The guide is loud and talks non-stop but far worse is that you don't have to be to " woke" to realize the history of the Mormons in Moab is about expanding their religious cult to appease their megalomania. Subjecting us all to the ignorant story that the Mormons were brave and entitled is offensive. They came and killed all the native Americans and stole their land while destroying their beautiful spirituality and connection to the land. The non-stop hagiography of the wonderful morons " taming " the "Indians" is just flat ignorant dilusuonal and offensive. Please go shove your egomania where it belongs. The scenery on the river ride was beautiful. The food was more like a church potluck or cafeteria food from an old folks home. The light show on the boat was very underwhelming. If you call a truck driving next to the boat with spotlights a light show....it should not be called a light show. The recording for the water tour was old and out if touch, odd religious facts mixed with indian info and rock formation info. Long and boring. I wish I could have jumped and walked to shore. read more

The view was amazing. The food was terrible and the recorded presentation was full of inaccuracies showcasing the white man as the savior of the land. Similar to being in history class in the 80's when Christopher Columbus was portrayed as the peace bringer and the Native Americans were the angry Indians. We must not have gotten the god mongering tour everyone keeps talking about. But I plan to do more tours! We did the one hour jet boat tour as we had our four year old with us and I figured that's about her attention span vs the three hour. Also she's not old enough for the sit and spin or spin and splash or whatever it's called... Our guide was Andrew and he's the best, I absolutely love his sense of humor and I learned a lot along the route. He's a great guide. We also had Natalie on the boat and she's probably the sweetest and most personable person I've ever come across. Super down to earth girl, and I felt like everyone thought she was approachable and easy to ask questions to. The boat ride itself was fun and my daughter kept saying so. Anyone under 13 has to wear a life jacket. But she sat on the side with her doll and they didn't mind that a bit, she also sat on our laps too. The view from the river is so crazy different from driving. I was shocked at the drastic change in perspective. We saw lots of roads we wanna find and chase down and it felt so nice to just be on the water. Can't wait to do more tours! read more

This was a very fun experience. The "cowboy" dinner was delicious and seemed true to the theme. Plenty of food and very tasty. Nice staff. The boat ride was well narrated. The lighting on the rocks was just gorgeous. All in all a great experience. Great tourist attraction to learn about the area and history.

We happened upon this with a Google search of things to do in Moab. We didn't know what to expect but we had a blast! My sisters and I ate good food in the buffet and then enjoyed a relaxing float down the Colorado with Tasha providing entertainment and commentary on the way down and a light show with Utah and Moab history on the canyon walls for the way back. The night sky showed off the stars! Taking my husband soon and just told my trainer about it. read more

You start with a family style dinner to fill to your hearts content and the people service the food are very amicable and always smiling! The tour guide and crew are very knowledgeable and friendly. They make the tour very smooth, educational and fun! You get to learn some geology of the area, history and local stories. The river location is impressive and when the sun goes down the show starts and its the best show that needs no technology to make it great. The regular beef was shredded and needed salt (maybe serve with condiments?) The cowboy potatoes on the other hand contained two much salt. The corn was good. The dinner rolls excellent. The Cole slaw was an excellent compliment to the pork- but the boiled pork also lacked flavor. The Apple crisp was good- why not serve with ice cream? In the end it didn't feel like the meal contributed to the $89 per person price tag. read more

I was always taught to first try to find the nice in everything. Here goes: I felt full after the dinner. It was then that we were cattle-herded onto a pontoon boat, sent along the river, and spoon fed an alarmingly racist and clearly dated vision of history in which the white man arrived and (for no apparent reason) the Ute Indians attacked and killed children. Who went - party of 6 from 17 to 73 years When - coldest night of the year! They were so sweet to provide blankets & had hot cocoa ready for us when we arrived back from the boat. The Ride - loved the history & cute jokes. It was really pretty lit up. We left while still it was still light & looked at pictures in the rocks as they told us some history. We've used this company in the past for tubing and had an incredible time. The entire process is very well organized, the van they drive you in is nice, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. We tried again today and were told by staff that it was probably too windy to go out today. We said we were experienced and could handle it, so they let us mistake! They ended up having to come get us 30 minutes later... apparently not as experienced as we thought. The entire staff was so kind to us despite our poor decision making. We will absolutely be returning next year, hopefully on a less windy day. read more

We purchased the night boat tour and dinner. The dinner was excellent, it was fun sitting with new people and meeting each other. Very organized. The disappointment came when the boat ride was canceled. It was too windy to venture out. They had hoped it would be possible after looking at the weather all day, but right before we were to board, they didn't want to take the risk. We understood, and it is actually very positive that they put safety over profits. They offered for us to come back the next day, but we already had flights out. It was such a great way to get a feel for the area and Rory, our boat captain and guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. Recently did Canyonlands by Night as part of a group. Dinner was nice. Boat ride started out nicely until dark set in and the Truck with the Flood Lights Along the Shore of the River started to light up the cliffs and rock formations (much to the chagrin, I'm certain, of oncoming traffic on that road). Then the sound system kicked in. Was it Mormon Bible Study? As someone who still feels guilt about stealing this beautiful land from the Indigenous Peoples, I don't ever want to hear about how God created this land for "us." I wanted to dive into the dark water and swim ashore at one point. Just stick to the geologic facts, please, and get rid of the religious component. We are not all believers in the White man's spiel. read more

To be honest, I'm very split in this. I'd give this a 2.5 if I could. Here's why: Its not a dinner cruise! Initially I couldn't help but feeling like I was being scammed. I expected dinner served on a boat. Instead it was a cafeteria style dinner shared with over 150 other passengers/diners prior to boarding the boat. You wont see that much! The boat is big and goes very slow. You will travel slowly up the river and after a few turns into the river you will stop, then turn around. The whole time you will hear a bunch of talk (jokes and very little facts). The light show felt truly like an indoctrination. Then, I learned to relax and enjoy it! Despite all the issues, I just eventually relaxed and enjoyed for what it was. A peaceful evening stroll down a calm river with stars above and fire flies below. Critters chirping away in darkness while the the light-painted canyons told their story by a narrator and occasional background music. The ending: In the beginning, the whole thing felt like a scam. But afterward, I found myself driving away with high spirits while singing "happy trails to you... until we meet again...". read more

Canyonland by night and Day canceled our boat cruise. ...excuse given - shallow water due to fire dept using water for the latest fire 3 weeks prior to our arrival and then two days later canceled once again the tubing event saying there was high wind and will last for few days. There are not God. Only God knows when wind will go away. We were beyond disappointed. I called later that day not identifying myself and was told the 2 pm just left. When I asked how many went the front desk lady said who is this. I immedialtely hung up. She obviously did not tell me the truth. Honesty is the BEST policy! We left Moab so disappointed. They ruined our vacation. Least they could have done was notify us the day before so we could have booked elsewhere. There was no high wind as we contacted other businesses that offer tubing and they told us they did not cancel any tubing that day and we even saw it for ourselves as we drove by the river. We were scheduled to leave the next morning so we could not book elsewhere. That is not professional. Please book in 2 places in case they cancel with you. If they were short on staff they should have done all what is necessary to make sure we had a pleasant and uninterrupted trip. Most come for 2 or 3 days so every minute counts. And btw if fire dept used river's water 3 weeks ago why did they let us book it 3 weeks after the fire. They should have known there was shallow water when we booked it on 7.4.21 approx few days before we arrived in Moab. This was unacceptable and needs to be addressed ASAP by management. We paid top dollar for our hotel stay and ended up doing nothing. This is not how a business should be run. Shame on you! read more

Excellent way to spend a leisurely evening on the river. A great Dutch oven dinner with 5 choices of meat, and yes, you can try all 5, plus they had leftovers for seconds! We were evenly spaced on the barge seat and told to sit back and relax. We even had a comedy routine thrown in. OK, corny jokes at best, but very entertaining. The show was narrated by the host for the first half of the river and we got to see how a little imagination from where the rocks fell created faces and animals. If you like cloud figures, this will be fun as well. The host even talked about how the canyon was formed and continuing to change. Ultimately, the light show which was narrated was the highlight of the evening. All in all, I would take my relatives on this trip if there is room. Book early. read more

Amazing experience. The UTV drive is intense with crazy climbs and dissents. Gets your heart rate up. We had our kids, pre-teen and teens anf everyone had an amazing time. Seem like a great group of people. Meal was fine - plenty to eat. Our comments would be 1) Need to update the program. Must be 50 years old at least. 2) The sound and light show is a set of floodlights on the canyon walls while a voice track plays. 3) *Need to be prepared for bad weather. Everything was fine when our boat left, but the lightning kept increasing during the trip. On the way back started a light rain. Eventually everyone was complaining and they decided to crank up the engines and get us back quicker. Which also meant water coming in over the front to drench us. Worse, an aluminum cover came off the life raft bay in the front. Hit a guy just over his eye and then flew over our heads. Didn't seem prepared because when we got back we were asked to wait for someone to go up the stairs and bring back the hand-rail. Also, no medical help waiting for the guy who got hit. People were jumping off the boat even before we finished docking. read more
