However, the body needs some physical help - like taking a bath, cooking meals, doing laundry, etc For piece of mind, my aunt lives at Brookdale. The staff are very nice and check on her to make sure that she remembers daily tasks such as coming to the dining room, taking her medication, and more. She has a private room and bathroom. The big screen TV that my cousin installed is great! She enjoys her puzzle books, letter writing, and chatting with her family. I'm so glad that Aunty is staying at a nice, safe place! It's makes me want to visit her more because there's no foul odors, temperature checks are done upon entry, and aunty's room feels like her old home!

I love to acknowledge good service and kindness and it was easy as baking a cake. I was impressed with the flexibility of the administrative staff; as our friend needed to cancel an appointment, then he rescheduled twice for a tour. The receptionist, Stacey, went above and beyond the call to find and deliver some delicious food without a reservation. Ashley was both direct yet gentle when doing a health assessment, and the chef also was most accommodating. Last, not least, both Marisa and Audrey S. were the icing on the cake as they made us feel welcome and look forward to coming back!

I would not recommend this place. I also called to speak with the manager about the experience, but neither EJ Lewis, nor Andre still have time to contact me. I left my email and phone number for follow up. About some of the issues I mentioned, but recently attempted to have my lawyer call them about some of the concerns, again doesn't appear that anyone wants to talk to me about it. When dad first moved in, everything was top notch... but after about 18 months, I started to notice that things were going down hill... None of the staff were happy, and when many of them moved on to work at other facilities, it was a huge loss to Novellus.... I was at the point where I was looking for a new place for pops... Luckily, Emily was let go several months ago, and replaced by EJ ... Since then, EJ , Shayla and Elizabeth have really turned the place around, and into the place that my dad moved into in the first place!!! My dad had a rough last 4 months, but the love and care from all of the nurses like Michelle, Sylvia, Perla, Elka, Minerva, Antonia, Sam, Cristina and several others, really made a difference, as they all had a way of getting my pops to smile!!! I was there every night to see my dad, and I got to know all of the staff well... The ones that have been there for a while, combined with the ones that were recently hired with the new management, are all amazing!!! What a beautiful community! I went today to pick up a former coworker who now lives there and go to…read morelunch in PB. We decided to stay on property and enjoy lunch in their dining room. What a gorgeous place to retire in! My friend's apartment is really stunning - very modern, spacious, and with high ceilings and a patio. The landscaping is beautiful; people can easily walk to the dining room or to one of the many activities they have; and if you become less mobile, they have golf carts that will pick you up. The also send meals to people's apartments if they are unable to walk. The chaplain was super cool; they have lectures and film screenings; and the food was pretty decent! The patio was lovely, and inside lots of people were dining with friends. They have a daily special and then a regular menu. We got the soup of the day first (potato leek) which was yummy, and then I had a decent mushroom swiss omelette. They didn't have Dijon mustard, but servers were very nice, and they unfold your napkins like you're in fine dining. My friend also loves the dog park, and the beautiful old trees on the property, and the views of the ocean and PB are stunning. And we saw friends of his along the way too, and he told me about some of the other very accomplished and interesting residents. Looks like a great place to retire if you can afford it! (though it is way up on a hill, so if you're driving yourself, be prepared for the way up to be winding).

This is my second review. It has been 6 months since my…read moresister has been a resident here. I'm there everyday from 2:45 to 7:00pm. I had to buy a new mattress because the old one was severely stained. When replacing the mattress I saw that the frame was infested with spiders. I cleaned and eliminated all the spiders. Out side of my sisters room is an area with an umbrella and some chairs. The cushions are worn and weathered. The old mattress with others are leaning against the outside walls of the other residence. Not a pretty sight. They are covered with blue tarps. There is a Hugh lack of communication when you don't understand the aids who (some only speak Spanish). Some do speak English. I've used my translator app to translate this to them. Doesn't work apparently when this happens day in and day out. My sister becomes very upset when she isn't able to communicate same as anyone who you depend on for your support. I've hired two full time caregivers and I'm there 28 hours a week. So my review has accurate information. If no one is at the front desk to let you enter or exit you have to wait until someone comes. Last night my caregiver waited ten minutes before she entered the facility. You need a code to unlock the doors. The understaffing (3) employees to serve the needs of 39 residents give or take 2 or three is an impossible task. My sister developed a rash on her chest from a lack of showers. One of My caregivers noticed this and it is being taken care of by them. The towels that are used are worn out and should be replaced. From holes to torn ends. I always have to ask for them because they don't replace them after my sister has showered. The dinner meals are pasta based. Some fish with overcooked vegetables. And a scoop of white rice. Turkey or egg salad Sandwiches have been served multiple times for dinner with a glass of juice and water always given. The two ladies who do laundry for all the 39 residents also clean the hallway and the residents Rooms. Way to much for two people to do a good job. I feel for them. The Mercedes Benz van that sits out front of the place does just that. Sits. No one who works there full time can drive it!!. The maintenance man is there two days a week and he is the only one I ever saw drive it to renew the registration. So don't plan on doing any sightseeing. Or keeping a doctors appointment unless you have transportation. The only reason my sister is there because I've had to hire two full time caregivers as I stated earlier and I live close by. I've asked the Administrator to have the cable company come and find out why more than a few channels are not getting good signals. The maintenance person tried but still not good. The blinds in my sisters room are in need of replacement not repair which has been tried more times than I can count. (I even tried). Leaving no privacy when one or more are missing.
