I would give this establishment -20 stars if I could! I was a regular at Cao Nails beginning about 20+ years ago, and referred more friends and family members than I can count. On my LAST visit the wife blew up at me and went completely psycho when I asked her a question. The husband stares & glares at me anytime I see him out & about in public. It's all just so bizarro!! Save your money and go to a nail salon with some integrity and respectful technicians!! My friend and I were new customers on a girls afternoon lunch and pedi. We had booked an appointment but were unexpectedly detoured due to road construction en route. We arrived exactly on time. I dropped my friend off at the door so I could figure out where their parking was. The gentleman who greeted my friend was rude and abrupt. We're new to the area and I haven't gotten my nails done in over 4 years so as a treat for my birthday, I decided to splurge! I checked around for pricing and looked at photos and went to Cao's Nails. Jenny did my pedicure and full set of acrylics. She did a fantastic job. My mom was 1 minute late due to traffic and was greeted, " you are late" on her last appt. My mom sincerely apologized but was treated with hostility throughout the appt. Near the end of the appt my mom asked if she had done or said something wrong, based on Jenny's treatment of her. Jenny responded by berating my mother saying you know you people from California are rude. My mother is 80 years old, sweet as can be, & has been going to Jenny for over 4 years, if I could get away with walking in this shop and slapping this Jenny silly, I would. She hurt my mother's feelings and that's just inexcusable. Ironically Jenny is also a transplant from California. Luckily my mother has found a new spot with nice people to do her nails now. Jen and her husband Cao own this place. Jen is so rude to the clients that I'm sure the only reason anyone returns is because the prices are dirt cheap. However, you get what you pay for and the pedicures are a joke. They cut yr nails paint them and then yr done. She gets yr nails done by not saying anything to you except when she makes rude comments. Do yourself a favor and find another place to have yr nails done. Rather rude & rough. Being new to the area I was looking for a place to get my nails done and went into Cao's. The first couple of times were okay other than I was told that I should make an appointment rather than just walk in, ok fine. About the 3rd time I was in for a fill, Jen was working on my nails when I casually asked what was included with one of their other services. She told me and knowing that I was from out of the area, she asked what I had been paying before. When I told her she started arguing that there was no way that could be correct, no place charges that, blah, blah, blah. How would she know where I have gone before to have nails done? She and Ken decided that they would discuss it in front of me also. She kept rotating my right hand rather roughly as if the 2 surgical scars on my wrist and hand were not indication of previous issues. I had to tell her I have had surgery in the past with that hand and it does not move the same, never before has that been an issue with a nail tech. She can argue her prices and services by herself all she wants but at the end of the day I still win, I'll take my business somewhere else. read more

I travel to AZ frequently from CA. I went there on a recommendation from a friend. I was not impressed at all. When she just filled around the cuticle area, I commented that my reg nail person took off all the old stuff and redid the nail completely. She said I've been doing this so many years and it's all done like she does it. After that she was very rude to me. I didn't tip, and will never return. What's bad: - attitude and service! The two people who work there carp continually, and gripe at clients about what the client is doing wrong. Friendly advice is great - I expect advice because they're the experts, I'm not. But the way these two almost gang up on a person, speaking shrilly, both talking over each other across the desks to tell a client where she's wring at a client is horrible. - the woman does sloppy work. She repeatedly filed my skin (rather than my nails), glued my skin to my nails (when using superglue to fix a chip), left uneven edges at the base of the fill, and left nail's outer edge uneven. What's good - prices are relatively low. - Ken is an artist, very good at his work. I was new to acrylics so it took me a few visits to realize how awful this place is. One story - they told me I had to get a fill every 2-3 weeks. I researched with friends and online and learned that people can go up to 5 weeks, if they don't mind the lower edge of course growing out. At about 2 1/2 weeks, I went in to get one chip fixed, and nailed polished. Didn't want the constant sanding down of my nail bed and fill. Both workers lit into me about having to get a fill every 2-3 weeks, it's all my fault my nails are loose (which they were not), and they couldn't fix the one and polish the rest. They insisted they had to remove all the existing acrylics. Not knowing better, I allowed them. 1) I know now that the effort they had to go to - chipping, cutting, and prying - to get the acrylics off made it pretty clear that they were NOT loose! 2) The act of prying off an acrylic peels another layer of natural nail off 3) Super glue can be used to fix loose acrylics 4) Acetone can be used to remove acrylics, without damaging the nail bed 5) The lady sanded down the already sanded and thin nail beds even more read more

Poor service. Very rude people who don't stand behind their work. I paid for gel nails that started coming off a few days later. I went back to have them fix it and they refused to fix it with the same product that i paid for and argued with me. They used a cheaper product that i could have bought at walmart and done myslef. I asked for the difference in cost back and they refused to give it. Their prices may be cheap but so is the quality of their work. read more
