Ken & his people were wonderful! Gave us a reasonable quote and when we decided to go with them they scheduled the install (indirect water heater system) the very next day! They showed up when they said they would and completed the job in 4 1/2 hours! Clean up was perfect! Ken wouldn't take the entire amount we owed him until he was sure there were no problems! So lucky we went with them! We had some, not quite professional, companies who were annoyed that we didn't choose them and even asked us to send them Ken's quote!!! Almost 3 years ago Cape Cod Mechanical did a great job installing two new boilers in my parent's home and in a rental I have in Sandwich. My dad called Cape Cod Mechanical last year & had the boiler cleaned (I paid for it). My regular tech cleaned the boiler today and asked why I had never had it cleaned the boiler since it was installed? I was puzzled & explained it was just done last year! He showed me how a copper pipe ran over the heat chamber and would have to be removed to clean it... and it had never been done. When he opened up the boiler it was a mess. Full of soot because it hadn't been cleaned and the wrong nozzle had been installed increasing soot and oil consumption. Very disappointed. I'd like my money back for last years cleaning. read more

He installed our Google Nest thermostat, fixed a few things and patiently answered all my questions about our A/C and heating systems. This was our first experience with this company. CC Mechanical installed a new HVAC system in our home July 2020. There were a few glitches with the install (the intake was loud; we had to call on several occasions to get a technician back to finish work) but overall we were satisfied with the job. The company serviced it for us twice after the install - just seasonal maintenance checks. When we called this year to expand the system into a new addition we are building, we were told the owner no longer wanted to do business with us. No explanation. End of call. What? Who does that?? STAY AWAY from this company because they might drop you, too. read more

Be careful when hiring this business. I called them to work on a problem and made sure to ask their rates, which are $100 for the first half hour, and $25 for every 15 minutes thereafter. The technician did the job in an hour and fifteen minutes. Part of that time, unfortunately, was spent calling the manufacturer to check specifications, which turned out to be fairly long due to wait times. I expected to be charged for the hour and fifteen minutes labor, but was very surprised to learn they also charge for the trip from their office to the home. Nobody told me this when I asked about the rates, and when I was presented with the bill, it was for and hour and 45 minutes in labor. I was told I had to pay for the time spent driving to my home from their office. At the quoted rates, you're paying dearly while they drive to your place. I've never had anybody charge me to drive to my home and work on something. So I wound up paying $225 in labor for a man to be at my place for only an hour and fifteen minutes, and once again, nobody disclosed this travel time charge when I asked about rates. Cape Cod Mechanical Systems (CCMS) has taken care of my HVAC maintenance and all plumbing repairs for the last six years. Their logo reads "Heating-Cooling-Plumbing". They replaced my water heater, fixed leaks, toilets, pipes, washer valves, etc. The repairs totaled over a couple thousand dollars. A long-term customer. A couple of weeks ago when it was really hot I went to take a shower in the evening and there was no cold water (Moen push/pull handle, left hot, right cold). The next day I had a scheduled ac maintenance at 2pm, so I called them in the morning to let them know I also had a shower emergency as well (July 4th company coming and no shower). The technician showed up two and a quarter hours late with no explanation or apology. The ac maintenance was done with no issues. He said the shower problem was probably a cartridge replacement. I had gone out in the morning and bought a cartridge just in case, as CCMS has sometimes charged me twice retail for parts. The technician replaced the cartridge, but it didn't fix the problem. He went to the basement and was looking at the pipes, came back upstairs and then said the balancing spool needed to be replaced, after taking it out and putting it back in. He said he couldn't fix it because he didn't have the part and all plumbing supply places were now closed or closing (it was about 4:40 pm). I asked him to please speak with the boss to try to fit me in the next day. He said "I'll see you tomorrow". I didn't get any call in the morning and called their office about 10:30am. Spoke to the receptionist who didn't know anything, and said she'd get back to me. Later that afternoon I received a voicemail from her that said "we're too busy to fix your shower and my boss said to find a plumber..just look one up". So my plumber is telling me to get a plumber. Inexplicable. Inexplicably bad business. First real emergency and they are gone. Finding a new plumber on Cape Cod right before July 4th weekend...impossible. (in addition, I had texted the boss (Sid) the day before to order me a part for something else and set up an install...he never got back to me). However...had some incredible luck..called a friend and got the name of a plumber (this is 10 minutes after I got the bad news). Called him, did not get a voicemail, and he answered the phone. Asked me what the problem was, and after I described it, he said I needed a balancing spool. I asked him how he knew, and he said "any competent plumber would know". Asked me where I lived, said he was nearby between jobs, and that he would come over in 15 minutes. He comes over and while we're walking upstairs, I asked him if he had the part with him...he said "any competent plumber would have two or three of these on their truck". Previous plumber said I also would need (to pay for) an extraction tool to get some of the stuck part out. New plumber popped the debris out with a screwdriver and said "there's your extraction tool". New plumber took a total of about one-half hour and charged a very fair price. Previous plumber (CCMS) charged me a hundred dollars in addition to the ac maintenance fee to accomplish nothing but aggravate me. CCMS is no longer in my phone book. read more

These people are complete frauds and rip-off artists. My AC wouldn't switch on and one of their techs came and discovered it was because the breaker switched off. End of story right? WRONG!!! For some reason the tech decided to tinker with my unit and after I paid him $300 and he left nothing but warm air was coming out. I called them again to inform them of the situation the tech came again and to make a long story short he just made it worse. (He told me something along the lines that I needed a new fan belt but my AC was working fine until he tinkered with it) I called the office to ask them when they will address my AC problem and the woman she said something along the lines of "I passed your information on to our manager and he will get around to it sooner or later". Meanwhile I've been suffering in this sweltering apt FOR TWO WHOLE MONTHS!!! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!!! read more

Terrible company. Installed a new water heater which didn't work. They replaced the same part twice- still not working. They then told us there is nothing more they can do. On top of this, they are charging us for coming out to 'fix' the water heater they installed which never worked. I would highly recommend using a different company. read more

Worked with our budget and installed new HVAC and plumbing for our bathroom. Can't say enough good things about Sid, the business owner. It's hard to find honest workers on the Cape but everyone that we've encountered at CCMS has been great and really wonderful to work with. If you are looking for HVAC install or have a plumbing job I highly recommend CCMS. We had our HVAC installed in the fall and it has been awesome this winter! Just started using the AC and am super impressed with that as well. read more

These guys gave me a fair quote, educated me on all the options, and built exactly what I asked for. They show up when they say they will, they do the job they promise and sometimes a few extras just for good measure (their electrician fixed other issues in my house, their office applied for all the rebates available to me, the owner even paid the pizza guy when my wallet was trapped behind fresh set tile!) I've hired Cape Cod Mechanical multiple times, and I'll never work with anyone else if I can help it. I own both a home and rental property, and I consider Cape Cod Mechanical to be "My Guys". read more

I cannot say enough good about this company! Our factory heater/blower went out on the coldest day of the year and Cape Cod Mechanical owner, Sid Horton, came over, gave us an estimate and we agreed. The price was right and the service was beyond compare. The heater was installed and it is efficient and quiet and just what we needed. They were both sympathetic to our situation and compassionate about our employees. Kudos all around to the men who came to install the system and to Mr. Horton for a fair price and quick service. read more

Absolutely horrible service. The first time the tech came to my house to fix our a/c, he did nothing but complain about having to come to do the job and insisted he couldn't fix the unit without another tech to help. I had to schedule another service call specifically to have two techs come and do the job. A week and a half later (without a/c) , no one showed up to the scheduled time 10-12. When I called the office at 12:30, they insisted the appointment was for 2-4. It wasn't, but I had no choice but to wait. Then at 4:15 the same tech who had been here before shows up and the first thing he says is I have to pay for his travel time from Hyannis because he was sent there by his boss before coming to my house. Then I ask where the second tech is and he says no one else could make it. I had this scheduled for a week and a half for two techs to come! Of course he couldn't fix he unit because he needed another person, so he left again without fixing anything. Honestly, it was the most ridiculous experience I have ever had with any contractor or service company. The worst! Don't waste your time on this company. They clearly don't care about customer service at all, and their tech was completely incompetent. If I could have posted this review with zero stars, I would have, but the app doesn't let you post without at least one star. read more
