I have a 1 year old 75lb Labrador retriever who is nervous around medium-large dogs. For months, we…read morebrought her to dog parks only to come home feeling dejected because Luna would bark at, and boycott certain dogs (even 5 month old puppies). We wanted to nip this medium/large dog "trauma" out of Luna's system, so she can feel safe and enjoy the company of other dogs. When we came to julya with this issue, (in the midst of a last minute trip) julya was assuring and patient. She had given Luna a slow introduction to the rest of the pack and allowed Luna to process the surrounding changes at her pace. After 3 nights with Julya, Luna came home and slept for a whole day. She was happy and tired as could be (which is always a great sign). However, the more amazing thing is the changes in her at the dog park. I could see her hesitation at first but by the second time we brought her to the dog park, she was playing with labradors, pitbulls, Great Danes and chihuahuas alike. If you're having the same issue with your dog, or if your dog has gone through an incident like mine, meeting the right people & pack does wonders.

When we left them for 2 weeks and picked them back up, we promised ourself Never Again! If you want undelivered promises of updates, dogs with a serious eyes fungus every single time your dogs are picked up reagrdless of length of stay, love a dog covered in excrement smells combined with hippy cologne this is the perfect place for you. I almost forgot, she charged me for 3 days once and my dogs were there for 1.5 days and argued with me when I presented her the facts. Never again will I put my dogs in this s hole.

At the same time, you want to shout from the rooftops how INCREDIBLE it is! We couldn't fathom the idea of our dog staying locked up in a kennel all day, and like a previous reviewer we were lucky enough to find Joe through a recommendation of another boarding facility. He is truly a dog lover and it shows. He spends time with the dogs like they're family - exactly what any dog owner would hope for when they're away. His place is beautiful, peaceful and honestly a dog heaven. It's the total opposite of a traditional kennel where the dogs look like they're so bored they're going crazy. We drive about an hour away to take our pup here and would not even think about going anywhere else.

We are so glad we took their recommendation because Joe, the owner of the facility, was absolutely phenomenal. It is situated on a large property and our dog was able to run and play every day (weather permitting), and at night she was in a warm and cozy kennel with other dogs. Joe also texted us letting us know he took our pup on a one-on-one walk down by the river so she could warm up to him! He sent us several pictures of our dog while we were away and we were so relieved that she was being taking care of by a caring individual who simply loves dogs. The hours are great and Joe charges per over-night, so we were able to pick up our pup at 7:30 at night as soon as we flew in without having to pay an extra fee. We are so glad that we now have a go-to place for boarding when we have to be away.

We were really excited to get our first puppy but we did not realize all the headaches that were to come. A month or so in, I was at Pet Pros in Lake Stevens buying a muzzle for my puppy because he would not stop biting my wife. The clerk suggested that rather than use the muzzle begin working with a trainer. She handed me Kim's card. Kim has been a great trainer. The constant nipping has become a thing of the past. Redford knows over a dozen commands. Whether he listens or not is something we are still working on :-), but he is only 6 months old. Incredible! Additionally, my favorite thing about Lake Stevens K9 Academy LLC is that I am able to board my puppy with Kim. Redford loves his "playdates". So it gives me peace of mind when I'm away from him because I know he is in a place he loves and that he's in great hands. Thanks Kim! Nathaniel and Brittany Van Duine

It was a great way for him to be socialized and learn good manners. The classes were very low key and practical. We have continued to work with Kim and her team with dog boarding during our vacations and occasionally home drop ins when we have to work long hours. There's no one else we trust more! They always have great attention to detail and treat our dogs like family. We also have an elderly German Shepherd with reactivity and she does great with Kim as well. Highly recommend!

He's a good dog, but he would…read moreoccasionally be aggressive with other dogs and bark too much when we have guests or deliveries at the front door. We reached out to Connie because we were thinking of getting a second dog and wanted to get a "tune up" for Winston before we made that decision. The process to set up the initial meeting was thorough - we filled out an initial form, we talked with someone on the phone and we were provided with material to read before we ever met Connie. We appreciated the documentation as it set reasonable expectations about the process. When Connie came to the house, the first thing she did was ask us about our goals for the training. She's a great listener and really took the time to investigate our situation and ensure she truly understood the issues that we were having. Once she had gotten our story, she explained the root cause of the issues with Winston and educated us on how to better communicate with our dog. There was a lot of useful BarkBusters material that she shared that was specifically relevant to the problems we were having. Once we got past the theory, we did a few different exercises with Winston to put the ideas into practice. We saw an immediate impact with Winston after the first session. We felt more confident once we were equipped with the knowledge and skills to handle the problematic situations. We followed up on the homework that Connie shared and the results only continued to improve in the weeks following our initial visit. When she met us for the second time, she was surprised with how well Winston had responded to training and provided some small feedback about how we can continue to improve. We are over the moon with how much improvement we've seen with Winston and are so happy we worked with Connie! With the lifetime guarantee, we know we can reach out in the future if Winston develops other issues. Working with Connie was worth every penny and we highly recommend that others reach out if they're looking to improve their dog's behavior!
