It was difficult to find a good cat groomer in this area. Jessica took wonderful care of our long-haired calico with a 1 inch long cut all over...something most cat groomers can't/won't do. This is probably the worst place I have ever taken my pet for a bath. I have a lab and they charged me $80 for a bath. No haircut, etc. Just a bath. When I asked why the price was so high, they told me I was not at a groomer, I was at a salon. A bath is a bath is a bath. I was so upset with them and the job they did that I would not take any pet there ever again! They just rip you off and could care less about your pet! Don't use them!! Ever!! read more

One of my dogs was recently bit on his face by another large dog. My dog, Kane, is an English Bull Terrier, and the dog that bit him is a Mastiff Pitbull mix. So you can imagine how bad the wounds on Kane's face were.. on top of this my family is dealing with all kinds of bills due to a tragedy.. so thinking about paying an emergency vet bill (it was over the weekend on a Sunday), made me even sicker than I already was. My best friend told me to call Canine Concepts. Kira and Jamie were AMAZINGGGG! They urged me to bring Kane in immediately so they could take a look at how severe his wound was. Once we got there, they immediately gave Kane some love and made him feel as comfortable as possible. They looked and realized that his mouth wound went all the way through his bottom jaw, and said they could clean it with Chlorhexidine, a cleaner that Vets use to clean animal wounds with, and also gave him some tiny treats with some Pet CBD oil on then, to help with his pain.. and also gave me some of the cleaner to take home with us! The next day I went back and bought some of the CBD oil, and brought Kane with me. They cleaned his wound one more time, and also mentioned how much better he was already looking and acting. Their receptionist is also amazingly helpful and kind, such a plus to an already amazing place! Only a few days later, and his swelling and oozing has gone down and stopped, he's back to his playful and hyper self, and I didn't have to pay an expensive vet bill! I know this isn't a grooming review, but I've seen some of their work and it is all amazing, and you can just tell they love each and every one of these pets that you guys bring in. If I could give them more than 5 stars on here I would. Thank you Canine Concepts for everything! read more

If your dog is compatible with others they will let him/her to roam around and socialize while waiting their turn. The staff works very patiently and long hours. The customer service & grooming here was not satisfactory and I wouldn't go back. They book way too many dogs for the amount of staff they have and the quality/timeliness goes down. It's also pretty expensive, so I'm going to be searching for somewhere else. read more

I wanted to write an update to my previous review, because I wanted to be fair and mention that I have talked to a couple of people who all love Canine Concepts, and are perfectly satisfied customers. I also wanted to elaborate on why I am giving them just one star. I said previously that the one star rating was due to the fact that their reaction to cutting my puppy's nail too short was cold and unapologetic, and I almost sensed an attitude from the lady as she was telling me my puppy was moving around a lot. I understand that cutting a nail too short can easily happen, especially with a squirmy puppy, but I am sticking with my one star rating because I don't feel comfortable taking my dog to a place that I get cold vibes from. Other people's experience might be quite different from mine, but the lady gave me an attitude when explaining to me that my puppy's nail was cut too short because she was moving around a lot, and she also didn't show my dog any warmth or affection when we arrived, or when we were leaving. That's not the kind of experience I want to have when I take my pup somewhere for grooming. read more

I have been coming to this Groomer since 2005 and they have ALWAYS been so good with my aussie (Baby). They never even used to put her in the kenel she would just play the whole time she was there. Now we have 2 aussies that go there and they just love it. They always do a great job always pleased. The owner does a lot of the work there herself and you can tell this is her passion. She loves the animals and is always smiling. I tried other places before finding this one and have never gone any where else. When I moved back to San Jose I would still drive out here to get them groomed and I always refer people and tell them its worth the drive. I think this place is awesome all around!!! read more

I used to go here all the time but have since moved to San Jose. I now have a four month old puppy and his hair was covering his eyes and very long. I used to bring my other dog (and she has an appointment in two weeks), and was always thrilled... today, Teddy LOVED it and they him.... worth the drive from NW San Jose... prices fair and the groomers/reception are GREAT!!!!! read more

I have two small dogs one of which is very timid and scared of everything, therefore, I did not have him groomed often, as it is such a traumatizing experience for him, however, now that I have found Canine concepts I take him and my other dog on a regular basis as I know that he is relaxed when I drop him off and when I pick him up. Also, the staff there does an amazing job and always listens to exactly what I want. They have specialty services as well for instance giving my dog a Mohawk and then dying it to whatever color I want... SO CUTE! I would highly recommend this groomer to anyone with an animal they love and want only trust worthy and gentle people to groom them! read more

I absolutely love Canine Concepts! I take my Bichon there every two weeks to be groomed and they do a beautiful job. I have taken my labs there as well as my cat. They take special care of each animal to make sure it is as stress free as possible. I love Natalie (the owner) and Ruth as well as the people who bathe the animals. All are gentle and kind. Took my dog hunting for the first time and she ended up getting covered in burrs! :( I felt soo bad for her I had my gf call while I was driving back home to see if I could get her an appointment to get them out and have her cleaned and cut.. It was last minute so I wasn't expecting much... This place was awesome! They took her right in and called me to pick her up right as they were closing.. I was shocked that they didn't charge me extra for all the burrs! My little girls looked so pretty and smelled great! Everyone at the shop was super friendly and I felt comfortable leaving my precious baby there which I normally don't like to do... After a very rude experience at another local groomer, I was hesitant to bring my dog in without an appointment. I called before coming down and was assured that Canine Concepts could fit my dog in for a quick nail trim. When I arrived I was greeted with very friendly service and they treated my dog like a prince! They even had time to do a full grooming and when I picked him up he was softer than I had ever felt before!! We love this place for our little guys!!!! We have a miniature Schnauzer who absolutely loves this places. He goes CRAZY with EXCITEMENT when we arrive. The have done the cutest colors on him since he has such a light color coat. Once and only once they nicked his ear... he bled a lot, but they took care of the cut... cleaned it up and it healed perfectly.... they did not charge us for that grooming although I insisted since the haircut he got was great (just like it always is) the refused to let me pay, they felt so bad for my little guy getting cut (it really wasn't that bad) we have been going there since 2007... we visit a few other groomers but this place is A+ and every penny worth the price. They have had a consistent staff since we started visiting them which I think is important for the dogs to feel comfortable. We have also taken my smooth coated Dachshund just to have a spa day with his brother and they were wonderful with him as well.... I love how they have the most adorable seasonal bandannas that aren't too girly :-) love this place I can't say enough... read more

Pissed! I make an appointment to drop off my dogs right before work and when I arrive they tell me their prices have gone up. They don't tell me on the phone when I made the appointment but when I'm standing there, dogs in hand. THEN, I brought my chihuahua puppy as well for just a bath. Short haired, tiny thing. $45.00. I brought my long haired cat here for a lion's cut . The first time he came home looking PURRFECT and we were both very happy. He is usually VERY mellow but can be cranky at times, especially if you're messing with his belly. The groomer told me that when she did his belly that he tried to bite her! Anyway when it came time for the next cut, she made sure I scheduled my appointment at a time when two people were available - so someone could hold him while he was groomed. Fair enough, I arranged my schedule accordingly to satisfy their concerns. When I picked him up, he once again looked great - inside his crate - short and sweet. When I got him home though, I discovered that she did not do his belly AT ALL . What was done was so uneven that I had to take the scissors to him myself just to clean it up. She neglected to mention any of this when I picked him up. Wasn't the whole point in the scheduling so that she could have help and do the job correctly? I was sadly disappointed and am going to shop around. read more
