I ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage, green bell peppers, onions, and eggs with buttery hash browns on the side, plus the soup of the day which was the Tuscan soup, and both were really good. One of my friends ordered the cinnamon roll pancake, another got the classic breakfast with buffalo sausage (which was surprisingly delicious), and the other ordered a meatless breakfast burrito. Everything at the table looked fresh and hearty. I also loved how easy checkout was. They bring the receipt directly to the table with a QR code so paying was quick and convenient, and our server was super accommodating by splitting the bill four ways with no issue. The restaurant itself has that cute cozy cabin-style feel, plus they sell fun T-shirts and souvenirs inside. Extra shoutout for helping me wrap my breakfast burrito to go before our flight. They brought me foil paper so I could keep it warm, tossed it in my bag, and yep... I ended up eating it on the plane later. Definitely a solid five-star breakfast stop while visiting Yellowstone!

Canyon Lodge Cafeteria - Dinner was entirely cold. Had to put it all in the microwave. After that it was ok. Much better than the Asian food.

Line was long and I found out why when I got closer to the front - they were out of many items so had to explain everything they were out of to everyone who then had to pivot because they'd waited so long in line. Seems no one anticipated how many guests they'd get over a holiday weekend. When it was finally our turn, 3 more staff came out to help the 2 girls at the counter, speeding up the line. We ended up getting the last bits of pot roast, which is the same beef they use for open-faced beef sandwich. They were out of carrots or mashed potatoes or Mac n cheese so we got chicken noodle soup with green beans. Our portions looked very different from the 10 before us since we got a new server. Much smaller- the soup was really just soup - I had to ask for more meat. Meat was tender but very salty. Green beans was the best but we added seasoning ourselves (s&p on tables). Soup was somehow cold, and our cup didn't have any fillings in it. Right after we started eating, we saw everyone after us seemed to have gotten fresh meat and sides - big portions of thick beef slices, mounds of mashed potatoes.. just our luck. Feel bad, staff was just doing their best but very frustrating for us guests.

Little dinner vibe here with counter top seating style at Canyon Sods Fountain with limited…read moreselection of food and bit more restrictive on the to go menu board display. For the negative reviews, simply understand one is in a busy national park with food designed to quickly be served to a large crowd of people. Canyon Village is one of the larger stops and gathering areas within Yellowstone so have a bit of patience and understanding. Yes it is theme park style food with limited options, I wasn't expecting a James Beard Award meal here. For the wait, had a part of 5 took about 10 mins to get seated for our party. You are provided a buzzer when ready so you can shop the store for gifts or groceries in the mean time. I wasn't very hungry and grabbed chili and huckleberry float which hit the spot for me. Neither item was to write home about, but took care of topping off prior to getting back on the road for some more park adventure. Should it be crowded there is a to go kiosk in which you can order and not wait to be seated. There are other options as well if coffee and a quick snack or hotdog is to your liking the grocery side has that counter. There are also some quick bite sandwiches one can grab on that side as well. Prices are what are to be expected within this venue, but not over the top. Enjoy the stop and experience in Canton Village, just expect crowds and wait times in busy season or depending on time of the day you stop in. Oh plenty of parking available with huge lot for cars and RVs to accommodate, multiple items within the immediate area to include Jr Ranger Center, Education Center, pizza parlor, etc.

Great food fast and came out hot! Price were reasonable. I tried the Bison burger it was AWESOME!read more
