    Soggy fries

Not very good at all, unfortunately. Decent wait time to order at the cash register, soggy truck fries, weak churrasco steak plate with mushy bed of rice and bland flavors. Steak was thin cut, oversalted flank steak (cheapest kind). The plating was not very appealing, in addition to the taste. Table next to us didn't approve of the soggy fries either. I won't be back. Unless this place steps up its game big time, it won't be open for long. The upside - tremendous opportunities to improve.

When you arrive at Cantina, you order at the front. When we went I only saw one man taking orders, serving food, and helping customers. He was extremely nice and they weren't overly busy but it was definitely more than a one person task. They were accommodating of me wanting to exchange my mashed potatoes for fries. The food took a while to come out which was expected since they were more than likely short staffed. I was unfortunately disappointed by the food. The salmon was very well cooked but there was no flavor. It was not seasoned. The garlic fries seemed like they were tossed into raw garlic. I love garlic but this was too raw for fries. My friend got the churrsaco steak and was not impressed. I thought the steak was very dry, but I don't have a previous experience to compare it to so maybe that was the way it should have been prepared. The pricing is reasonable in my opinion but the portions are not large at all.

    Amazing Bar!

The food was excellent! I ate it before I took pictures but we had shrimp tacos, cilantro chicken with saffron rice and the Cuban taco. The Cuban taco is a must try for sure, everything was delicious. The service was great, Amy helped us out and she was so friendly. The ambiance was so nice, good music, the bar looks outstanding; I'm sure it's popping at night, I can't wait to come back and hang out at the bar. They have a fantastic patio as well that I will definitely be back for once it's warm weather. I did snap some pictures of the restaurant before leaving. I highly recommend this place!

Nice ambiance, but the food had small portions and was very expensive. My brother got the steak sandwich. It had one slice of steak and the sandwich was very small. Salsa and chips are $8 dollars. We had the chicken plate too, which had a thin chicken slice and an off tasting sauce. We were very excited about iCantina coming to West Homewood, so hoping it will improve! There was also a beard hair in my entree :(

My husband and I dined inside on a Wednesday night at about 6:00. The inside aesthetics are so cute! You order at the register what you want and seat yourself with a number for your food to be brought out when ready. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We used to visit the Cantina food truck in the area a good deal when we lived in Lakeview area we were both very excited to hear about the restaurant opening a few months ago. My husband got the peach margarita with Cuban fries and I ordered the prickly peach margarita with steak nachos. We also ordered cheese dip and salsa. The margaritas were delicious and I really liked the food. I will say that the salsa did not taste like traditional salsa to me, but I did like it. My husband loved his Cuban fries. The steak on the steak nachos was seasoned well just like the Cantina food truck and I really enjoyed it. Was a little pricey (the margaritas were a little over $13.00 a piece), but other than that our experience was excellent.

One thing I really liked was the wide variety of protein options on the menu. I ordered two tripa tacos and was very happy with the flavor. The tripa was well-seasoned, and the tacos were satisfying overall. The staff on the truck were friendly and patient while I decided what to order, and I never felt rushed. My food was prepared quickly, which I definitely appreciated. The only downside was the price. I paid around $11 or $12 for two tacos, which is a bit more expensive than the food truck I usually visit. That said, I assume the higher price is due to the Lakeview location. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and would definitely stop by again if I'm in the Lakeview area.

Where do I begin?…read more First of all, the restaurant is very colorfully decorated, which instantly brightens the mood. We were able to seat ourselves, and immediately afterwards the waitress brought complimentary salsa and chips as she took our drink and food order. The salsa and chips were very good. The chips were crisp and freshly made and the salsa had just the right amount of kick to it. It was sweet and unique and I could see myself ordering it as a to-go order. For our entrees, I ordered 3 street tacos and cheese dip. My guy ordered the steak fajita plate. After a short wait, our food arrived, hot and fresh off the grill. I wasn't a fan of the pollo taco. It was bland and lacked any type of flavor. However, the campechano and chorizo versions were much better. The cheese dip stayed watered down even after it cooled but had a good flavor to it. I looked up to see my guy reaching for the salt shaker several times. I tasted a small serving of his steak. Yall..,.I kid you not. That steak had no type of seasoning-no salt, no pepper, no nothing had been sprinkled on it. To sum it up...it was overcooked and under seasoned. He kept trying to doctor the dish up by adding salt and pepper but after a while stopped because that should've been done in the cooking of the dish. He only ate a 1/3 of his dish. Upon paying the check, he attempted to share his disappointment with the waitress, who now all of a sudden, doesn't understand English. Keep in mind, we had been communicating with her just fine throughout our time there. Needless to say, we will not be returning to the restaurant location anytime soon. I've visited the truck before and will return there.
