The staff here are warm and friendly. I had questions about transporting a domestic animal overseas and they were right on the information and directing what to do. They have made the process easy so far, which is helpful. This can be a complicated process. I see them to be more affordable and available than other clinics in the area. He acted like he had more important things to do, and as a result, our kitten never received the care he urgently needed. We went to another veterinary office for a second opinion, and they immediately diagnosed what was wrong -- but by then it was too late, all because of the negligence at Gilroy. We've been clients for decades. All of our dogs have been treated here and in years past they were treated exceptionally! We recently had to have surgery on our 15 year old dog. It took over a week from the exam to the surgery date. We dropped her off and surgery did go well The follow up was non-existent. No call from the clinic or vet asking how she was! No follow up to tell us what the results were. Nothing! Took my big ~120lbs Doberman to get neutered. They were very accommodating! Especially since he's been labeled as an aggressive dog, towards other animals and humans by previous Vet. When it was time for his appointment, staff was very friendly and super with him and were left in shock because he didn't display aggression or leave a bad impression, if anything it was the opposite of what he was labeled as. However the crew/staff played a major part in this because they were so kind and welcoming and made everyone super comfortable and feel loved especially with SNACKS! On top of that, for our big guy, we got the estimate of over $1,500, for this procedure AT OTHER PLACES! HOWEVER THIS PLACE! Was way! under that, and you can tell they aren't "money hungry" like many other places. Same day after surgery this big guy of ours came out of there happy and ready to play! They have always been wonderful to my animals, prices are fairly reasonable, and the care that they exhibit is amazing. Jamie is extremely patient and I love the doctors because they do not try to upsell you. I had a cat that I thought had his eye torn out and it turned out to be an embedded fox tail. The doctor took it out and prescribed some medicine and he was healed for under $100. I highly recommend taking your animals to this Veterinarian. I decided to try Morgan Hill Animal Hospital based on Yelp reviews and was greatly disappointed with the attention and care my babies received. Someone recommended Gilroy Veterinary Hospital so we gave it a shot. The receptionist was very sweet at check-in. I filled out the new patient paperwork while chatting with a couple of people in the waiting room. We were taken back to the exam room by a lovely vet tech named Brian. He was patient, friendly and gentle with all 3 of my dogs. When Dr. Harrigan came in, he engaged with my pups straight away which put them at ease. He was gentle, warm, and FULLY present during each of their exams. I am confident that my babes will be safe during their upcoming dental cleaning procedures. The young lady who handled payment and scheduling at check out was lovely. As far as pricing goes, this establishment is extremely reasonable. We took our dog Lexus in to put her down on October 30th due to her old age.and received her ashes back yesterday November 13th. This review is for the experiences that i went through with Gilroy Vet from the doctor to the whole entire staff for a wonderful experiences that they gave me and my wife. The staff was compassionate. They let me take my time without ever make me feel rushed doing this difficult time. We received a card in the mail with the staff at gilroy Vet signed with everyone messages of condolences. It was very touching for us and greatly appreciated. We have had many dogs and had gone through a few of this experiences but Gilroy Vet have for ever earned our business from here on out and i fully recommend them. And when i received the Ashes back it was well packaged with the box inside a nice bag and a card from the cremation place. I've been bring my dogs here since 2005! Staff and doctors have been great until a recent emergency we had. Their systems were down for 1-2 days so they could not take us and referred us to MedVet off Bernal Road. Note: we find out after the fact they are not affiliated and only referred us because that was the closest emergency facility to them. We took our dog to MedVet and they prescribed our dog meds. Everything seemed okay at first but after a day our dog's cut opened more and continued to bleed more. MedVet told us to let it heal on its own. (If I had a cut and after seeing the doctor it opened up and bled more I would be concerned). So I called Gilroy Vet again and asked for them to help. All they said was to go back to MedVet or they will see our dog sometime week where will be charged for the visit and incur more fees for needed procedures and meds. This teally upset because we originally called them and they referred us elsewhere and are now seem unwilling to help. So i just got home from coming here to have my Senegal Parrot's nails trimmed and I'm so pissed off that I had to Yelp about it immediately. Normally I take Mango to Princevalle Pet Hospital but they only have one bird vet and as a normal person that works 8-5 Monday through Friday the only time I can bring her is on a Saturday. Well if you're lucky enough to fine a Saturday that the vet is working they are booked for months in advance! Any of you that has a bird know that their nails can go from comfortable to hypodermic needles in about a week. So often I am stuck having to deal with her sharp claws for a couple of weeks before I can get an appointment. Well with the holidays going on again I was faced with having to endure my Senegal poking holes in my fingers for about a month before I could get an appointment for a nail trim. So I called around and was told that Gilroy Vet Hospital would do the nail trim. Yippee. When I booked the appointment the scheduler suggested 8am. Huh? No way am I getting up that early on my day off. So I asked for something later and she said okay 9. That was still a bit early for me but oh well. Now I don't know if it's a thing with vet's but I don't think I've ever been seen on time for an appointment. Princevalle ALWAYS makes me wait about 15 mintues before being seen. Gilroy Vet Hospital was the same. In fact a guy with a dog that came in about 10 minutes after me got seen before me. What the hell is the point of making an appointment if you don't see me until 20 minutes later? If you're going to see me at 9:15 then just tell me my appointment is for 9:15. I could have slept for another 15 minutes. But let's get to the real reason why I am so upset. After only having my bird for about 5 miniutes, (the fastest nail trim she's ever had), I get Mango back and the charge is................. $75!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did a double take and said, "What?" Apparently this place charges $58 just for you to walk in the door! Princevalle charges about $20 for a nail trim. I guess it's shame on me for not asking what they charged but I just assumed it would be similar to Princevalle. Not only that but I checked Mango's nails and a couple of them were still kinda sharp. I know that vet's don't like to trim bird nails too much because their quicks are inside the nail and the bird will bleed if you trim too aggressively. But I had just paid $75 and by God I was going to get my money's worth so I sent Mango back to get them done a little more. The girls that work at the office are friendly enough and I assume they do a good job but I won't be coming back here ever again because of their predatory pricing. $75?!?!? Geez. That's robbery. Next time use a gun when you're going to rob me. read more

I called in asking if my puppy's symptoms were considered an emergency as I am a new dog owner. We've been taking our dogs to this vet since we moved here 6 years ago. Luckily up til this point our dogs are pretty healthy and didn't need much. Unfortunately due to my last experience we will no longer be trusting our dogs care here. We started taking our boxer in over two months ago because she was lethargic, not eating, loosing weight, and overall just not herself. The first time we went we waited for over an hour for them to pick her up from the car. I told the vet tech what the problem was and then I had to wait in the car. I get it because of all the COVID stuff but really it's like you're playing a game of telephone. I wait for over an hour for the doctor to just call me - they said she had multiple things wrong with her - including a heart murmur that we could have an ultrasound done on to make sure she doesn't have a heart issue going on if the medication prescribed doesn't help. In two weeks she wasn't better so I called to make an appointment for the ultrasound. The receptionist was rude and short and said they only do them in the morning at specific times. Fast forward to my husband going to the appointment: the vet tech tells him they don't do that at the facility - um ok? Your rude receptionist seemed to think so. They ended up just doing the same tests and it was same as two weeks prior. The vet gave her more of the same crap medication and b12 - she seemed better for the most part but not 100%. Our precious baby girl died two weeks later. She was turning 6 in two days. We believe it was indeed a heart issue but we'll never know as they wouldn't give us an ultrasound. I don't think that there was anything they could have done but they could have prepared us for what was to happen. ****on another note: as I was there waiting in the car for an hour with my girl, I see them opening the blinds to a room RIGHT IN FRONT of all the people waiting in their vehicles outside. Then a woman walks up crying and obviously upset carrying her dog in. The vet tech then takes the dog and brings her into the room with the blinds open. The woman is standing outside watching. Are you seriously telling me that you are putting this woman's dog down with an entire audience behind her??? It's tragic enough for the poor woman and her family to have to put her dog down but to do it like that is unfathomable. I find it hard to believe that they couldn't find a different room or figure out a way for this lady to be with her dog in their final moments. Absolutely horrible. read more

Finally found our new vet! Everyone here is really friendly and attentive. My pug has suffered from allergies her entire life. We had it under control until we moved back home (Gilroy). Her ear infections came back, she started have skin issues, and her eye started to swell shut. I went to another vet in Morgan Hill that just wasn't listening to the issues and really didn't help. So I decided to try this vet. Sure enough we finally got our solution! We met with Dr. Harrington who also has a pup with allergies so he understood my concerns. Everything he gave us and recommend worked perfectly. Ariel's skin cleared up literally the next day, her eye swelling went down within 2-3 days, and her ear infections are gone!!
