Katelynn has set up a payment plan with three payments including the insurance coverage. Dr.Newsome and Jen were awesome as I sat for over three hours while they did all the work. You may ask why the one star review if everything went so well. Here is the issue I have; after my crown was installed Katelynn came in to tell me that this type of extensive dental work i was not covered at all by my insurance and she had a new payment plan that now covered six months of payments. I was livid. I would never have done all that work especially the crown if I had known ahead of time. I understand mistakes are made but this one was going to cost me almost $800. I told Katelynn I would not sign the plan until I had a chance to think about it. She tried to push me into it, minimizing the huge problem of the extra cost. She said "a pop up must have came up that was not noticed ". Regardless of why it was missed I signed two contracts for the three month plan. I signed one at my initial appointment on Monday and another yesterday before the work because the plan with the crown had not been saved for some reason. Now I was supposed to get a cleaning by the hygienist named John. I was just about to leave without having it done because I was so upset but John spent time calming me down which meant he would have to stay late for my cleaning. These people were all great and even this morning one Advil was enough to help the pain. The other root canal I had many years ago even the hydrocodone they gave me did not help. If it weren't for the huge mistake made with my bill this would have been a five star review. I would have written it yesterday as soon as I returned but I wanted time to think about what to say. I rarely write reviews but I felt this "mistake " deserved I just got a call from Katelynn. Dr. Vincent's was spoken to today and the decision was made to keep the original payment schedule. That is awesome and the right thing to do. I have changed my review to five stars because mistakes are made every day and I certainly am not above them. It is how those mistakes are dealt with that tells the tale and Northside Family Dentistry did the right thing. Thank you all for your help and the start of a long relationship with my family's teeth. I now only have to wait six months for my insurance to work on some of my other dental issues. I especially want to thank Katelynn for taking the time to explain my coverage to me more in depth today so now I know what I can and cannot have done and when for it to be covered.

From the first phone call, I knew I had made a great choice, they were able to get me in the following week! When I arrived, I was taken to a room with a massage chair to relax before my appointment and it was amazing and honestly the best way to wait for an appointment. When they ask you if you'd like to wait in there for your appointment, take them up on it! When it was time for my appointment, they came and got me from the massage room and took me to a cleaning room. I've never thought about equating a dentist office with elegant and classy but this was it. The room was comfortable with blankets, and 2 tvs, one in front of you and one mounted on the ceiling to distract you from the procedure, along with headphones so you can watch your favorite Netflix show. The appointment started with getting imaging of my teeth and then we took a look at my teeth on the screen together, it was such a cool experience to be able to see exactly what was going on in my mouth. After the cleaning, Dr. Dubrinski came in and honestly she was fantastic, she spoke with you with actual interest in getting to know you as a person and not just a patient, she was very thorough with her recommendations but ultimately left the decision to the patient, which was very refreshing. I had to get my first filling ever (was sadly 32 years strong on that one) but they were able to fit me in the same week! That process was so easy and since it wasn't major I was pain free after! I loved everyone I interacted with here from the first phone call to the follow up appointments. I promise you will not be disappointed here! I will also add that I don't have dental insurance and I feel like this experience was very responsible, after getting there and experiencing all of this I wasn't sure what I had gotten myself into but honestly was very pleased when I checked out. Her office is state of the art and she's great about walking you through what's going on with your treatment and why. Others may not, but I appreciate this time to understand why or why not a procedure, surgery, etc... is needed. She uses digital cameras and photos to show you one tooth vs another so you become a part of the process. I definitely recommend Dr. Seay personally, she's excellent. I still live in Park West but I no longer go to this office and I'll tell you why. After a visit and a recommendation to see an oral surgeon about having a tooth removed, I did. I went to Dr. Maltezos for a consult and it was recommended that a particular tooth be removed and an implant be put in. I wasn't opposed to this, but at the time, the tooth wasn't causing a problem and I was in-between jobs with no dental insurance or extra money to pay for such an expensive procedure. I had a family friend who had been my dentist for years look over the x-rays and his suggestion was that there was no immediate problem so there was no issue with waiting. Months later, I was having some sensitivity and needed a cleaning anyway. I came in to find that Dr. Seay had taken leave (I think for a few months) so I was informed that I would be seeing a different dentist. It turns out, my dentist for the day was Dr. Maltezos wife. I told her about the sensitivity in that tooth, which had actually passed, and wasn't bothering me. She pretty much scolded me after looking at her husbands recommendation and asked me "why is this tooth still in your mouth?". Um, maybe because I wasn't ready to have a tooth permanently taken out that wasn't causing me any problems and was going to cost thousands of dollars that I didn't have... that's a start. She then belittled every response I had and just ruined my experience there. It truly felt like she was just trying to push business onto her husbands office. I never ended up going back. I went to another dentist who agreed that the best tooth to have is the one that's in your mouth. I would have stuck with that dentist, but there was an insurance issue. I've now moved on to another office and actually had a new consult for the tooth. It finally started causing a problem almost 3 years later. I ended up eventually having the tooth out, which I mentioned, was my goal eventually, but I was able to do it under my own terms and when I had my insurance back in place to help defer the cost. Part of me wanted to knock this review down lower because of how my experience took such a 180, but Dr. Seay doesn't deserve that. She really is a great dentist. The office isn't cheap, but they're not sparing a single expense when it comes to the most up to date and top of the line equipment. Park West Dentistry is a great office, but I would never see Mrs. Dr. Maltezos again.

It feels like family, and I mean that in the sense of the "traditional families" God gave each of us and the "non-traditional families" we tend to build around us. In particular, I need to praise Tasha, who has cleaned my teeth for years. Here are a few words to describe Tasha: competent, proactive, kind, and warm...bottom line is she cares about her clients. Next, I need to praise Teena, the office manager. She is the last person you see on your way out the door. Teena promotes goodwill in everything she does, advocating for each client. Teena & Tasha are two of the threads woven into the cloth that is Modern Family Dentistry. There seem to be many other good people here; I just talked about the two I interact with regularly. My mouth is so sensitive that I have had horrible experiences with ever dentist I have been to. I don't get numb enough so when they start drilling it is very painful. Also, I will feel pain for a week just from the numbing shots. It scares me so much that I put off going despite the severe tooth pain i was experiencing. One day it got so bad I could not stand it any longer. I called into this office because it was the closest to my house and luckily I was able to get a same day apt. I was so scared I brought my husband with me for support. The lady at the front desk greeted me by name and I was brought right back to a chair. Grace talked me through everything and made me very comfortable. I explained to her my bad experiences in the past and how scared I was. She went above and beyond to make me comfortable and offered me nitrous, which I gladly accepted after finding out I would need a root canal. The lady who had to give me multiple numbing shots had a special trick that made them completely painless, even one on the roof of my mouth. The dentist was the nicest one I have ever met. He walked me through the entire thing. I was completely at ease. It went by so quick and painlessly. I have hear horrible stories about root canals and how painful they are but this one was easier than any cavity filling I have had. I cannot even explain how relieved I am to have found Modern Family Dentistry and how comfortable I am to go back for future dental work.
