We reserved the 56 passenger bus for our wedding. The day before our wedding at 10:25 am they let…read moreus know that was no longer an option (apparently due to their driver having Covid) and offered two 14- passengers busses instead. This clearly made us worried about the logistics as the new 28 persons volume was only half the original 56 persons capacity. Sure enough, the second bus arrived 12 minutes late to the ceremony start time at 5:00pm forcing us to push back the ceremony. In the subsequent correspondence with management, they refused to acknowledge this delay and instead told us they were only 1 minute late (arriving at 5:01 pm). However, I had time stamped photos of me waiting with my bridesmaids from later (5:05-5:10 pm) as evidence that in fact, no, they were not there by 5:01 pm as they falsely claimed. Moreover, management refused any means of reconciliatory compensation for the lower volume vehicle transport and the tardiness to the ceremony. Overall very unprofessional and would not recommended this business.

After confirming, collecting deposits, and exchanging dozens of emails, they pulled out just weeks before our first scheduled trip, citing insurance costs. No contingency plan, no real notice, no sense of responsibility. This left us scrambling to rebook for hundreds of travelers. Completely unprofessional and deeply disappointing. Proceed with extreme caution if reliability matters to you.

Usually I take later bus times and they aren't that bad, however this time I took the 11:20am and…read moreit was a bit rough. I expected it to be packed (and it was), but people also chose their own seating even though seats are assigned and/or reserved. This led to passengers having to try to advocate for their own seat and in my case just accept it (I'm not confrontational and it's really just a seat at the end of the day). However I ended up needing to get my assigned seat since people arrived at the next stop and I was in their seat. Thankfully, the bus driver was really nice and helped fix the issue! The most painful part was people playing their music/shows out loud which led to a brutal headache 4/5 for service & support from the bus driver, 2.5/5 for the bus company since they overbooked a seat (which is why someone ended up in my seat because their seat was somehow reserved after the seat was assigned to them first) 2/5 for the time of day this ride was compared to later bus rides (people are louder, more likely to eat on the bus if that's an allergy concern for you, etc.) Overall 3.5/5 since I can't really dock the company for passengers actions!

I choose not to have a car for various reasons, but I often need to get from Vermont to Boston. This stop is where it all falls apart, and there is a whole tapestry of ineffectiveness, rudeness, and other negative qualities at work. If you have any other option than to take Greyhound, I would recommend it until they get their act together. If MegaBus can change its timing to get me into the city in time for the last train, I'll never ride Greyhound again for this route (not to say they've ever once gotten me into the city on time or near to their itinerary; but I keep hoping that one day they will.)

Inn at Clearwater Pond - Relax in our very spacious Family Room

The Inn at Clearwater Pond was excellent, I am so glad we decided to snap up the Eversave when we…read moresaw it. The innkeeper was very friendly and personable and I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the area. The main building has four guest quarters on the second floor. We had a HUGE room complete with sitting area, large windows and a spacious adjoining bathroom. The rest of the main building consisted of a large entry room, receiving room with lots of Vermont products for sale, kitchen, dining, game room, and a larger family type room. The whole house was surrounded by deep wrap around porches. There is also a cottage with two additional guest quarters, barns, a screened gazebo, a swimming pond full of frogs, horses, and some additional outbuildings. The property backs up to Quechee Gorge. Breakfast was different and very tasty each day. The first day was a spinach and egg dish, served with granola, fruit, coffee and yogurt. The second day was stuffed baked french toast with the same accompaniments. The innkeeper made reservations for us for dinner the second night we were there, just another great touch. The decor of the rooms was a little more modern than most B&Bs and I rather enjoyed it. Our room was outfitted with two nice leather chairs with ottomans, a substantial king sized bed with white, red and black linens, and some interesting artwork (little pewter and copper figurines on a shelf, etc). Such a nice time, I think we will splurge next summer at full price to get a weekend away here.

She is friendly and helpful as well as very knowledgable about the area. The room we stayed in was comfortable and had all the amenities of a hotel plus more! We could come and go as we pleased. Best of all were her delicious homemade breakfast, made with love you could taste! At the end of the trip we felt like we had spent the weekend with family. We will be returning soon!

Quechee / Pine Valley KOA - Beautiful site!

Just spent 3 days/2 nights here over fathers day weekend, and it a worthwhile stay. Typically we…read morestay in a tent site, but this time we rented a cabin. The cabin was a decent sized spot with bunk beds for the kids, a microwave, coffee pot, sink, mini fridge, and full bathroom. It had heat and AC so it was really easy to adjust to whatever was most comfortable. Outside of the cabin was a stone patio with stone fire pit. Around the pit was 4 quality made Adirondack chairs. Next to that was a picnic table and a propane grill, which had propane provided to us. All we had to bring was our food, and pick up firewood. The KOA offered linen service for 10 dollars. The staff delivered sheets and blankets, and even offered to make the beds for us, which was a nice gesture. I think it's worthwhile if you're trying to cut down on the amount of stuff you're packing for a trip. They also sell firewood, which they will deliver to you as well. 3 bundles for $20.00. We bought some and the first bundle we tried seemed a little green. I mentioned it to the staff at the desk and they provided us with additional wood that was much more seasoned. On top of the wood they dropped off some extra kindling, and a fire starter. Also, they do a 10am curbside trash pickup at the sites, which is really convenient. Overall, I'd say this site excels in customer service, cleanliness, and location. They are a very welcoming group. The only downside, which isn't a HUGE downside, is that the sites can be a little cramped. So if you stay up late, and make a little bit of noise you may have some unhappy neighbors. In regards to the location, it's right off the highway, but you don't hear the highway. Gas station is less than a 1/4 mile away, and sells beer and wine. In the other direction Quechee Village, Gorge, and Woodstock are all within a reasonable drive.

We reserved our spot way in advance, as we always do because we prefer sites that are on the end…read morebecause they generally offer a little more room and privacy. We used their website to reserve site 14, which showed it was on the end. We arrived after a long day of driving our Class A and towing a trailer. After checking in, a very grumpy man 'escorted' us to our spot. He showed us the wrong spot and we said we need to speak to someone. We had to go back to the front and my husband spoke to a very snotty young lady and tried to sort it out. He showed her on his phone the spot on their reservation site that we reserved and she agreed, but needed to call the owner. At this point I came to the office to try to reason with them. After awhile, an extremely rude man came in with a terrible attitude. He was constantly on his phone; either pretending to be busy or recording me. Who knows. When we tried to rationally talk to him and show him the site we reserved on their website, he laughed and said, "I don't have to do anything. I'm the owner and I can do whatever I want." He refused to even look at our phone to show him that their reservation website is wrong. We paid an extra $25 to lock this site. He said both sites were patio sites, but one is on the end with more separation and some trees blocking the site next to it, while the other has another site right on top of them. The sites here are the closest I have seen in four months of traveling full time. And just to add, the road noise is pretty bad, and what is the deal with the resort fee? So overpriced for what you are getting. Never was there an apology. Their solution was for us to move on the day the others arrived. No other option. We spent almost $1,000 there for eight nights. he obviously did not care about our business. What a way to run a place. We only stayed one night because it was late and there was nowhere else to go. We left the next day and they charged us for two nights and refunded the rest. This place was a terrible experience that literally left me in tears in how we were treated. Highly recommend skipping this overpriced joke of a place.
