By far the BEST coffee shop in town. I tried it about 2 weeks ago and I have been coming for my favorite "me time " ( coffee ) RELIGIOUSLY! At first I was in love w their matchas (I've tried the duvalin and the raspberry - did not disappoint ) and today .. well I'm in love with their brown shaken iced coffee with banana cloud ! I've recently tried their sandwiches and I been loving the torta de Jamon! Service is great , the girls and the owners are always so nice !! Truly gives it a welcoming and genuine vibe. I will always support this coffee shop. It's a staple to my everyday kick of the day! I'm usually a picky coffee drinker and being from San Diego and visit often back home just for my coffee and food fixes , this coffee shop is so good and in comparison to great coffee shops like in the big cities with its quality. Ambience is cutesyyyy inside ! The café was clean, and the staff were very friendly. We ordered the shaken brown sugar banana cloud and the horchata frappe. The shaken brown sugar banana cloud had a pretty strong coffee flavor. I didn't really taste much banana. I didn't really enjoy the drink and wouldn't recommend ordering it. I enjoyed the horchata frappe more. It was refreshing and had a nice flavor. I was also told to try the horchata latte next time, and I think I'd enjoy that more! If I visit again, I'll definitely be giving the horchata latte a try. read more

Canela Cafe was one of the first places I tried in Santa Maria! I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the drinks and food were. Food portions were generous! My husband had the torta and he said it was one of the best he's had! Service was very pleasant and the barista were very friendly. They gave us excellent recommendations and seem to truly care about customer satisfaction. I really enjoyed my experience! I had been wanting to visit Canela Café for a long time. I live in Ventura County, so def not close to me. I was driving through the area and we decided to stop. There is a charging station across the street , my friend's car needed charging as we were on a road trip . It was meant to be ! I ordered a club sandwich a Cortado, a strawberry Matcha and a white mocha . All great ! No complaints. My only suggestion would be that the sandwiches come with a Serrano or maybe jalapeño en vinagre . I am Mexican and it is traditional in my family to eat our sandwiches with a chile on the side. Coming from Ventura County - I didn't find prices to be too high. Yummy Specialty/ pretty coffees or matches are about $9 bucks , up to $11 or sometimes more. Insta worthy drinks cost a bit more and you're supporting a family owned business -it's not Starbucks. Sandwiches are pretty large and I shared with my friend. There was pretty for both of us. We both left full. It is so cute inside! Not a huge shop, but there is seating inside. It was a bit busy ... service was quick! There was a line, however it moved quickly. We are currently doing a road trip from San Diego and my wife saw this cafe as a suggestion. This place has a lot of love. We got a cafe de olla, an iced horchata latte and a pan dulce. These guys were so kind and gave us amazing suggestions that were tailored to our needs. Authentic flavors, with amazing community driven service. This place is worth visiting Santa Maria. A must stop. They have mastered their craft but just as important they have opened their doors to what feels like their home. It's warm and welcoming and but vibrant with music that adds a touch of home. The crew here is the secret recipe and I challenge anyone to find a place as special as this. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart, you guys made our visit memorable and we will be back to Santa Maria because of you guys. read more

This is a 3.5 star review, see below why. Could have easily been 5 stars but there was one big missing thing. Service was busy but friendly and the space was clean. Even with the line the food and coffee didn't take terribly long. Service 5/5! Brown sugar shaken coffee- delicious! No complaints except maybe the crushed ice vs ice cubes or bigger pieces of ice. I think it's more of an aesthetic choice but makes it difficult to sip coffee without using a straw and without eating lots of ice! Avocado toast- the bread was good, maybe a tad too thick but no real complaints. The avocado was fresh but it was beyond bland! Literally salt, pepper and acid would have made this a 5/5 place but it was so hard to eat flavorless avocado toast. Especially with this simple of a dish, seasoning is everything! Big portion though! I'll be back to try out a sandwich and hope that they season those! read more

The vibe is "Instagram" Cute place to enjoy a hot or cold coffee, Chai, matcha, or just a PAN DULCE. I enjoyed a medium Chai Latte while I completed some work online.
