    Elk and Bison Chili
    Irene T.

Tried the elk and bison chili here and it was so good, hearty, packed with meat, tomatoes, and beans, served with jalapeño cornbread on the side (sweet with a little kick, plus butter and honey for dipping). Also got the bison burger with cheese and bacon, and the patty was juicy with a great sear, def a nice change from a regular beef burger. Great spot if you want to switch things up from the usual menu! It has a very cozy vibe inside! The restaurant also has portraits for salw on wall which was very cool to see!

Chilie made with elk and bison. Phenomenal tasking!

The menu choice were wide ranging. Everyone in our party of four enjoyed their choices. The service was good. We were lucky to get in because they are always so busy.

Best restaurant anywhere near Yellowstone Park. Fresh baked goods in the pastry case, properly cooked burgers, fresh creative salads, properly prepared fresh vegetables, and lots of homemade rib-sticking dishes like chili and Mac & cheese. No notes

Our server was an artist with some art on the wall and excellent. We had the burger, wings, and salads. The salads were crisp, fresh, sizable with great home made croutons and dressing. The wings are large And seasoned perfectly. The winner was definitely the burger which was moist, tasty, with an excellent aioli!!! Try the ipas! We will be back!

We stopped into Wonderland Cafe and it ended up being a great stop just outside the Roosevelt Arch entrance of Yellowstone. The town itself is quaint, and this felt like a perfect place to grab a bite before heading into the park. We ordered the wild game chili, which was really flavorful and hearty, along with the loaded tots, which were a fun addition to the meal. Inside, the space has great decor with local artwork that adds to the overall feel of the place. It felt welcoming and fit the area well. Overall, a great stop for us and a place I would recommend if you are heading into Yellowstone from this entrance.

Unbelievably amazing food, service, and dining experience! My wife and I found the Wonderland Cafe after a full day at Yellowstone. The atmosphere was brisk but inviting. Our server, Luke, was knowledgeable and responsive. We enjoyed an outstanding spinach artichoke dip, brown butter sage pasta, and the wild game chili with the best cornbread on the planet. Highly recommend!!

Wonderland is a gem! Employees in the store in Mammoth recommended Wonderland when we asked about a place to eat and stay nearby. Very friendly people and excellent food. We tried the garlic bread, a flatbread with goat cheese, prosciutto, peaches and the wild game chili. The flatbread was surprisingly a bit bland for us but the garlic bread with the pesto & balsamic glaze was DE-licious. And do not miss ordering the chili. So flavorful with just the right amount of spice and seasoning. The cornbread that sits atop the dish was perfection! Great ambiance with a fireplace, cozy seating and art on the walls. They've got a beautiful pastry selection too but we were too full to get anything.

We stopped in for lunch after spending some time in the park and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. Everything we had was amazing including the chili mac and cheese not pictured here. The place was lively and our server was fantastic. We had a great time here and highly recommend to others traveling through.

The gluten free. Jalapeño Cornbread started disappearing before I could get a pic! Mmm-delish!

We were in Gardiner for touristy activities. I packed a cheese sandwich for lunch not expecting to find a 'safe' gluten free place to eat. Lo and behold... Wonderland Cafe appeared! They have a variety of GF items. I ordered buffet style so I could sample different things. (I'm not use to having so many choices.) I had the pulled pork sandwich, GF mac & cheese and jalapeño corn bread. The pork is cooked with apples and onions it is not BBQ style but is still good. The cheese in the mac & cheese was delightful, they use the GF fat penne for the noodles. The cornbread was the star of the GF show today. It was gone in just a few minutes. (The gluteners I was with enjoyed it just as much as me.) I really enjoyed eating here and appreciate not only having GF options but feeling food safe while I eat. Be prepared, it is very busy and was on the noisy side just because of the crowd. Even though it was extremely busy the waiter patiently answered all of my Gaf questions. Thank you Wonderland!

Ambiance // Trendy, hippy. & definitely cool. Parking // A little challenging during the peak tourist times. Late May - Early September. Food // Locally sourced goodness. Since Covid they doen scaled their menu items. Please see attached menu photos. Service // As always, very friendly & prompt. Coffee // Definitely a town winner. Cool place to hang out on a rainy Saturday afternoon or a great place to grab a bite to eat before or after the adjacent National Park. Ask for Daisy, she's the best

Our second visit here was Monday evening and the food, service and overall experience was not very good. On Thursday we were given a children's menu, on Monday none was offered. We asked for the BBQ chicken sandwich for my 1 year old, but asked for just the chicken, no bun and the sauce to be on the side. Was served exactly as we asked. On Monday it was served just as it is on the menu, we had to send it back as my baby won't eat any sauce on chicken. Which is why we wanted it on the side so we can continue to try to introduce sauce to him but also get him to eat some plain chicken. On Thursday I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries. It was great. On Monday I had the quesadilla with barbicoa beef. The meat was excellent, but the bottom side of my quesadilla was soggy, not crispy at all and wet when it was served to me. On Thursday my husband had the Dizzy buffalo burger with the cheese curds, he liked it. On Monday he had the Westerner sandwich, he said it wasn't great. He ended up only having a couple of bites. I'm not sure what the difference was, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that hopefully they were just having an off night. Round out the two visits at 3 stars. I'd give them another shot if we visit again since one time was a really great experience.

We ordered the burrito, which was a great item to split. They put the cheese on top of the burrito.. and were out of knives, so in order to eat it... we had to pry it apart with the plastic spoon and forks that we got. The chili was a complete disappointment.. I was really looking forward to it.. there was ONE block of meat... again, no knives so you couldn't really try and cut it apart and enjoy it in a few bites either.. The place has a great presentation, but the food and rules in general were a huge let down.

Also - if you drink coffee - the espresso machine was broken. My husband wanted a biscuit breakfast sandwich with sausage - they were out of biscuits. So I got him a bagel breakfast sandwich with sausage instead. I ordered sausage links for my baby, I asked if they had any kind of fruit I could buy for my baby. They said no that they only had bananas for smoothies - which is odd being a place that sells fruit smoothies... For myself I ordered a croissant sausage breakfast sandwich and a mango madness smoothie). My mother in law wanted a lotus energy drink - but they were out of lotus syrup. A few minutes later the gal that rang us up came to our table and let us know they were out of sausage for breakfast sandwiches. Asked what we wanted instead. They still has sausage links, so that's what we had on our sandwiches. When our food was ready they brought everything over except the sausage for my baby - which they clearly forgot to make cause that was a long wait till it arrived (5 or more minutes). Putting food in front of a hungry baby and none of it is for him is not a good idea lol. My husband ended up giving him his sausage and wait to eat his sandwich till they brought more over. I also gave my baby some of my smoothie - the smoothie was good. So, out of several items, and forgot part of our order.... Just seemed a bit chaotic. Food and smoothie was good and the people who work there are nice.

We stayed primarily in the dining area but also noticed that the restaurant appears to have a bar and maybe casino in the backroom? A huge plus is a souvenir shop featuring tons of Huckleberry products next door. Now on to the food! We were very impressed. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and I ordered the bison burger. The servers were all so friendly and kind and super helpful, recommending the bison to be cooked medium. The food portions were generous, the fries were crispy, and the bison burger was juicy with the right amount of tomato, lettuce, pickles, and melted Swiss cheese to make the flavors pop. Could you tell how much we loved the food? To top it all off, we ordered dessert and had the most delicious Huckleberry cobbler with Huckleberry ice cream. I asked the waitress if that was too much Huckleberry, and she said the ice cream was a hit -- it really made the dessert. Oddly, it was reminiscent of breakfast, but in the best way. The cobbler was warm, the Granola was crunchy, and the ice cream was cool and sweet. The medley of textures honestly made this the best dessert I've had this year. Hats off to the Yellowstone Mine staff and chefs for making the start of our trip so memorable!
