The sandwich, a club, was fantastic. Strangely the coffee was quite awful, I'm not sure whether it is a bad batch of beans improperly roasted or equipment not cleaned. At first I perceived it was the half and half, I returned the coffee and used oat milk, the bitterness and rather terrible taste remained. Now, likely this is a 'one off' , otherwise the establishment wouldn't have much foot traffic. End of May 2026, highly recommend the club and I will have to try more. Excellent sourdough loaves, sandwiches, and all of their fresh baked sweet and savory treats such as brownies and croissants. If you had to have one dessert, their Kouign Ammans are just the best if you're able to secure some before they're gone. Even their salads, yogurt and rest of the freezer items are pretty good, albeit a little pricey. We've heard about their Pizza nights, will hopefully get to try that sometime soon. Tip: Get there early especially on weekends to grab fresh baked goods. read more

I had a great lunch at Moxie Bread Co! We got two sandwiches and two cookies. The sandwich bread was phenomenal, and complemented the flavor of the meats. The Sicilian sandwich spread is a little bit spicy but the bread tones it down well. I really liked the Le Club sandwich with turkey and bacon. Both were dressed with fresh salad greens. We tried the toffee pecan and ginger molasses cookies, which were great, and only $3.75 a piece. I also got an iced salted maple latte with oatmilk. Also very good! They bake bread and pastries in-house with locally sourced heirloom grain flour. They make breads with slow fermentation processes making the end product delicious and overall better for your body. AKA: A really high quality. You can purchase loaves of bread as well as grain flour and sourdough starter. They have options for vegetarians, vegans, and those that are gluten-free. In addition to sandwiches and pastries, they have salads, sides, and a nice coffee bar. The only alternative milk offered is oat milk. There's a cute little shop inside as well featuring local, artesian goods and foods. I like that there is indoor seating and a nice outdoor patio area along the main street. Overall, the quality and taste really made this spot worth a visit, I certainly will be back to try more things! read more

Lately I've been baking with Moxie flours at home and they are amazing! I recently bought a bag of a reputable brand of whole wheat flour from the supermarket and it didn't even come close to the Moxie flour's taste and texture. It was like eating sawdust in comparison. Moxie flours are more expensive than what I can get at a standard grocery store but they're worth every penny. read more

Update: the owner was kind enough to respond to my prior review and share they are not able to warm up items on site as the baked goods are shipped in. This will become one of my places I'll order out to take some things home when guests are in town or I'd try their pastrami and Swiss sometime as well I'll begin by saying this place is good, expensive but good. I bake my own bread and there's a line every weekend so I haven't felt the need to go but decided to give it a try. I got the almond cinnamon roll with lemon glaze and my gf got a croissant and cortado. I asked to have the cinnamon roll warmed up and the guy at the register said, "We actually don't warm up cinnamon rolls here." It's a $7 cinnamon roll that'll leave me hungry in 30 minutes and you can't heat it up? Ever heard of someone eating cold cinnamon rolls? I sure haven't. Gave it a shot anyways and had to wait to get home to warm it up as I wasn't impressed. 9/10 warm and 4/10 cold. Should've asked for a refund when he said no. Won't be going back read more

I happened to be in the Louisville area for lunch and thought I'd stop by Moxie Bread Co to check out their pastries--heard they're one of the few bakeries in CO that sells kouigan amanns. Those became one of my faves after living in Hawaii. I ended up ordering 3 different pastries to take home--chocolate croissant, caramel apple danish, and key lime cheesecake kouigan amann. It wasn't until I got home that I realized I was given the wrong kouigan amann, which was a tad bit disappointing. Instead of the key lime cheesecake flavor, it was some kind of strawberry and almond flavor. I like almond flavored pastries so it wasn't a terrible error, just not what I was expecting. The chocolate croissant was just okay, wouldn't get it again if I were to stop by this bakery again. Haven't tried the danish yet, so we'll see. The staff member who took my order was nice and friendly, but the price of the pastries (almost $20) wasn't worth it, in my opinion. I wouldn't make a special trip here even if I was craving a kouigan amann--I can get one here in Boulder--but I'm glad I tried this place since it's been on my list for some time. read more

The bakery itself is a cute cottage style in the center of downtown. Every morning the community of Louisville and Boulder slowly trickle in and you can see everyone in town making their way towards it. The service was fantastic. The staff are friendly,fast and knowledgeable and genuinely care about what they do. The food was the piece de resistance I think I could eat here every morning and not get sick of it. To top it all off they mill in house with their own heritage grains and sell their bread daily. read more

Such a cute bakery and cafe in Louisville. There's some seating inside but way more space outside. Outside is covered so it's not directly in the sun but it can still get a bit sunny. The chairs are tree stumps. The inside is cute and has eclectic decor. The bread here is to die for. I recently just tried the cafe for the first time. The spicy chai wasn't too spicy but tasted good. The raspberry lemon cruffin was amazing. There was so much filling so it was a bit messy to eat but that's the perfect cruffin. Also not too sweet. What a treat to stop at Moxie Bread in Louisville for lunch today. When you walk in, you can smell the amazing artisan breads and pastries that are freshly baked. I ordered the Roasted Tomato and Red Pepper soup. Incredibly rich and thick. The grilled cheese Panini was the best grilled cheese sandwich I've ever tasted. Oh wow, the delish bread and decadent cheese. My wife was super impressed with the Via Moxie Sandwich. Yum! I hope we make another trip to Moxie for breakfast before we leave on Sunday. I can understand why Moxie was a James Beard semi-finalist in 2018 and 2019. They would get my vote for the best local bakery in the country. read more

The New Caledonia Sandwich has officially become the BEST, MOST TASTY AND MAGICAL sandwich I've had this year. It's filled with hummus, cucumbers, roasted tomato, fresh basil, green goddess and greens. It's extremely well balanced while being a burst of flavor, and it's VEGAN for all my vegan foodies that may have a hard time finding options out. You gotta come here! Also, if you need some meat in your sandwich, Moxie's definitely has some amazing options. Prior to discovering my vegan gem, I'd order the Via Moxie 2.0 Sandwich (a take on an Italian style sandwich) or the Le Club Sandwich (a version of a Turkey Club). Both, very delicious! The staff wraps these sandwiches up great to grab n' go. So if you are headed to the Front Range for a hike, stop off the highway and get it for your hike! The lines, they don't matter. Every thing here is yum! I've been a customer since the before times. I love the croissants, the pastries with hard to spell and pronounce French names, the fancy breads and the sandwiches. The coffee is excellent as well. In warmer weather, I like to have my meal at their outdoor tables. The space indoors can get a bit tight and I feel uncomfortable hearing the conversations by the folks on a first date, which is unfortunately the scourge of good coffee shops. But I respect the effort to find a life partner (or something less permanent), so more power to the daters! read more

Oh my gosh, this place's bread & pastries are divine!! I've been here a couple of times for breakfast on our way to hike in the mountains, and we most recently stopped for some loaves of bread. The freshly baked loveliness is just so crunchy, yet soft, and so full of flavor. I got a seeded sourdough, and a longer sourdough loaf, and they were both amazing. Great food, speedy service, friendly staff! We ordered a sandwich, the apple pie chia pudding, a beer, and an apple cider and all of our items were ready within 5 minutes. The chia pudding is surprisingly filling, pre-made in small mason jars so they'd be very easy to take to go, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! The seating is limited, and they are still observing social distancing, so the only "dine-in" options are the wooden tables outside. The seats are literal stumps and the tables are live edge. I liked the ambience and the perfect fall weather we had for sitting outside. Probably not the best option for a group unless you were getting everything to go. I look forward to coming back and trying more of their menu and getting some of their bread to go. read more

The Jerusalem bagel was phenomenal. My partner enjoyed all the flavor it came with. The wagyu panini was really cheesy! & had a huge amount of mustard (too much for my liking). No worries tho I never let things go to waste! We sat outside because there was so many people. The place is small which was expected due to it being a house. Staff was friendly and didn't really give any help with what to order. Chai (sweet) was not very chai to be honest. Did not like the flavor or the after taste. I keep going back to Moxie because there's stuff I love, but each time I leave thinking it's not worth it. Last week was no different, except that I went for lunch with a group of friends and all of them were far from impressed with the food and service. A little bit to my relief because with all the great reviews, I was wondering if I was just too picky. I'll start with what I like and why I keep going back. The shaded patio behind Moxie is perfect for groups and the atmosphere inside is cosy and inviting. I love their Kouign Amann, the King Egg, the Ham & Cheese Croissant, which are all perfect options for breakfast, but I find their coffee bitter (and a couple of my friends don't like their cup of Joe either). To me, it's really lunch that's disappointing. Last time I had the avocado toast and I ended up with a big chunk of mashed avocado on grilled bread. That's it. To be fair, I don't like cucumber, so I asked for my order without it, but still! No little bit of onion, or tomatoes or whatever. A couple for my friends ordered the sandwich and were not impressed (I gave up on their sandwich a long time ago). Moxie is popular for their bread, but it seems like it was days old and soft. One of my friends can't eat pork and asked if they would switch the bacon for something else, to be told harshly that it would cost extra (I thought anything else would be cheaper than bacon, but I guess not at Moxie). The kale salad had so much garlic (and I do love garlic!) that we joked it was lucky we were not going on a date later that day. And then, there's the service (or lack of since you order and grab the box with your name on it), which I've never been impressed with. I understand they are usually busy, but a little smile goes a long ways. For a small business it's surprising but I feel more like I am visiting a big fast-food chain, totally impersonal (unless you know the staff, then I noticed the experience seems very different). I may go back again to grab one of the pastries I like, but my friends asked me to remove Moxie from our list of lunch spots. And I must admit I have to agree with their decision. read more

Oh my word. This place is amazing!!! It was recommended by a friend since we were visiting the area. We stopped by to try some of their pastries for breakfast. We got the highly recommended King Egg pastry. It's basically a savory Kouign Amann. It looks like the flavor does rotate and today it was broccoli, maybe cauliflower, cheese and curry (flavor was not very present). It tasted like a quiche in a croissant with crispy, flaky layers. It's something quite unique!! Have to try when you visit. We were also highly impressed by the lemon raspberry cruffin that we got. Being a fan of all things croissant I was excited to try it. It was out of this world. We did not expect that it was filled with this lovely, sweet and tart raspberry cream that overflows when you cut it open! And once again the layers were epic and everything just came together for a perfect bite! We also got a ham and cheese croissant which was good (though since it's more common, it didn't wow us or anything but was what it should be). I didn't take a pic of a plain croissant we got to take home. For drinks I got their vanilla latte which is really tasty (better than the average) and my husband got a latte with salted maple syrup which they make in house I think. From lattes to baked goodies, Moxie never disappoints. The quality is consistent whether you're staying or taking drinks to go. If you need a baked loaf for holidays (or daily life), the Moxie sourdough is delicious. My only wish is that they had more extensive interior seating. I would love to settle in for an afternoon to work, but this is often difficult as their seating area is small and usually full. read more
