Finally stopped in this cute little coffee shop in Coal Creek Canyon. Super fresh coffee . Big latte' variety, fresh baked goods, and art classes. There is a list of art classes by local artists held in this coffee shop. There is various artworks from local artists for sale as well in the shop Very friendly service I will go back and maybe take an art class

Stopped by the shop on the way to the mountains and loved everything we got! Lots of coffee flavors to choose from and alternative milk options. I got a cold brew with peppermint chocolate and oat milk. Also got a black bean burrito. It was a decent size and nicely seasoned! The burrito comes with potato, eggs, green chili, cheese, and choice of protein. And they give you a side of salsa They had other pastries and hand pies, all enclosed in the glass case. The burritos were premade in the case too and you can ask them to heat it up for you. They have a few tables inside or outside on their patio. Would highly recommend stopping by if you're driving by!

Had an excellent stops over at Coal Creek Coffee a few weeks ago! With the sun shining and the wildflowers blooming, I followed Coal Creek from the plains up the hills. It's a beautiful ride, and definitely quieter than the neighboring canyons. A few miles up lies the village of Coal Creek and this coffee shop! They have a fair amount of food and drinks for the area, and there's a nail salon and more next door. There's plenty of food offerings and lots of extra stuff to buy too. I grabbed a blueberry muffin and an iced vanilla latte. Tasted great! And a great snack. I could see coming back from the mountains and doing a nice meal here soon. Thanks and see you next time!

There are a lot of great coffee shops around the Denver metro area but Canyon Coffee is officially our favorite! Right inside the foothills, it is a beautiful quick getaway. Canyon Coffee is full of delicious food (savory and sweet), not to mention sooo many hot and cold drink options. There are options for all food preferences including gluten free, dairy free, and vegan. Very friendly owner and baristas as well as cozy feel with local art and unique gifts make it so fun to visit. Whether passing through on the way to bigger mountain adventures or looking for a place to rest, Canyon Coffee has something for everyone including canine companions!

The location is very small and unassuming. Easy to miss but really an awesome gem for locals living in Coal Creek Canyon. They are a very small operation and locally run so things move a little slower here but you can tell it is done with a lot of love and care. If I had only visited once this would have been a five star review but we went twice and the second time was a hugely different and mostly negative experience. The first trip was incredible and we LOVED everything. The second time a different barista was there and she really did a poor job that made it very hard to want to return. The first time a very pleasant young man served us and was prompt, attentive and made an excellent drink! We got the special s'mores latte iced with a homemade sourdough cinnamon roll. The latte was amazing! So flavorful and well made. We left extremely happy! We went back a few days later and had a totally different experience. We waited well over a half hour (I even had time to go get gas and come back) before we even ordered. The barista was extremely timid and we could barely hear her as she spoke with us. She wouldn't even make eye contact even though we were very kind and told her we understood the wait since they were small. We got breakfast burritos and the same s'mores latte. The latte was downright awful sadly, a total 180 from the other day. It tasted burnt, had no flavor, and the cup was only filled half up. We asked why and we're told there was room for cream which I have never heard of in a latte before. It was even more expensive than the previous day too despite ordering the same thing. The breakfast burrito also was not good. Very soggy, no flavor, and the barista avoided us as we attempted to get some salsa to add some much needed flavor. Overall, very inconsistent. If I had only come the first time it would have been a five but if I had only come the second time it would have been a two star review. Hopefully in the future they can work out some inconsistency issues.

Unassuming entrance and I'm so happy we visited!!

I went away for 20 years and returned to my beloved San Francisco, only to find the bakeries that had the best sourdough are now gone. Boudini's is the big name now but it is a far cry from the sourdough I grew up on. Even the extra sour is not close. I was sad for years thinking great sourdough was just a sweet memory. But Saturday, I made my way to Grateful bread and bought on of their loafs of sourdough. I got home and thought I would try a taste of it. OMG! My Genuine San Francisco sourdough is back !!! I am so happy now. I was just going to have one slice but I have already had 5 slices and it isnt even meal time yet. It takes all my strength to hold back from getting piece number 6. I want to say thank you Grateful Bread for making a product like it used to be made. No short cuts or inferior product to cut costs, just good honest bread. Also got your white bread and hamburger buns, so very good! Next time I will buy other breads to that were recommended by the great people waiting outside with me. Definitely want to try the Rosemary sea salt sourdough and the almond croissants, they say are to die for. It is 40 miles round trip from my home so I will have to try to keep it down to every other week. Needless to say, I highly recommend Grateful Bread Company.

Parking was limited, and it is way awkward to get in and out with a car. We got the "fiona" (a mango-kiwi dessert), a "scarlett" (raspberry chocolate dessert), berry-licious croissant tart, and a lemon madeleine. The "fiona" was perfectly balanced with a solid mango and kiwi flavor coming through. It had creamy component, a cake component, and a fruit component with a glaze. Not too sweet, but certainly sweet enough to satisfy a sweet tooth craving. The "scarlett" was intensely raspberry in the mousse component. The raspberry jam on top brought the sweetness to temper the tartness of the mousse, and the chocolate cake and chocolate cookie components also balanced out the dessert with a nice natural bittersweet from the cocoa component. The fruit croissant tart had nice fruit on it, and the cream component reads like a yogurt. The croissant part itself was very tasty and makes me excited to try their original butter croissant next time. And finally, the Madeleine was very impressive. I am not a fan of frosting-like stuff on Madeleines, but this worked so well because it was not too sweet. Very balanced flavors, yet again, with some of that natural bitterness again that contrasts so excellently with the flavors. If I could only use key words to describe their desserts, it would be: beautiful, balanced, complex, and natural. I won't be able to come here often due to how far away I live from here, but I know that I will be back.

We finally decided to check out the shopping and dining district. Rheinlander was our final (and best!) stop. The bakery dates back to 1963 and is now on the third generation of ownership. The quality is certainly being maintained at a high level. This is a traditional, German bakery with a huge variety of authentic European cakes, cupcakes, sweet and savory pastries, pies, cookies, coffee cakes, and the only reason I think a German bakery should exist--strudel! Strudels are available whole, half, or by the slice. The usual flavors are apple, cherry, blueberry cream cheese, cherry cream cheese, and Boston cream. We bought slices of the apple, cherry, and blueberry cream cheese. These were perfection and absolutely delightful. I was totally focused on the strudel case (yes, there's a lot of strudel on offer), but I believe there are eight huge cases of treats, each one looking more enticing than the next. Quite a few gluten-free, sugar-free, and dairy-free options are available, so if that's what you need, this is the place for you. The bakery was moderately busy during our visit. There was plenty of staff and they were all friendly, helpful, and very efficient, so purchases moved swiftly. Lots of coffee and drink options are available. There's nice outside seating if you can't wait to take your goodies home. It's a long drive for us, but we were really impressed and we'll find a reason to visit Arvada so we can stop back soon.
