Long lines, surly (or at the very least cold, often discourteous ground crew), lost luggage, "rules" you never heard of until you stepped in front of the counter...you know what I mean. So imagine my delight when we flew Porter for the first time from Halifax to Toronto. My husband dropped me off at the nearest door to Porter with our luggage while he went to park the car. I thought I'd use the time to fill out those luggage tags and went near the counter, which had no lines and yet two people were ready to assist passengers with boarding rituals whenever they arrived. I was asked if I was checking in, I said my husband had the eboarding passes and our passports and that I was waiting for him. "No worries, what's your name? I'm sure it's in the system and we can get you started while he's parking." And before he arrived, we were checked in, new boarding passes issued, bags weighed and tagged, ready just for him to show his ID (I had already shown my driver's licence). And that was just the beginning of a wonderful friendship. On board service was way better than the competition - imagine....my juice actually arrived in a glass...a REAL glass!

Not even a single help and was tired of travelling that much hours already .Air canada said meals are at hotel and when we reached there ,hotel front desk said :"No meals". Logged a complaint and they said its gonna take 30 to resolve and then after 30 days I received a mail saying "Unfortunately NO COMPENSATION for you". After waiting for 30 days, After carrying those heavy luggages with no meal or nothing, After missing some important job related meetings and even one day job ,Air Canada said "Nothing for you". They inspected the vehicle when we returned it and agreed that it was in perfect condition. But if you read the terms and conditions (which nobody does) they are not responsible for anything, even if it happens after you leave the airport. Absolutely ridiculous!! We've been back twice and used AVIS without issue since. Shame on your Hertz. I hope you choke on your corporate greed. Disgusting!! As soon as you drop the rent off and return your keys, immediately charge your credit card then you have to fight for your for your corporate rate and your discounts. As you entered the rental hall, AVIS is located right to the left side of the door way. Both Preferred and regular rentals are handled at the same counter. The agent was friendly and had me on my way within a few minutes as I am a Preferred member. There is a 24-hour gas station at the entrance to the airport. I returned the rental before it was opened for the day. I dropped off the keys at their night box and was on my way to the gate. I would rent from AVIS on my next trip to Halifax CA.

We ordered a "mystery car" $200/day as that was our only option. The car they gave us was a KIA mid size and was in pretty bad shape.. and our CRA forgot to add our aeroplan # to our reservation when we checked in at the counter. Upon returning the car, I noticed a week later that I had not received any aeroplan points yet to my account. I called AVIS at Halifax Airport and spoke with a lady who claimed to be a manager "Kelsey" (under Joe Ferraro ) and she stated there was nothing she could do as the reservation was now closed. KELSEY came across very arrogant. She didn't offer any assistance, and claimed there was nothing more she could do. She told us to call Aeroplan. We called Aeroplan and after an hour we got hold of an agent who told us that AVIS was responsible for adding our points. A supervisor then came on the call who assisted us in a 3 way call with Avis and spoke to customer service who gladly added our points. (the entire process took appx 3 hours of my time from being put on hold, waiting times, etc....). The entire situation could have been avoided if the Halifax manager KELSEY (under Joe Ferraro) knew what she was doing. She claimed that there was nothing more she could do. Such arrogance! All she had to do was open a 3 way call with AVIS customer support (like the Aeroplan Supervisor did) and have our aeroplan number added to the reservation. It was as simple as that. She refused to budge and completely wasted 3 hours of our time. It is quite annoying when someone who is in a leadership role as a manager is so full of herself, yet clearly doesn't know the process.
