I miss when Wanderlust was just a cool place with a wall of self-serve wines and chill vibes but it seems like they only do pop-ups now. I last visited for the Barbie Museum pop-up and I am struggling to understand the rave reviews on here because everywhere else I see people discussing it, it's in disappointment lol. I had gone to an Alice in Wonderland event here a couple years back, the entire front of the bar was still the same but the Alice event was happening in that portable looking space in the back patio area and that's what I thought it'd be for the Barbie museum but they overhauled the entire bar and filled it with shoulder to shoulder tables. We'd spent $46 on reserving a table for 2 and for one cocktail, a soda, an undressed burger (we did not request undressed) and a kid's grilled cheese (because nothing else looked appetizing without alterations, and they were unable to alter anything so woo, sounds like just prepackaged heat and serve with full kitchen price tags) and it was still a $40ish dollar bill even with the $10 towards food that came with the table reservations. We felt dumb anticipating a meal from this experience and should've just grabbed a cupcake a piece or something. It was hard to appreciate a lot of the museumesque displays because of the crowded seating and just dancing around other patrons in a pretty crammed space. The back patio had some cute areas, that was pretty much the highlight of our visit. The servers were really short, felt like they just wanted to get us served and for us to get out. There was one lady in the back patio that was sweet enough to offer to take a picture of my boyfriend and I but it was not a welcoming experience. I don't know what their next pop up is planned to be but I can't imagine it being worth it if they float similar pricing. Felt like they made the reservation options to ensure they got their payment upfront because they knew what they had to offer wasn't actually worth the price tag.

The Malibu Barbie Cafe was what I had expected where they rebranded the Wanderlust Wine Co. Downtown into a world of pink Barbie. We had a great time taking in all the photo ops and roller skating. The food was rather good where I had the Live Your Dream Grilled Cheese and was not any grilled cheese but had other ingredients like fig jam. It had great flavor and told the chef (Chef Barbie) in person of how good it tasted. They have a bar on site and ordered the Malibu Vibes which tasted like a delicious strawberry infused drink. Most items on the menu is pink colored like the pancakes but some were left normal like the burger buns. You are given tickets for a food and merchandise rebate. The place itself is rather small but all seem to fit very well. They sell a variety of Barbie items and shirts. For the price is was worth it and had a great time. I parked at the Austin Convention Center next to the Hilton Austin, but you can park next to it and pay via parking app.

This Wanderlust wine location is a nice space with a variety of wine pours available on tap. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Parking can be tough to find though, especially on weekends. The lot adjacent to the Wanderlust building is not owned by them and charge $$ for parking. Street parking it's less expensive if you can find it or there's free parking available under the bridge across the street.

We went to the Frankenstein's lab Halloween pop up here last night and had so much fun. They did a great job decorating for the occasion. With the ticket you get one themed interactive cocktail and can stay for about 1.5 hours but I did not notice the staff policing anyone's time since there was always available space. Make sure you go to the downtown location for the Frankenstein lab, we went to the wrong location at first because I didn't know Austin has three Wanderlust Wine locations! I've been to an Alice in Wonderland pop up here too. Normally Wanderlust has a wine wall that you purchase a card for and then get charged for the amount of wine you pour. It's a great way to try lots of different wines. Thank you Wanderlust for hosting such fun creative experiences!

Came with some friends for the Barbie Pop Up event last week. It was cutely decorated and we got a lot of fun photos. The servers were friendly and helpful. The food was just ok with limited choices. The descriptions of some items were a bit exaggerated. For example, the fruit salad was described as having lots of fresh fruit and additional strawberries but there was just one strawberry cut in half and the fruit looked like it had been sitting for a while. The drinks were fun but only wine based so I chose to have a glass of red. It was clear you were paying more for the experience and decorations than the food. At $25 per ticket plus $40 ish for food and drink, just know it's more about the photos and fun! 4 for experience. 3 for food.

Came here for the Neon Paint & Sip and it was amazing! This was an after-hours event at the Wine company location. The experience was different, and it really was fun to do. They have a wall of wine to choose from and you pay as you pour. So if you want a sip, pour a sip...full glass, open the faucet. I've always loved this idea because you can try different ones and serve your own glass. I'd want to go back during normal hours to see the set up and try a few of the wines that ran out during the event.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! The Wanderlust Malibu Barbie Café popup was an absolute DREAM. From the second we walked in, it felt like stepping into a real-life Barbie world -- every detail was on point, from the vibrant pink decor to the perfectly themed outfits on the staff (who, by the way, were SO friendly and fun!). We ordered the grilled cheese, the burger, the DIY cupcake, and the strawberry ice cream float -- and let me tell you, it wasn't just cute for the 'gram, it was delicious. The float alone gave me childhood joy in a glass. The highlight? Roller skating around in this Barbie dreamland and taking the most iconic photos ever. Every corner was Instagram gold. It was just pure happiness, start to finish. This experience made me feel like a kid again in the best way. If you get chance to go -- GO. It's truly the best thing ever

My girlfriends and I went to the Barbie pop-up last night and it was fun. Wonderlust went all out to convert this bar into an epic Barbie theme pop-up - even the bathrooms are redone Barbie style. It was raining so we did not skate, but we had a great time. The food was just OK as were the drinks. If you go, and you should, go for the atmosphere don't expect much as far as food and drinks go. Of course, make sure you dress for the part.

Malibu Barbie cafe was cute but very disappointing, not enough items on the menu. I understand that it is a pop-up shop but so over price. The food was not good at all the Service was just OK. The restaurant said reservations were a must and we paid $130 for a group of 5 and of course non refundable. I don't under why they made us paid and the restaurant was empty maybe a way to make money for sure. I've been reaching through emails so someone can explain it to me so hopefully they get email me. Don't waits your time food is over price and not even good.

Such an awesome place! Was doing a group trip to Austin for my bday and I'm always looking for good wine spots. Found this place in my searches and immediately decided we'd have to go there the day we arrived on my actual birthday. I've been to other self pour wine bars so was super excited to give this place a try! My bday was on Wednesday and as it turns out, they have 1/2 off all wines on Wednesdays - TOTAL SCORE! When we first got there, the staff was very nice and helpful explaining how everything worked. They had quite a variety of wines and I loved that they separated them by type. And they even had some cocktails which was great for my one friend who isn't a big wino! The decor was lovely and they had lots of seating both inside and outside. We started inside on some comfy chairs next to the stage where a dude was playing some tunes. My friends surprised me with a birthday cake and the staff were fine with us having it and lighting candles! We eventually moved outside which had lots of picnic table seating, and we got one of the charcuterie tower thingies to share - everything was very yum! I got to try so many different wines and what's great about a place like this is you can just do a small sample instead of getting stuck with a whole glass of something you don't like lol. We all had a wonderful time and I'm so glad I got to spend my bday at Wanderlust!

Great wine selection Live music Friendly staff What a great way to start the weekend! I love the ability to try 1 oz pours before committing to a full class of wine. We joked that this is my favorite "video game" of all time. Took my time to "research" the different wines available along the wall; it's all part of the experience! They had live acoustic guitar tonight and we enjoyed having a fun environment to sit back, relax, and sip while listening to throwback tunes.

Very cool and fun concept. Such a diverse mix of whites, reds, sweet, dry, and sangrias and wine based cocktails. I loved that I could try as little or as much wine as I wanted. My favorite was a local tropical mead. Not super sweet, but very much on the yummy side. Loved that it was low in alcohol as well and just $8 for a full glass--wow! The winery has tons of seating and free wifi, so such a chill spot and great place to relax after a long day or a spot to work from! Minus one star for the service. The lady that was helping was not the warmest or friendliest. I felt a little ignored at first and that I was annoying her with my questions, but I think she might have just been overwhelmed? I did like that she worked with the happy hour and Yelp check in discounts. My total was only $18!! Definitely check in and take advantage of their happy hour.

So glad I decided to "yelp" a wine bar in Austin in my downtime. Took a $7 Uber around the corner from the Austin Convention Center and got dropped off in an empty parking lot! LOL! Most people Uber or walk here because the lot is not owned by the wine bar and prices vary for the parking. The door faces the access road off of 35, so I just walked around. Anyhow, I was greeted warmly by Michelin (hope I spelled that close to correct!) even though two large parties were closing out their tab. She walked me through the concept and apologized profusely for not having any charcuterie boxes left or a food truck on site. That was a bummer because I was in need of a snack. Oh well! The variety of wines at my disposal more than made up for what it was lacking in food. I tried a couple of sweet options (the watermelon margarita was a sweet surprise!), a couple of interesting whites (a Tempranillo!), and a couple of reds, too. I wish we had one of these close to me in San Antonio. This would be my spot; no doubt!
