I absolutely love this space! It has such a beautiful, cozy atmosphere with definite speakeasy vibes. They offer a great weekday happy hour from 3-6 PM that includes house wines and small bites. We especially enjoy the marinated olives and the bread and butter. Mimi, our sommelier, was incredible and really was the highlight of our visit! She was kind, knowledgeable about all things wine, and personable. We love visiting for the excellent wines, welcoming service, and relaxed ambiance!

Loved my experience here!! Visited for happy hour with a friend after learning about this wine bar from a run club friend. When I walked in, I saw their trophy and certificate proudly displayed showing they were a Top Place to Drink on Yelp! There was only one other table when I arrived and waited for my friend. The ambiance is really nice and I loved our server Aidan. He was so knowledgeable about each of the wines and helped us pick our flights. During happy hour (4-6) they offer $10 off all flights. The flight is pretty pricey so I was happy to try 4 wines with the discount. I honestly do not know much about South African wines except that I like Chenin Blanc. This was a great way to be introduced to so many other great wines like my new favorite - pinotage! It was very comfortable tasting and we learned a lot while chatting and enjoying happy hour. I can't wait to go back! 5 stars for service, wines, ambiance, etc. Easy street parking out front too!

New favorite date night spot alert! Glass, flights, and whole bottles are at your availability here as well as a decent menu of snacks and curated South African food boards to complement the wines. Very intimate space with dim lights later into the night. The space itself, and entrance, is such a wow factor and really sets the mood. Our waitress did an amazing job of asking our preferences in order to build the wine flight and we were very happy with the options provided and they were all explained to us thoroughly . We stopped by on a Friday night about 5:30pm before a concert over at the Parish around the corner and there were only a few patrons (some with well behaved dogs as well). They partner with the InKind app and you can get a discount off of your bill. Our waitress was knowledgeable about this factor and effortlessly was able to apply it with ease. We were so happy with our experience that we ended up purchasing bottles that we liked to bring back home so this was especially helpful. The only real bad was the bathrooms here are down a shared hallway and up two large steps, clearly shared with other businesses nearby. They are gender neutral rooms and lock, but they oddly have a full shower in there and unfortunately were not clean and did not match with the spotless and sheek bottle room and bar vibe.

Very impressed with my experience at the cape bottle room. Ambiance is great for date night or a gathering with friends. Definitely get the olives they are so so delicious. They rotate their tasting list every 3-4 weeks. If you rather get a bottle their staff is very knowledgeable and directed us to the perfect bottle.

Recently I attended an event at the Cape Bottle Room and I must say that I was quite impressed with the vibe of this venue which was really laid back to enjoy a wide variety of South African wines which I was very unfamiliar with. We explored a wine flight trio tasting however at the end of the event, John, the sommelier, suggested a red, Saxenburg Guinea Fowl, that got my attention and I bought a bottle. I plan to return to the Cape Bottle Room during their tasting hours with some fellow oenophiles to explore more wines from South Africa.

Such a lovely establishment! Wow, I truly love the simple and elegant decor of the space! Very inviting and warm. You may miss the front door as it is tucked away on a side street, but still located in a popular area. I'm so shocked that I have not heard about this place before. My favorite thing is that they have social events all throughout the month!! I sampled the White Wine blend which was fabulous and crisp! Perfect for the cooler weather out and it paired nicely with the cheese board I ordered. I enjoyed the red peppers and the unique crackers served with it. The wine prices are fair and they have happy hour from 2-6pm which is a great deal with $2 off per glass. They also have more affordable bottles between $30-40. Service was very lovely and I enjoyed taking to the staff working around 8pm. she was really sweet and knowledgeable about their wines. This is definitely a spot I'll be adding to the rotation!

I came for the Yelp experience and stayed because I enjoyed it so much that I lingered past the free glass of wine. The Bottle Room almost has a speakeasy type vibe. You wouldn't tell from the outside that there was a very well-appointed wine tasting room with a 20s/Gatsby-esque vibe. Gregory was behind the bar and not only was he friendly but he's a true SAFer, CBR focuses on South African wines and it's nice to not only have someone from there but as he put it 'been to pretty much all the wineries in person.' His recommendation for the red was spot on. I'm not much of an oenophile but it's starting to grow on me and having this glass of wine-with its balance and flavor notes...I bought a bottle, something that I rarely do. I wanted something to eat so I got the Meat and Cheese board. Instead of the usual charcuterie it was biltong, a nice touch that went along with the South African theme. I described biltong as 'like beef jerky, but better,' and it was! The biltong was tender, not overly salty and went well with the cheeses and honey. Perfect complement to the wine. I'm adding Cape Bottle Room to my list of places to take visitors to, that's how good it is.

Another outstanding evening at Cape - this time our excellent service came from sommelier Luke, who expertly took care of everyone, knew the menu and had great recommendations, and made us feel right at home. Date night? Solo night? Pregame? Post game? Cape has an amazing location, though it's easy to walk past, and the ambiance is charming without being stuffy.

We love Cape Bottle Room! It's such a hidden gem. Featuring all South African wines, their inventory has something for everyone. The staff is so wonderful and helping in making suggestions for us non experts. The food selection is limited but high quality. It's cozy with room for around 10 parties at a time so you'll definitely get an initiate experience. The best part is that they are dog friendly so you can bring your pup and they'll bring them a water bowl!

Came for a live music event so can't comment on the bottle selection. Ambiance is cool and cozy, and the sound quality was good. In terms of counter service, friendly staff. My phone wouldn't pick up the menu QR code, so I got an unspecified glass of rose and a cheese plate while uninformed of price. The plastic refrigeration containers of pre-bought items were all out on the counter. Below is what I received, which I'd value at about $14 cost at absolute max. I was charged $47, pre-tip. Maybe I'm out of touch. You decide the value for cost of this place.

We visited for a cheese and wine pairing and had a wonderful time. The partnership with Antonellis for the cheese was perfect and Lacy and Casey were both so knowledgeable about the wine and the cheese. They have cutest, coziest set with a huge selection of wines. Our tasting included a sparkling, white and red, all stellar and we had a glass of the Taj as well. Top notch and I can't wait to go back.

Finally got the chance to visit Cape Bottle Room and I think I might have found one of my new favorite places in Austin. The decor, the service, the extensive wine selection. You can choose from singular glasses, enjoy a flight or indulge in the whole bottle. There are also select light bites to choose from to accompany your beverage. Very cozy and intimate setting perfect for date night or a night out with the girls. Will definitely be returning!

This is a cute wine bar where everything is from South African. From the wine to the cheese and meats. I tried their fortified wine ~18% abv. The woman helping us was very friendly and offered recommendations according to taste profile.

I felt the vibe instantly, like as soon as I put one foot in the door. Magical, sophisticated, worldly, wonderful and more were the feelings that spontaneously hit me. The dark and elegant decor, lighting, design, & layout made me feel as though I were in a high-end Tokyo cocktail lounge. The front room as I mentioned is an intimate bar and lounge area with artwork adorning the walls. It's a modern, minimalist, and sleek space. The artwork is ever-changing (every couple of months or so) and the cocktail menu changes right long with it. Note: artwork is available for purchase. What an absolutely glorious way of combining different mediums (liquid art vs physical art). The craft cocktails & mocktails are the epitome of works of art. I've had great cocktails and mocktails elsewhere but honestly I'd be hard pressed to find anything on this level. You're taken into an entirely different realm just watching the genius of mixologists. It's mesmerizing watching them hone their craft. In the back of the lounge is an enclave of eclectic art and other pieces that then leads you to Konbini, the sushi bar. It's an industrial, warehouse vibe with a long counter that screams hip, Tokyo inspired, late-night eatery. Service is impeccable and welcoming at this cosmopolitan venue. It's truly an amazing experience.

I was pretty bothered by my experience here. Even aside from their mid drinks, it felt like we were constantly chasing down servers and they were only attentive when they needed something from us. We went to the photobooth to take pictures before we sat down, but the machine ate my money and broke down. I let a server know, and he came back and said he would comp $20 off of our meal, which I was happy about. I honestly only wanted them to refund me my $10 for the photobooth strip. However, they came back a few minutes later and gave us a photo card and told us to use it to pay for the photobooth and it could be used an unlimited amount of times. I was also happy with this solution, but what happened afterwards left a bad taste in my friends' and my mouth. We hadn't gotten menus or been asked what we wanted to order yet. We were just waiting around for drink menus and food menus, so we didn't want to get up and go take photos when they might come back to take our orders. The manager (?) came back to me a few minutes later and asked if we had taken photos yet, and I let him know that we were waiting to be given menus. He said someone else would give us menus, and another server gave us only a drink menu. A few minutes later, we are still waiting for food menus. The same manager came back and asked us to not lose the photo card. At this point, we were frustrated. Why come back constantly to ask for a photo card when we haven't even been given our food or our menus yet? When we finally got our food, a different server asked if we had given back the photo card yet. They were so pressed about getting this photo card back and not actually getting our orders, and we also thought it was a bit distasteful to offer a solution (the $20 off the meal) but then go back on it with the photo card. It was presented as "unlimited" swipes but we were rushed to give the card back, and realistically, we only had enough time to take one set of photos. The drinks themselves were truly just okay. I don't think any of us were particularly impressed with our drinks, but the interior of Papercut is really nice and intimate.

What I expect out of champagne. We got a philippe jouan (aka pinot noir) bottle which was so delicious. For food, we got the baguette and a egg confit dish that was divine.
