Mahalos to Red Dirt for my ono breakfast!!

Found my way back to Red Dirt Coffee House, had the Pork Adobo rice plate last Sunday, and today, I am having the Shoyu Chicken rice plate! So ono! The chicken is soft and flavorful! Mahalo Red Dirt in making my experience rememberable!!

Half sweet iced latte with one pump macadamia nut and one pump vanilla bean. So yummy!!!

First time trying this place and everything was so delicious. 1/2 sweet iced latte with one pump Mac nut and one pump vanilla bean. We also had their 100% Kona coffee, and a double scoop of their delicious Mac salad. The coffee was smooth and the Mac salad was so flavorful. All of our items came out quickly, the service was friendly, and the place is decorated with Kona coffee bags and other Hawaiian decor. They also have a small area for kids withs. Few toys and an outdoor patio with seating.

This is truly a taste of Maui. From the friendliness, the decor, to the taste of all the food, everything had the essence of cozy. When we first came into the coffee shop, the owner welcomed us warmly. There were quite a few regulars gathered in line or seated nearby. For food, we had our eyes set on the loco moco, the spam musubi, and the li hing fruit cup. For the drinks, I had my eyes set on the 100% Hawaiian coffee. When ordering the loco moco, the owners and the menu both said that they hope we're hungry! When we got the order, the owner said that he wanted to see our faces when we opened the box. As pictured, it's a massive portion. Two hand formed beef patties, two runny poached eggs, tons of rice, and a ton of gravy on top; as it should be. You can tell that he was very passionate and took pride in the food. It was perfectly seasoned and easily split between one hungry and one not so hungry person.

Red Dirt Coffee House always intrigued me whenever I was around the area. It was decorated nicely and bigger space than I thought! I've been to Maui and Oahu and so it was very mostalgic to see the inside and how well they decorated it. I got the Hawaiian Plate with Shoyu Chicken and mac salad and rice, one spam misubi, and my partner got the spam breakfast burrito. The hawaiian plate was good - I thoroughly enjoyed the mac salad, while the shoyu chicken was okay - I felt it needed more sauce as flavor. We both enjoyed the spam misubi! My partner liked his burrito as well. As for the drink, I got the Poi Blended which was really good! It was recommended by the cashier and it is similar to taro but milder and a little less sweeter which I really liked. Definitely will be back to try their other drinks and food!

Good coffee Best EGGS Ever!! Went there to meet a friend for coffee and totally enjoyed the visit that was highlighted by great service staff and food. I'm a coffee snob so they went above my expectations. The atmosphere is fun and island We'll be back asap! Blessings and Thanks

First visit here. When I'm in town I like to try the independent coffee shops, and this one looked interesting. It was an interesting atmosphere. For example, they have a large variety of spam for sale. Here's what I tried: Island Turkey Panini 3.8/5: decent sandwich but the pesto didn't come through enough. Hot large oat milk latte with one pump of Macadamia and an add shot 4/5: the espresso is great, very smooth, but the oat milk comes in too strong with a very nutty flavor. The macadamia pump was a nice addition.

FUXS GIVEN = 4.3 ******************* Food = 3 I wanted this place to be good but the adobo was bland and the tortilla soup wasn't my jam. UX = 5 Super cool place, had homey vibes. Very welcoming. Service = 5 Order at the counter but very friendly and courteous service.

    Hapua sandwich, add tomatoes

Love this place! The only bummer is that I didn't know about it sooner. I had a Hapuna sandwich and added tomatoes; it was delicious! I'm also addictive to the haupia latte--so sweet and flavorful. The service wonderful and the vibes are immaculate. They have classic Hawaiian drinks and snacks, and they even have some shell lei and Hawaiian clothing. I'm so happy they are open early

We're here at least once a week. Everyone here is so fun and friendly. I could recommend so many things to try but they are a handful we get regularly. So Ono!!!! Since the weather has been colder they currently are serving beef stew and it's delicious! My cold mornings usually call for hot spicy chai Overall a great relaxing spot to hang with friends or family! Tell Jackie Lynn sent you ;)

We were visiting from out of town and came across red dirt coffee house. I was looking for some thing delicious and local so this was the perfect spot. As soon as you walk in, you can feel a relaxing vibe. I was surprised to see that they had a full menu and served many authentic Hawaiian dishes. Service was super friendly and fast. I'm pretty sure I even saw the owner hanging in outside sipping his coffee. You know it's good if the owners drinking his own coffee. I ordered a Hapa Mama and it was delish.

loco moco with mac salad on the side (not included with plate)

Stumbled upon this place and so glad we did! It's such a cute mom and pop shop that instantly transports you back to Hawaii. We got the loco moco plate and it was delicious and tasted exactly like something I would get on the island. Staff are also super nice! I would highly recommend this place :)

The restaurant is located right next to the train station, and they had a dedicated carpark, but it also seemed like street parking was readily available nearby as well. The outdoor dining area was pleasant and had heaters available. Once we arrived, we were seated promptly and brought menus and water. They also kindly brought water for our dog, even without us asking them for it. We shared two appetizers, including the ceviche and tostada. Both were excellent, fresh and full of flavor. For mains, I got the misoyaki butterfish, while my husband had the bouillabaisse. I was jealous that he decided to order this because I don't like ordering the same main as someone else I'm dining with, but the jealousy dissipated once I got the butterfish. It was coated in a sweet teriyaki sauce which it paired wonderfully with, and the texture was pleasant and soft. It was served atop a bed of wild rice and greens. The bouillabaisse was also superb. It's hard to imagine that their other main dishes are better than these two, though I'm sure they're also great. We couldn't go past the lime and coconut creme brulee for dessert. Both of us couldn't get enough of this. Our waitress was very nice and efficient. We had everything we needed and never needed to flag her down for anything. Someone else, perhaps the owner, came out and asked us how our meal was while we were eating which was a nice touch. I'd recommend this as a must-visit if you're in the Pismo Beach area.

Note that the parking lot, depending on which day you go, can fill up very quickly. The location is right off of the 101 and easy to find. We checked in and was seated within 10 minutes at a booth that overlooked the beautiful views of the Pismo Beach coast line. Our server, a younger black woman, who told us her nickname was 'TiTi', if I'm not mistaken, was wonderful. Her personality and hospitality was infectious and exceeded 5 stars. She brought us fresh hot corn and flour tortillas with a small cup of brown sugar butter and three different salsas to try. Everything was delicious. We ordered the surf and turf special which was a jumbo shrimp on top of a filet mignon that rested on mash potatoes and a creamy/savory white sauce. We also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese. Everything was exceptionally good. My only takeaway would be that I found the food, especially the lobster Mac and cheese to be pretty salty. Definitely excited for my next visit.

We had a reservation for a birthday dinner and arrived about 30 minutes early. We were told we'd be seated closer to our reservation time, which was completely understandable. However, as we waited, we watched several groups (including walk-ins without reservations) get seated before us. Even after our reservation time had passed, we had to check in with the host again before we were finally seated, despite there being plenty of empty tables. The service at the front definitely could have been handled better. The food, on the other hand, was very good with a great variety of options. I loved that they start you off with freshly made tortillas, cinnamon butter, and salsa to share. I ordered the Campechana de Mariscos, which was fresh, generously portioned, and perfect for sharing. We also had the Molcajete, and it was delicious! It came with a great mix of steak, chicken, chorizo, jumbo shrimp, nopal, and cheese. The portion was generous and easily enough for two people. Other dishes we ordered also included the pozole, chicken nachos, and lobster mac and cheese. Everything was delicious as well! The mac and cheese especially. For drinks, I tried the Golden Hour nonalcoholic cocktail, and unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. It tasted like watered-down ginger beer with no carbonation and only the faintest hint of pineapple. It was more on the bitter taste. Overall, this is a great restaurant for the ocean views and flavorful food. The portions are generous, and there's something for everyone on the menu. The only downside was the host service and the unnecessary wait despite having a reservation. I'd still come back for the food and the scenery.

However, we were told that egg wasn't available at the moment and so we weren't able to taste that and saved an extra $2.50 off our bill (expensive for just one egg). We were told that since they just opened, the food would take longer than expected (roughly around 15-20 minutes). However, to our surprise it came in 10 minutes! Now for the food review, it was okay. The ramen was bland and not spicy at all. I had let the server know that it wasn't spicy as was promised and expected and if we could have some spice to add onto it. He came back with a little side of just chili oil, this was a regretful addition because we later found out that it's an additional $1.50 for such a small amount of chili oil, ridiculous. I don't think I'll be returning due to surge in additional prices that we were not aware of and the fact that the food wasn't good.

We also brought our own wine, and the $20 per bottle corkage fee was very reasonable. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was an unusual odor. We couldn't tell if it was because of the older building near the ocean or something from the kitchen. It seemed to disappear once we were seated, but we noticed it again when walking toward the restrooms. It didn't ruin our evening, but it was something that stood out. Service was a little mixed. My husband has a dairy allergy, so he began by asking what came with the Kurobuta pork chop and which of the sides contained dairy. The server seemed hesitant and mentioned that the chef doesn't like to change his menu, even though my husband hadn't asked for any substitutions. After some back-and-forth, the server suggested placing the pork chop on a separate plate from the sides, which was what my husband had been trying to ask for all along. Most restaurants are quick to suggest simple ways to accommodate food allergies, so the interaction felt more complicated than it needed to be. That said, the food itself was very good. The Beef Tataki was one of my favorite dishes of the evening--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Everything we ordered was well executed, but dessert ended up stealing the show. The Loft Brownie was absolutely delicious, and my niece and I loved every bite. My husband was equally excited that they offered a dairy-free chocolate ice cream, which he really enjoyed. Overall, I can see why Oyster Loft is recommended for seafood, but for us it didn't quite live up to the hype. With so many wonderful restaurants in Pismo Beach still on our list to try, I don't think we'll be making a return visit any time soon.
