We had the best experience at Capannari this evening! The staff was the friendliest and so kind with my children. They were patient and efficient and kept the line moving, while also giving everyone the attention they deserved! The ice cream was amazing, the Cosmic Cookie was by far the absolute BEST! Our whole family got it and talked everyone in line to get it. Go there before they rotate that flavor out!

This place is super cute and has a nice outdoor area to enjoy your ice cream and let your kids run around. i ordered a caramel praline and it was super tasty. if i was ever in the area, i would come back. don't sleep on this place!

Good ice-cream!! As soon as we went in, people were ready to help us, which is such a good feeling when going out! Good atmosphere too, there's not much room to eat inside, but in the summers, eating ice-cream outside is the best thing you could want!

If you are looking for a great dessert in Mount Prospect, look no further than Capanari Ice Cream. My husband and I came here with a Meet-up group to discover a sweet treat. When we got there there was a long line coming out the door and down the stairs. The line moved moderately quickly. We got an ice cream scoop flight to try several flavors. The scoop size for the flight was advertised as baby scoops, but we got full scoops. Needless to say, we were very full by the time we finished. The ice cream was yummy and we liked all four flavors. When you leave the restaurant, you will find a nice little park to eat your ice cream in. I highly recommend Capanari Ice Cream.

Capannari's never disappoints. On a Sunday evening, the lines was out the door, but moved quickly. They continue to have so many options and specials. I had the brownie sundae, which was amazing, my husband had a chocolate peanut butter malt and , of course, 2 doggie dips. Service was great and they never disappoint.

a mount prospect gem for sure! ice cream is generally all the same to me but this place is really special. the flavors are rich, creamy and delicious. i tried their choco taco and i'm in love now. you get the choice of toppings such as oreos, sprinkles, and can't remember the rest. it's super messy and the picture that i took of it in the box looks nothing special but it is a flavor bomb of deliciousness. the store is very small but plenty of outside seating. it seems to be run by very respectful and polite kids! definitely made for a special visit

Beautiful weather means time for Ice Cream! :) I am a sucker for ice cream, even more so when it's not the traditional branding we see in the frozen aisle of groceries stores. Capannari doesn't look like an ice cream please from the outside, it actually looks like a little house, next to it is a nice garden/plaza area where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream. When we walked in on a Saturday night, it was packed! When you get to the door the special is located on the right side of the door. And when you walk in, there's a how many scoops tall are you, I am 9.5 scoops! Haha. There have so many options, along with ways to get your ice cream. I ended up going with the Chocolate Ganache one! It was so creamy and no crazy sweet! My husband ended up with strawberry which is his favorite ice cream and mentioned that it didn't take like artificial strawberry flavors like most do! All in all, we have to come back and try the rest of the flavors soon!

Went with the family to get ice cream after dinner. Pretty good! Lots of ice cream toppings to choose from. Pricing is about what you'd expect to pay for ice cream. It has a great outside seating area with benches, lighting and a butterfly area. No seating inside. I ordered the decadent chocolate which was pretty good, and the fam got the sorbet and rocky road. Size was pretty generous. Would recommend!

Beautiful location with outside seating and a few stools inside (no seating upstairs). Staff were very friendly and helpful. They offered a few free tasting of some of their ice cream as we weren't sure which one to get as this was our first time at this ice cream shop. All the flavours we tried and got were awesome, I loved their peanut butter ice cream- as good as Graeter's, Laura secord and Shawn's (last two are Canadian brand). Definitely returning for more and will recommend to friends/family.

They added a vegan milkshake! They used oat milk, Oreos, and their vegan vanilla ice cream for the shake, it was delicious. It's great to have no -dairy options expanding here!

I love this place-- and if the lines are any indication, so does everyone else! I'm a chocolate fan and am lucky/ashamed to have tried most flavors containing even a little chocolate. All have been delicious. Cash only if the order is less than $10, plenty of parking available. read more

Decent ice cream shop. Definitely best in the area. I had scup of chocolate and pea can butter which were awesome and very fulfilling. Price is up there since one portion consisting of two scups is 6 bucks without any toppings. Avoid pseudo yogurt ice cream shops and go get some real ice cream. read more

This place is great. The quality is indescribable and the flavors mind blowing. I recently went in and got a dipped waffle cone with Rocky Road and vanilla. By far the best ice cream I've had. The service was quick and friendly. I asked for a few samples before I made my final choices. The line was out the door but everyone working was efficient and quick. They have great home made ice cream, made right on the premises. Many flavors to choose from as well as unique rotator flavors. Last night I had the rotator flavor of chocolate strawberry, It was delicious. This ice cream shop is in an old renovated building which is very cute inside. And there are a few tables and benches in and outside but there is also a very nice little park next to the shop with tables & benches and a beautiful garden atmosphere where you can enjoy your ice cream. . I love this place so much. The ice cream is just delicious, and they have so many flavors and are always rotating new ones in. When they have it, the licorice is amazing. I also love that they have ice cream flights where you can get four or five different flavors (in smaller sizes, of course). So when I can't decide what I want, I don't have to! The line does tend to get very long on hot summer nights, so best to go on the early side, before 7:30 if possible. There is a lovely park next to the building that is the perfect spot to enjoy your treat. read more

We were SOOO happy to find this gem near our area this summer! Everything in our local area (Schaumburg) seems to be the "same-old" joints...baskin robbins, coldstone, blaugh.... THis is an independently owned and totally ADORABLE ice cream place! Seasonal flavors rotate....our favorite seasonal flavor so far is the FRANGO one! Anything and everything mint-flavored is amazzzzing.... it has enough MINTY-ness, if you know what I mean. The place has a cute cozy deck area to lounge with friends and eat ice cream and a small, quaint little park next to it to eat your ice cream as well....love it! read more

Our family of four went to Capannari's and were so happy we did. We went on a Saturday late afternoon and the line wasn't bad at all. My husband and I decided to try the "flight" with four baby scoops of different flavors. It gave us a chance to see how incredibly delicious all the ice cream was. Unfortunately, they were out of the Chocolate Hazelnut Ganache when we got there. I chose the Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch, Frango, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Coconut Chip. Mmmmmm. I don't think I could ever forget this ice cream. The Double Choc Peanut Butter Crunch didn't have any crunch in it (at least my baby scoop didn't). The chocolate is really rich (just like I like it) and there was ribbons of peanut butter in it. If you are a chocolate mixed w/ peanut butter fan you won't be disappointed. My favorite was the Coconut Chip. Having grown up on a tropical island, I truly appreciated the pure taste of Coconut, not too overbearing but very distinct and creamy. I was in heaven! I loved the Frango and Mint Chocolate chip as well. I tried my husband's Black Raspberry and it was awesome as well. Is there a bad flavor in this place? The best part about this place is how pure the flavors taste without overpowering the ice cream. I can't say enough about it. I love this place! My new favorite ice cream! read more

Large selection of affordable sweet treats. I always get the single scoop of mocha bean. It's perfect for a small treat, but won't blow your eating plan for the day. They also have a smaller kiddie scoop too, if you really just wanna small taste. Kids working in there are quick, friendly and polite. Long lines for the yumminess go quick. There's a walkway of little gardens with bench seating behind the shop. There's also seating on their deck and inside. read more

It ain't about the ice cream (although Capannari's ice cream is fantastic). It is the creative, positive energy and the sense of community that defines the experience and which truly sets Capannari apart! Start with the setting. Capannari IS NOT one of those soulless, endlessly replicated, cookie-cutter, gazillion-flavor places, that you could clean with a fire hose. It's in a former house! How crazy is that? There is seating on the deck outside, and it is adjacent to a small park. Reminds me of my grandma's place. The staff is friendly, attentive, and responsive. And while they have the traditional favorites (like my beloved butter pecan and pralines and cream), they are also willing to experiment. Tonight, I tried their hot chocolate flavor, made with chili peppers. It wasn't for me (I had to get some water after just tasting it) but, man, you have to give them their due for pushing the envelope! Bottom line: It's a jewel. A one of a kind place that specializes in smiles one scoop at a time! read more

My only gripe is they hide the sugar-free ice cream in the back. On several occasions I was told by my server that they didn't make sugar-free ice cream, even though I know that they do. I suspect they fibbed so that they wouldn't break their arms scooping the sugar-free ice cream, since it is a much harder ice cream. Otherwise, this place is awesome! The flavors are unique and very tasty (even though I'm not supposed to have anything with sugar). I wish they could find a way to make lowfat, low sugar ice cream and be proud enough to show it off under the glass. read more

Coconut Chip Ice Cream is divine! The workers are super nice and there's plenty of seating. The interior is very rustic; old country feel. Very quiet neighborhood, which is also next to a park. I've fallen in love with this place! Would definitely go back to try the other flavors. read more

Yummmm. I'm a big fan of Humphrey Slocombe ice cream in San Francisco so I'm always looking for ice cream shops. Capannari didn't have any exotic flavors when I visited so I ordered dulce de leche and malted butter fudge. I'm not a big fan of malted chocolate but decided to try it... yum, yum, yum. Totally gives you a family-owned feel since it's in an on original super old farm house. They have awesome quality ice cream and their soft serve is great too! Their flavors rotate every summer though and i miss the tiramisu icecream- I made a special trip at least once a week for it. I am not a big ice cream person but I was pretty impressed with the black raspberry ice cream here. I think this will be my go to place for ice cream for now on. Went on a Sunday night and the line was out the door. My only complaint was that I ordered a pint to go and in order to get people in and out they would take orders while you are in line and give you your ice cream but then you had to wait to pay at the register which means my ice cream is melting the whole time. That system seems to need a little work but next time I will just let them know not to do this. read more

I have been there twice and tried two different flavors. The double chocolate peanut butter did not have any peanut butter on my cup. The mint chocolate chip was very refreshing, but my serving had no chocolate chips. The ice cream is great, but missing the add in ingredients when scooped. read more

Amazing! Worth every penny! Everything is in-house made and the quality is excellent! Try their off beat flavors for a crazy twist - Irish Cream, Olive Oil, Hopalicious IPA just to name a few. You can't go wrong with any flavor. Very friendly staff and don't be deterred by the long lines! The line moves fast! read more

Capannari's is delicious! I recommend the Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch because it's so good and in every bite it has the crunchy peanut butter. It's a must for anyone who likes peanut butter. I love the fact that you can get the traditional flavors like chocolate chip and cookie dough. Seriously what can't I say about this phenomenal place! Top notch place to spend time with friends and family. The only negative aspect of the place is that they are not open 24 hrs a day 365 days of the year!!!!! Hats off to the owners who all have hearts of gold. Never a bad choice to visit here. read more

Other locations Ice cream and service were not even close. My favorite thing here are the paletas (Mexican ice cream bar) specifically the one with mixed fruit. It has such a nice creamy, sweet milk base flavor and then you get the burst of fruit. I've tried the Ferrero rocher, Oreo, and other fruit flavors which were all yummy and true to their flavor names but the mixed fruit one is my go to. The staff here have always been great. I am not familiar with Latin American flavors/fruits and on multiple occasions, staff was very patient answering questions about different fruits or flavors of ice cream and even giving me a taste. On one occasion one of my kids had mentioned something about a green slushy and when we went to pay she gave him a small cup to try. They also are quite generous with the amount of ice cream they serve. They also have a large selection of dairy free paletas. I did not try one but a bunch in our group who are dairy free, raved about how smooth they were (as no dairy) and how strong the fruit flavor was. The mango was a very big hit. There is a reason why there is always a line here. If you have never tried paletas before you must try them and this is the location to try it from.

I don't know who I spoke with on the phone, but instead of helping resolve the issue, I was told that I could simply cancel my order. What frustrated me most was the explanation I received: "Sorry, this app doesn't work well." The representative showed little interest in solving the problem. Apparently, the app worked perfectly when it charged my credit card, but when it came to processing and delivering my order, suddenly the app was the issue. Delays can happen, but customers should be informed instead of being left waiting with no updates. I still didn't receive my order after two hours. The customer service was awful, and the lack of communication made the situation even more frustrating. This used to be one of my favorite places, but unfortunately, the quality of service seems to be getting worse.

Other drinks I have tried include their galaxy lemon tea, a sort of ocean lemonade (?), etc. My daughter also lives for their croffles--I know she has had matcha, tiramisu, plain, etc. Last night's choice was matcha and there was not a crumb left in the box. Ordering is easy on the kiosk, and the staff is quiet, but friendly. I have been there with different sized groups at different times of day, and the food, drinks, and service are always consistent. Sometimes it's packed, sometimes it's not. Driving back home, I wanted to yell at all the youths in that green siren logoed coffee shop to drink something better across the parking lot, but I did not. I hope Straw & Bubbles continues to find Mount Prospect to be a good home!

It is located in the strip mall with a lot of shared parking however, the businesses that share this trip, Malk are really rather popular so finding parking can be a little bit tricky. The benefit those at all the parking is free. I will see the menu is quite extensive whether you want a bowl or a smoothie or something else. I did opt for a bowl and so did my friend as you can see from the pictures. I have to say everything was super delicious very generous, considering the price and because there was a promotion it was really very generous. Just took our 2 year old granddaughter with us there this past summer and she looooooved their chocolate ice cream. Personally I am a fan of the rocky road.
