She then was with me every step of the way. We toured six different facilities, and after the first two, we realized we were very in sync to the type of care, the facility provided. Everything you read in these rave reviews about Lise Marquis is accurate, and please let us join the club. When we realized that my older sister needed to start thinking about moving out of her home and into a support facility due to memory issues, we knew we had to do something. But since my wife and I lived 500 miles away, we were not familiar with the options, nor did we understand even the first steps to take. It all seemed overwhelming. That's when our Google search turned up Lise. From that very first exploratory phone call, which lasted half an hour, my wife and I could tell Lise was a true professional who fully understood her area of expertise. She listened well, took her time to tell us about her services, and explained how she could help. We felt supported (and relieved) from that moment on! We drove to San Diego and met Lise at my sister's home for the initial assessment and we were immediately impressed. The clutter of the house, the barking dogs running around--nothing fazed her. She began her interview with care and compassion. She was able to address my sister's concerns and reluctance (Who wants to leave one's home after 33 years?) and answered so many of our questions. Lise suggested that at this stage, an independent living facility seemed most appropriate. She had the connections and lined up several places for all of us to tour, and my sister agreed to at least take a look. Much to our surprise, my sister felt very comfortable with one of them. A few weeks later, she signed up. The next step, however, was helping her move out. Once again, we immediately felt overwhelmed. We would need to go through her home, downsize years of possessions, pack the rest up, and move her into her new and smaller home. Lise helped us with that too, offering the name of a move-out company, Silver Linings Transitions, which specializes in helping seniors downsize decades of accumulation and move seamlessly into a smaller place. It all worked out beautifully well, and my sister is now living happily at Lantern Crest in Santee. Lisa found my mother in law a palace to live in for her final days. Give us tons of information and basically took us through the whole process all without charging a dime.
