wife actually drove Buko cross country back to Fremont, CA. Buko was extremely matted and we don't believe he was ever groomed in NYC so I needed him to be groomed quickly. After researching groomers, I finally decided to call Candy on a Tue/Wed and she was able to take him on the Friday of the same week!! I was expecting Buko's grooming to cost an arm and a leg but was pleasantly surprised when Candy charged a very reasonable price considering Buko's matted situation and he looked, felt, and smelled amazing!! Candy's son Chris was really responsive and helpful through the Yelp messaging system so I was able to get appointment the same day. Candy is amazing! I was so nervous at first but I watched her work and was quickly convinced she really cares. My dog honestly put up a fight but Candy was super patient and persistent. Candy got rid of all the matted hair, she was able to get the brown gunk that accumulated near my dog's eyes, and she was really thorough with all the hard-to-reach places. Candy saved me many years back when my 100+ pound lab/rot got the worst skunking I have ever seen - and I have seen a lot of them. She took care of him and it and he has been going there ever since. In fact he loves going there so much we cannot say the word candy in our house or he goes nutso thinking he gets to go there. My dog (shih tzu) has been going there all of his life. She keeps her establishment clean and climate controlled. Although my dog doesn't "jump for joy" when I drop him off, he always feels great when I pick him up. He's clean and happy. She allows a long time for drop offs and pick ups. You can leave them there a short time or up to almost 8 hours. Hey, for the price of a shampoo and haircut--you get daycare!! read more

Traumatizing to my puppy. My brother and I took him here when he was a pup to get cleaned up. I told her specifically just a small trim and a bath. He came back bald, scared, and traumatized even 8 months later about grooming. She said at the end that pups that young aren't supposed to be given hair cuts. I was thinking why didn't you tell me that at the beginning?!?! I'd have paid you the full price anyways for having to cancel the appointment I'd made just 15 minutes before it was to begin! He doesn't let anybody touch him for anything from grooming to vets. I have to do all the work myself. Oh and he came back with kennel cough. Lovely eh? Cheap prices, but you get what you pay for. She also had long long nails, which I'm sure aren't good to have around delicate animals....She also keeps her baby right next to her, just so he can inhale all that animal hair and stuff...Very uncaring.
