After several years not taking the Coach to New York, we did it again, as a matter of fact we're still on the bus going through Connecticut. The driver is perhaps the smoothest driver ever. Checking in the terminal we found it clean and spacious. Boarding on the bus was uneventful and timely The busses are now equipped with Keurig machines and an assortment of coffees to suit any taste. As well, an ample selection of snacks. About the best way to travel to NYC. read more

It was my first time riding Dartmouth Coach, and I was pleased to find driver Mike friendly, efficient, and safe. The complimentary water, Keurig, and snacks in the back galley for this longer NYC-NH service were a nice surprise and appreciated. The bus arrived 30 minutes prior to departure (which was helpful, as the address spanned an entire city block and also, it was raining). Boarding began about 15 minutes later. The seat belt didn't easily retract, though, likely due dirt/debris in the mechanism (the adjacent cup holders could've also used deep-clean). The charging outlets didn't work, either, which was a bummer for a 5-hour ride. Otherwise, the other passengers were quiet and it was a smooth ride. read more

I rode with Dartmouth Coach on Monday, December 22nd and left my AirPods case (empty) presumably on the seat of the bus. I know this because I was able to track it with FindMy on my iPhone. I emailed them that same afternoon, then followed up two days later. No one answered me for a week. Today, I called them and they did not have the item, so I double checked FindMy and was able to track my AirPods case (and the expensive Pela brand case I bought for it)... to the dump in West Lebanon, NH. You're telling me you swept up an expensive piece of electronics and threw it in the trash instead of turning it into lost and found? That's just negligence. And to imply when I called back that someone ELSE (like a passenger on the bus) must have thrown the item away?! Ridiculous. Whoever cleaned that bus threw my item in the trash and didn't even bother to return it, just like you didn't bother to answer my emails. Careless, unacceptable, and costly. That's around a hundred dollars (possibly more) down the drain and the best you can offer is a half hearted apology. I'll sooner pay more for Amtrak than to support this shady company ever again. read more

Their customer service is terrible. They care nothing about the customer. I've been using them for years traveling to and from Logan. Today I get to the terminal. The agent gives me a tag for my luggage. The bus arrives. The driver asks if my dog is service. I say no. He won't let me on the bus. I explain that I've ridden with them for years. He's nope. Talk to the manager. Well they call the manager. Nope. They offer no solution. Just say it's on the website. Very rude people and no empathy or problem solving skills. At all. read more

I'm so completely impressed with this coach service... I was a bit hesitant as sometimes bus travel can be less than ideal. Not the case with Dartmouth Coach! I received fantastic service picking me up at the Boston Logan Airport right at baggage claim. The bus was very clean. When you walk on don't miss the pretzels, water and ear buds. I did the first leg odd my journey. I could've gotten up and picked some up but I was very comfortable in my seat. On the way from Boston to Hanover the driver was extremely nice. A bit hard to understand but very helpful. The drive was smooth and free from any problems. We made several stops on the way to Hanover which was good for me to see the route. We arrived about on time and were dropped off right in front of the Dartmouth Inn. Fantastic service. We also watched jumanji on board. Nice to have a movie distraction... there a few music channels if you prefer that. On my departure the drive was also smooth. The driver was again very pleasant. These buses are GPS tracked spo they never leave early but they certainly leave right on time. So be ready! Driving back to Logan in Boston was a beautiful drive. It was a great way to see the area and the beautiful fall colors. They showed another movie on the way back. There's also service to New York... Dartmouth is smart!! I've taken Dartmouth Coach a bunch of times, to and from Boston and the Upper Valley. Outside of the fact that they don't feature late night service heading south from NH, I have no complaints. Buses are clean, the drivers are professional and courteous, and they are always on time getting travelers to their destinations. Price is very reasonable and I've always had a good ride in one of their vehicles. It's a great way to travel if you're car-less or don't want to navigate into Boston in the middle of the day. One thing to add...the ride south is especially scenic during foliage season. It's as good as one of those charter trips at a fraction of the price. Reliable and safe transportation with a great view...can't beat it. read more

I had a close family member pass away the day of my departure so I wasn't able to make my trip from NY to Hanover. A week after his death, I emailed the Dartmouth Coach to request a refund, and heard no response, so I emailed again and they told me to call their customer service number. I called, and they said I couldn't get a refund a month after my trip, despite having way more important things on my plate for the last fucking month. I arrived in Logan to catch the Dartmouth Coach to the Upper Valley. I had been waiting 30 minutes and the coach pulled up. I went up to the door, No one go off and no one got on. The driver did not look at me and then drove off. I had to wait an hour and a half for the next bus. The customer service rep yelled at me when I called to complain. Now when you travel you have to put your terminal tag on yourself, and on the way down the driver did not put on the movie. Customer service does not exist any longer. The rep should be fired. Took the bus from NYC to Lebanon, NH last week. Not the cheapest but the price was worth it. NYC route is reservation only so it's never oversold, but get to the bus stop 1/2 hr early anyway. If you are leaving on any other route, get there early because it's first come, first served. People who think the bus should wait for them clearly don't commute via mass transit. They wait for no man, woman or child and neither does the Dartmouth Coach. 8:30 departure and the bus pulls out at 8:30 sharp. I gave myself an extra hour to get to the NYC pickup spot in case of train delays, traffic, etc. There are a couple of Starbucks in walking distance, so I hung out for a little while, drinking a latte before I went back to the stop. The driver was pleasant and the snacks were a nice touch. I had brought snacks with me but instead feasted on hot cocoa, goldfish and a muffin. The seats recline a bit and were extremely comfy and have chargers and a lap tray. Someone mentioned ear buds but I didn't see any so I used the ones from my phone. I didn't try the WiFi so I have no idea if it was spotty or not. Two movies played on the screens. I watched about half of one and went back to reading my Kindle. Both the bus and bathroom were very clean. I have another round trip scheduled for this week and having such a stress free trip is a blessing. read more

I took Dartmouth coach couple times to and from Boston and once to and from NYC. My only complaint is their WiFi is VERY unreliable. Signal strength is ok but it gets interrupted quite often and might get annoying. I dunno why but good wifi is better than poor Wi-Fi especially when its advertised. On the bright side drivers are nice and polite. Or at least during my trips to Boston and NYC. Snacks are ok. At least they are complimentary. Who would say no to free snacks? Yeah timeliness of the service was always great. Bus always left on time. I'd hate waiting a minute or two for somebody when I was there on time and other passengers are there on time. If you don't like the schedule get uber or taxi then and stop complaining that you were a minute late and bus left without you. Your own fault. I've read here some dude complained about his experience with a driver who didn't like his service animal. I don't like those animals around me either. Service dogs are nasty, dirty, stinky and potentially dangerous. Yeah I was working at K9 so its my personal opinion based on my work experience. I would hate riding on Dartmouth couch next to some dude who has Lessie as a service animal. Take a taxi, uber or drive your own car. Or stay home. read more

Reliable and comfortable option to get to and from Boston airport to Hanover. I've taken the coach approx 5 times now and each driver has been pleasant and the ride has been smooth. There is WiFi, chargers, and a movie that plays on the bus. I dock a star because the schedule doesnt run very late from Boston -- the last bus leaves Logan just before 9pm, so you need to be careful about booking your flights so you arrive in time to catch the last one. A friend had to take an Uber once from Boston to Hanover because their flight was delayed and they had no other options of getting back. Would be nice if the schedule ran later, but if you are looking for trips within their typical hours of operation, don't consider options - just book the coach. read more

We ride the coach 2-3 times per year and it is always a please way to get to and from my family home in Vermont. On New Year's Day this year we rode from Lebanon to Logan around 10/11 am and we had the BEST driver we have ever had. He let me run back inside the station before we left, was kind and warm toward every passenger, and overall provided 5 star service. I think I've ridden the coach over 40 times and I hope we have the same driver for years to come! read more

By far the best way to get to Logan from the Upper Valley. It's so much easier to park and let the bus take you down. I've never had an issue with there not being room on the bus. Some of the best travel of my life has been long flights back to Logan that end in a nap on the Dartmouth Coach and arriving safely home in Lebanon. Let's be serious. What better mode of transportation is there from Boston to Hanover and even Hanover to New York City? For the college student that goes to school at Dartmouth, the Dartmouth Coach is the perfect way to travel between the airport and the school. The Dartmouth Coach has comfy head cushions, more than enough legroom, complimentary movie, snacks and drinks, and free wifi! It's really all you need for those two hours. Moreover, when one takes the Dartmouth Coach from Hanover to NYC, there's practically double the leg room and even tables for patrons sitting in the back. Prices may not be the cheapest thing out there, but given the high quality of the transportation service, it's worth it. Then again, it's not like Dartmouth students even have a choice when they want to go travel between Boston, NYC, and Hanover. Sure you can fly, but the coach's prices are just as expensive as flight tickets to NYC. tldr; need to go from Boston or NYC to Hanover? Take this. read more

BRADLEY. Why'd you have to ruin such a nice way to travel from Boston to Lebanon? I have taken the Dartmouth coach in the past and haven't had any troubles before. (Except the wifi... I don't think Bradley has anything to do with that, though.) On this trip, the way to Lebanon was not an issue, but the way back was a huge problem, mainly because of the stressed out bus driver, Bradley. My family who lives nearby misinformed us of the time it would take to get from their house to the bus station, and because we didn't have any phone service for our GPS we didn't realize how far away we were. As soon as I regained phone service and realized we were going to be slightly late (5:21 instead of 5:20) I called the terminal and informed them. As we drove up I saw that other people were still boarding and the underneath storage bins were all still open, so I wasn't as worried. Bradley, the bus driver, was having a bad morning and decided my (1 minute) tardiness was unacceptable. As I brought our bags to the bus he began to berate me. Apparently Bradley runs a tight ship, and couldn't bear to let us slide by without us leaning our lessons. With a raised and angry voice he told me I was cutting it short, to hurry up, and made me state what time my ticket says the bus is leaving and to tell him what the current time is. I asked him for his name so I could report him, and he said "It's Bradley, yeah you can write that down!" So I did. We were in our seats by 5:20 and the bus pulled out at 5:21, (one minute late, so sorry Bradley!) And the anger directed towards us by this bus driver was very much out of proportion to the situation. I will avoid using Dartmouth Coach in the future. No amount of free water or pretzels will sway me. If you decide to ride Dartmouth coach and catch Bradley a minute late, watch your back! read more

TL;DR: the most convenient and comfortable way to get from Boston or NYC to Hanover and Lebanon, NH. Worth the price. Don't even bother flying. I was planning a campus visit to Dartmouth College and wasn't sure of which transportation option to pick. I initially only found the NYC Yelp page for Dartmouth Coach; because it had just two reviews, I decided to fly instead, as I believed that to be a more reliable option. I was gravely mistaken. My itinerary had me flying from LaGuardia to Boston and then to Lebanon/Hanover airport (just 10 miles from Dartmouth). It took me an hour to get to LGA from Grand Central via subway and bus. My flight from LGA was delayed, meaning I missed my connection from BOS-LEB. Upon reaching BOS, I had to transfer terminals by taking a shuttle bus and go through TSA security once more, only to discover that my flight was delayed and ultimately cancelled. I thought I was stranded in Boston when I realized that Dartmouth coach had a bus leaving in about an hour to Hanover, with stops in South Boston and Lebanon. It took me 10 hours to get from NYC to Hanover. I would have been able to avoid the most stressful travel situation I've ever had and decrease my travel time in half if I had just taken the bus to begin with. Pros: I've taken MegaBus and Vamoose from DC to NYC and back multiple times. Though Dartmouth Coach is probably twice as expensive, it's also twice as enjoyable. The seats are even more comfortable than those in Amtrak. They're made of leather with a very comfortable head rest. The bus from Hanover to NYC (making no stops) had twice as much leg room as the Boston route, and the row configuration was 2:1. There are movie screens that play a film at a time (in my trips I saw a documentary about an obscure folk artist called Rodriguez, a documentary about Muhammad Ali, and Arnold Schwarzenegger classic "Jingle all the way.") And there are also free snacks you can help yourself to (my Boston route had just water and pretzels, but the NYC route offered granola bars and fruit, plus had a coffee machine as well!). Cons: For some odd reason, Dartmouth Coach makes you hand in print tickets. When I was traveling from Boston to Hanover, I had the receipt on my phone. The driver politely asked me to step off the bus into the terminal, where a ticket counter employee would print me out a pass. I don't really see why it's so necessary, and after my grueling travel day I just wanted to sit back and not move. The wifi is better than that I've experienced in other bus routes, but I wouldn't count on it being reliable enough to do any serious work with. You can probably check some updates or email here and there, but that's about it. If you're going to Dartmouth, this is really the best way to travel. read more

RUDE drivers and staff, unfair prices, paltry accommodations. This is the third time in five months (i.e. five trips) that I have been bumped from a ride because Dartmouth Coach has oversold the trip. But they don't care, so long as they have your money. Unfortunately, they are the only game in town since I need to travel from NH to Boston regularly for medical treatment. Similar to another reviewer, I was admitted onto the bus without the driver checking tickets. When we arrived at the first stop out of Lebanon (miles from my car or anybody who could help me), tickets were scanned and I was one of the lucky three whom the driver arbitrarily decided to bump (because I was "young and sturdy," which is completely ironic since, you know, I'm in Boston every month for treatment). That was it. Left in the dust with nothing but a "that's the way it goes." Management refused to help me in any way, and hung up on me when I pressed the matter. Do yourself a favor and avoid this bus line at all costs. Or better yet, bang your head against a concrete wall for two hours; it's roughly the same experience as using Dartmouth Coach. read more

Ironic that im using the spotty wi-fi included on the bus to write this review... Showed up with cash to buy tickets, because while you can buy tickets on their web site, it doesn't guarantee you a seat. Our prince of a driver informed us it was not only cash only, but exact change. The stop in New London is in the middle of nowhere, so there was no place to get change. He actiually said "Nice tip" when I told him all I had to pay our two $33 fares was four $20s. That didn't really help the situation. He did hand us $6 change but we still felt we got robbed of $8. The sad thing is, we would have rather purchased tickets online (which would have been less than $33 per ticket), but the whole thing about not guaranteeing a seat didn't pass the smell test. I'm going to try to reason with the main office, but based on this experience I'd say find another way to Logan Airport. read more

We booked a 3:25am bus out of Lebanon due to an early flight out of Boston. Very convenient to be able to access earlier flights. However not so convenient when the bus does not show. We waited and nothing. The terminal does not open until 4:30am so we had no one to ask nor did anyone show up to tell us what to expect. We waited 45 minutes and made the decision to drive down to Boston to not miss our flight during busy season. We were able to take two others, but not sure what everyone else waiting did. I think if they are going to offer this early service there should be someone there to direct us if the bus does not show up. We will continue to use this service, but I hope there will be changes to allow for notification. I called them later in the day and they said the bus would not start. I generally pick up a rental car from Logan when I fly in, since most of my flights are red-eyes and the earliest Dartmouth coach is 9am (meaning I didn't want to sit at Logan for 2+ hours). However, with the colder weather and possibility of snow/ice on the roads, I opted for the Coach for a safer trip. First off, the website says to arrive 15-30 minutes...don't. The first bus was scheduled to leave at 8:55am, and the Coach pulled into Terminal A at around 8:50am. It will also make a stop at Terminals B, D and E, so you don't need to rush to Terminal A. The bus will make a stop at South Station (about 10-15 min after Logan), where your printed tickets will be collected, or you can head inside to buy a ticket or print out a copy from your phone (electronic copies will not be accepted). The entire trip is much more convenient than driving - each seat has a headphone jack to either listen to music or watch movies, the seats are a relatively comfy leather, and there's enough leg room to stretch out (for the record, I'm 5'5" and could comfortably stretch out with a bag by my feet). There's also two power outlets for each seat, so you could charge up your iPhone or other electronics as well. The bus also comes with storage cabinets above each seat, so you could store bags on top as well. Most importantly, there's also a bathroom on the bus, so drink all the coffee you want before starting the trip. I usually don't sleep well when I'm traveling, but I easily napped the entire 2.5 hour trip. Even though the driver said we had a late start, we arrived in Hanover before the schedule time of noon. Highly recommend if you don't need access to a car while in town! P.s. Each one-way trip from Boston to Hanover, NH is $38, but if you buy a round-trip ticket, it drops it down to $31/way ($62 for round-trip). read more

This is a pretty swanky, well organized charter bus. The price from the Dartmouth area to Boston is reasonable. If you are going to Logan, it drops you off right in front of your terminal. There is also water and snacks for free and free ear buds for the movie they screen. Free wifi! The bus stop in Lebanon has $4 overnight parking and the station has free coffee! I've used Dartmouth coach several times and had mixed experiences. Certainly not an organization you can rely on for timliness or consistency. Southbound is typically on time, but northbound, the drivers often are late and/ or don't stop at the terminals for more than 15 -30 seconds. I've personally witnessed the driver pull in, late, and stay at the curb for only about 15 seconds before pulling away. Depending on the terminal, most of the seating is inside the doors, and it takes about 15 seconds to walk outside, at which point the bus is gone. I've personally missed the bus for this reason, and have witnessed others experience thw same thing as well. When the bus is not on time, and only stops for about 10 seconds, it is hard to rely on this service. But- if you don't mind hanging out on the curb for a few hours, you can catch the next one. After witnessing this occur and personally experiencing it twice now, I thought this review was warranted. Hopefully Concord Coach (parent company) can read this and instruct drivers to wait just 60 seconds at the pickup point if nobody is instantly there and all the outdoor seating is full. read more

We fly in to Boston at least once a year and always take Dartmouth Coach. It used to be so great but now it has gotten so busy and customers are so rude that individuals get on the bus and take up two seats with their bag. They refuse to move it when someone gets on and can't find a seat, they won't even make eye contact. I actually heard a lady tell someone no who asked politely if he could sit there. Apparently there is no policy about not taking up two seats unless you've bought two tickets. It is incredibly ridiculous especially when I am traveling with my children and we can't find a place to sit. The driver should absolutely be making an announcement at each stop that people need to take their bag off of the seat unless they have bought two seats. read more

I am currently stranded with four other people in Boston, because Dartmouth Coach oversold tickets on a bus and failed to find us a way out of town. "Wait for another bus, or we'll refund your tickets," they said. That, unfortunately, doesn't get me to my meeting on time. To oversell a bus without providing transportation for your paid/reserved passengers is unprofessional and unconscionable. I have never heard of such bad behavior by a transportation company. I bought my first ticket for a bus ride, and was planning on taking the Dartmouth Coach from Lebanon, NH to NYC. I bought a ticket for the bus at 2:15PM, but did not realize that the agent at the ticket counter printed me a ticket for 6:15 AM. I got on the bus, and have to admit that it is a pretty nice and comfortable bus. The driver left without checking my ticket, and didn't check any tickets until the next stop, nearly 15 miles away. At that stop, once tickets were checked, I was told to get off the bus. There were not enough seats, so no room to take me to NYC even though I had spent $150.00 for my round trip ticket. I told him that my car was 15 miles away, and that there wasn't anyone to come get me. He told me there was nothing he could do for me. I was left at a bus stop on the side of the road, with no nearby ticket counter. When I called the main office where I bought the ticket, I was told no wonder I had a problem, I had purchased a ticket for 8/2/12 and shouldn't be on that bus.....today's date is 8/2/12!!! She promptly put the General Manager on the phone, who then came to pick me up and helped me to get onto a bus so I could catch the train to NYC. I was offered a free ticket, but honestly will never use it....I just want my money back...I refuse to support a business that leaves a woman stranded on the side of the road and one of their employees says "there is nothing I can do for you". I appreciate the effort from the General Manager, but feel I really could never count on their service. My family and I travel frequently, and the buses would have been very convenient. I think I will stick with the companies that have always provided me with outstanding service like Amtrak and Southwest Airlines. read more

This is and has always been as far as I know, a dependable, comfortable and friendly bus service (even if they don't offer senior discounts). I have taken their New York - Hanover luxury bus that brings bus travel up to a new level with a lounge, stocked fridge and super comfortable seats. I have also rode on their Lebanon-Boston bus which, while a bit less luxurious was still comfortable and friendly. Unfortunately the movie screen in front of me did not work on my last ride which meant I had to look across to see the movie. Also worth noting is that their drivers know their routes and how to take detours when traffic backs up! read more
