From the first phone call, I knew I had made a great choice, they were able to get me in the following week! When I arrived, I was taken to a room with a massage chair to relax before my appointment and it was amazing and honestly the best way to wait for an appointment. When they ask you if you'd like to wait in there for your appointment, take them up on it! When it was time for my appointment, they came and got me from the massage room and took me to a cleaning room. I've never thought about equating a dentist office with elegant and classy but this was it. The room was comfortable with blankets, and 2 tvs, one in front of you and one mounted on the ceiling to distract you from the procedure, along with headphones so you can watch your favorite Netflix show. The appointment started with getting imaging of my teeth and then we took a look at my teeth on the screen together, it was such a cool experience to be able to see exactly what was going on in my mouth. After the cleaning, Dr. Dubrinski came in and honestly she was fantastic, she spoke with you with actual interest in getting to know you as a person and not just a patient, she was very thorough with her recommendations but ultimately left the decision to the patient, which was very refreshing. I had to get my first filling ever (was sadly 32 years strong on that one) but they were able to fit me in the same week! That process was so easy and since it wasn't major I was pain free after! I loved everyone I interacted with here from the first phone call to the follow up appointments. I promise you will not be disappointed here! I will also add that I don't have dental insurance and I feel like this experience was very responsible, after getting there and experiencing all of this I wasn't sure what I had gotten myself into but honestly was very pleased when I checked out. I definitely recommend checking sculpt out if you're in the market for a local dentist.

If you can afford to go anywhere else at all, do that by all means!…read moreWe brought our child here to have teeth pulled because we did not have dental insurance at the time and they were suggested for affordability. I assumed that because they were part of MUSC it would be excellent care. I must preface this, I had to have 12 teeth pulled as a child because my teeth were overcrowded and my mouth was "too small." I loved my dentist and going there, even with all the work that I had done. I was never afraid, HELD DOWN OR STRAPPED DOWN. They took their time and made sure we were feeling SAFE and that the GAS was being breathed in etc etc. This was a HUGE contrast to the experience my child endured at this institution. Traumatized is the only appropriate word. I had nightmares the entire night following and had to call my own elderly Mother to comfort ME! These folks are in a hurry and know you're over a barrel without a ton of money or insurance. They get the job done, but it is rough and with haste and lack of compassion. They are effectively condescending and make you feel dirty. It's SHOCKING that they handle small children with this lack of empathy. The folks at the front desk are polite and kind....the back of the house, however is a Butcher Shop. Do whatever you can, save your money, get a new credit card, find an actual Private Dentist that will allow you to pay over time...do not let your child nor yourself go through this place. They are in a hurry and you are not on equal footing because they feel like they are doing favors for the poor. This place is nice on the outside, but a *hatchet job* compared to what I experienced literal DECADES AGO in the mountains of Appalachia for the exact same procedures. MUSC has a long way to go with their pediatric dentistry offerings. I would even want my kid to consider a different University if they decided to pursue Dentistry...that is how disgusted i feel. Read the other reviews, they treat their "patients" like stock animals. We are stock animals to these people.

I was a little bummed at first because they only take new toddler patients during the morning appointments (which requires time off work for me) but they have good reason - so it's not busy and they can introduce them to the place. Everyone on staff was very friendly. Our dental hygienist was absolutely great with my son! I thought he would be terrified but he did wonderful, I think because the staff was so friendly, personable, and knew how to work with kids. They have puzzles, blocks, and coloring pages in the waiting room. In the appointment room they had big stuffed animals and characters familiar to kids. They let him pick his own character toothbrush. My son wasn't keen on sitting in the big check up chair, but they encouraged him to sit in my lap and lean back while they checked out his teeth. They were very knowledgeable and had recommendations for me and could clearly answer my questions. I highly recommend this practice if your toddler or child needs to see a dentist!
