Play All Day, though, is a totally different kind of boarding. The dogs are active throughout the day, both with other animals and with the people who work here. April is great with dogs of all sorts of personalities, matching them up with other dogs they'll like, and gradually helping them warm up to the new environment. Our dog was very nervous about the daycare/boarding, but she worked with him over several visits, and by the time we picked up him after a 10+ night stay, he... well, he was happy to see us, but I don't think he really wanted to go home! The services here are more expensive than at many other boarding facilities, but we found that it's ultimately an awesome value for the great care that they provide, and the knowledge that our dog isn't just getting fed and let out to potty, but is actually having a great time. We will definitely be using Play All Day again and would recommend to absolutely any dog owner to try them out for daycare or boarding.

I would not hesitate for one second to call and ask if she can come to daycare for any reason. We're wanting to take a vacation, call PAD. We wanted to go to the fair for a day and had no one to let her out at home, called PAD. They really are like a second home to our dog and I'm so glad I called and got on the waiting list when she was only 10 weeks old. We used to use the vet's boarding in town for my older dog and it was awful because he was in a typical concrete kennel with dog barking echoing in his ears for 24 hours a day, only being let out to potty a few times a day. I did not want this for my young dog so I looked for alternatives and this is the complete opposite at PAD. My dog is only crated at nap time and bed time, just like it would be at my house and I know she's so tired from running crazy all day that she probably gets in her crate at daycare and goes right to sleep. Daycare is a 50 minute drive for us one-way and as soon as we turn onto Carver Ln, she's pacing back and forth because she knows we're almost there. We walk in, they say hi to Ruby and she's already racing towards the play door. This is a heart-felt review and I feel like when I drop her off, sounds silly, but it's like dropping a toddler off at grandma's house. You know she'll be taken care of and you don't worry that she's getting into things.

Jodie Vee's is HANDS DOWN the best dog training and boarding facility we've ever found!!! When our…read more(now 4 year old) doodle was a puppy, Jodie Vee's was recommended to us by our vet. Sadie went through Puppy Kindergarten/Obedience Training. This was SO WORTH THE TIME and EFFORT...and worth every penny! Jodie is incredibly knowledgeable and well-educated. She gave us great advice and things to work on at home which was so helpful. Sadie also LOVES the AGILITY classes! We now live 3 hours away from the C-U area where Jodie Vee's is located but continue to use Jodie Vee's Boarding Services. It's well worth the drive, the facility is BEAUTIFUL, and Sadie is always so excited to see Jodie Vee! I wish we lived closer...Jodie Vee's is the thing we miss most about leaving C-U. Her facility is an absolute GEM! Other training facilities aren't even worth comparing. I simply cannot say enough positive things about Jodie Vee's! (And I'm not getting any perks for sharing this review!) Just trust me!

I called this facility to tell them that I had adopted a scared/aggressive dog from the shelter. I…read moreexplained everything to them that my dog was extremely kind to me, but so scared of other people. I asked if their classes would help me. The trainer assured me that they have had many dogs like my shelter dog! I have had another dog before and was only used to training a puppy, not a dog that needed special help (such as a rescue dog). We went to a class and they told me I needed a prong collar. They said that is the only way to fix my dog. Sharp tugs to get him in line was what he needed.....a firm hand...etc. In order to teach him to lay down you put your foot on the leash by their collar so they cannot get up! Happily my dog was kicked out of class after the second class! They said they were to worried to have him there! I was so embarrassed! I had explained his situation to them before we even showed up! They even requested i return their "caution dog bandana". What!!?? I then called TAPS, where I rescued him, to recommend a trainer to me. They gave me the name of the person they work with. This person was a godsend to me and my dog. The trainer had so much education in dealing with scared dogs. The trainer taught us how to use positive reinforcement and highly motivating treats to get the proper behavior. I cannot believe how far my dog has come! I often am bothered by the "choke collar" and methods that Heartland taught. I hope everyone reads this and finds a more positive approach.I'm so proud of my pooch! My dog is my world. I have taken four dogs to this facility for a total of 13 classes. In response to some other…read morereviews, I have never seen anyone REQUIRE the use of a training ("choker") collar or prong collar. Occasionally they have been highly recommended, as they can be a very useful tool if used effectively. I have, however seen some dogs do amazing on prong collars and if used appropriately, (which is taught), they are an amazing tool to teach your dog to walk calmly on a leash. A couple of easy, gentle corrections can have your dog learning very quickly. For those that I have seen insist on using a buckle collar during the learning portion of training, their dogs have continued to pull on the leash and drag their handlers until the very last class. Exactly what they're trying to avoid by taking the class to begin with. All my experiences have been positive. I had the "military man" instructor at one point, and I never saw him choke a dog. Our training collar broke on my giant breed as well on a very light correction. Come to find out, it was a bad batch of collars they had ordered. I have seen some of the worst dogs come out amazing in the end with confident handlers who are not afraid to make a correction when needed, and realize that corrections ARE needed at times. The instructors have always been friendly to the customers and the dogs but will not hesitate at times to be truthful if it's needed. I've no problems returning to Heartland as I've always left happy and with a well trained dog.

My family first met the owners of Tail Command approximately a year ago. We had bought a Yorkie…read morepuppy (Buddy) and had him for 9 months in which we were never able to get him house broken with traditional methods. We quickly discovered that the problems we were having were much more severe than we thought initially. Our dog had a severe case of separation anxiety. We learned through video recording that anytime we would leave him, he would go into an anxious fit soiling his crate and then becoming even more anxious that he had had an accident. We had asked another dog trainer for help, but because of her limited schedule and my difficult work hours she seemed to be unable (or unwilling) to make adjustments to help us. I was in tears daily over the situation and it was causing turmoil in our home. We even considered finding a new home for Buddy, but not only would that have broken our hearts, but who wants to adopt a dog with that severe of a problem. When I called Ian at Tail Command, he immediately set up an appointment to come to our home and help us. He did not overcharge us, or try to set up multiple appointments to keep himself financially funded. He spent a lot of time learning about Buddy's behavior and multiple anxiety issues. Ian was not only supportive of our dog, but of me as his owner and the distress that I was facing due to his problems. Ian was available to us by email and phone between appointments and did not charge us extra for those services. Due to the behavior training we received from Tail Command, within approximately a month, our problem with separation anxiety had lessened by 90%. Our little Buddy had stopped soiling his crate and then house breaking came along more naturally shortly afterwards. Tail Command is an excellent business with excellent owners. They are not only knowledgeable, but supportive as well. If not for the support and training of Ian and his staff, we would have had to get rid of our little Buddy. We can never fully express in a short review how valuable the services we received there have been to our dog and our family. Thank you Tail Command! We love you guys!

Our dogs have been going here for years now for both day care, short overnight stays and extended…read moreboarding during travel. We have had an excellent experience-- our dogs are clearly happy to arrive and are content and exhausted when they get home from a daycare day. We aim for them to get 1-2 visits for day care per week for much of the year, and have had them stay overnight for as long as 1.5-2 weeks. We recommend them to all our friends (and so far, our friends and their dogs have been happy, too!).
