I was stunned to find a large selection of boots that actually fit me & even more stunned to find an owner who was on-site, full of info & friendly! When I asked about a different type of boot style, the owner showed me a catalog that had hundreds of different styles. He brought in a bunch for stock & even called me when thry arrived to stop down to try some out. The Leather Genie made custom belts for me which was a gift for my boyfriend. I actually got 2 of them and he loved them both. The simpleness of just a belt was made with such great craftsmanship. And great customer service as well, I need the holes to be widened due to specialty buckles and upon bringing them in, she altered them right away ensuring my satisfaction of her work. After 1 time wearing them the sole of the boot completely fell off. It appears to have been adhered with tape. They are in worse shape now than when I brought them there. I called to see if I can get my money back. They said they have to check their cameras!! I never heard of such a thing. How does a business function like this. They look like new and were polished also. There's a Landis shoe machine in the back and patching sewing machine. The repairs are not outsourced. Decades ago there were shoe repair shops in every neighborhoods. It's a dying trade; that takes a lot of skill and talent. They have shoe products such as Meltonian polishes, laces, Barge cement, et al. for sale. They also do tailoring, as well. I can't vouch for seamstress work, but if it's as well done as the shoe repair.
