Conveniently located near the ferry terminal and also near the Hyannis Harbor hotel where we were staying for a weekend getaway to the Cape a few weekends ago. We walked down the street, checked out the menu which looked good. It was a bit hot so we decided to sit inside however it felt a bit dark inside so we went back outside and were seated under the covered area outside. The menu is quite extensive so no trouble finding something you like. We ordered the crab cake appetizer which was good - I prefer more lump crab meat and this was all minced together but still good. For my main dish I ordered the salmon which came with roasted potatoes and veggies with a light sauce. It was nice - salmon was tender, potatoes were crispy and tender - good portion size. Hubs ordered the dayboat cod and he enjoyed it. Servers were nice and they even took our photo on request. It's a popular spot you can tell - both inside and outside were busy. Was nice sitting outside- they have these planters on the side which make for nice outdoor decor. Overall a good experience!

Our server was ok and when my friend asked for a straw she brought over two unwrapped straws completely holding the ends that my friend would either be placing in her drink or into her mouth. My friend did not use the straws. My friend also asked for "to-go" silverware as her cutlery was a bit dirty - our server seemed annoyed. Small requests overall that made us feel like we were burdening her. I got the Buffalo Cauliflower which was ok. Drenched in sauce and soggy. My friend ordered a fish and chips that was the only thing to save the meal.

Mattakeese Wharf... mmhmm!…read more A destination and one we frequent on a whim; we will drive from WeBe to Barnstable just for a dinner. Everything is top shelf, fresh and prepared exceptionally well. Prices are just right. Staff is friendly and very professional. The menu is large and the facility is large, nautical themed, and also very clean. A darn fine two pound boiled lobster. Seasonal. Valet parking. It's like visiting an old friend at the North River House or Justin's Hearthside... you know it's going to be good. No negatives whatsoever. A must visit when on the Cape.

Their broiled scallops were drowning in an unidentifiable liquid, what should have been Ritz topping was an orange mush. Green beans were nicely al dente but unfortunately served my least fav way: brushed with whatever oil the kitchen uses. 3. Their drinks SUCK. Had a manhattan and a Hugo spritz. Barely tasted any bourbon and the Hugo spritz was all club soda, not a drop of champagne or st germain. 4. Lobster bisque was very sherry forward 5. My kids burgers were medium when medium rare was ordered. The positive was the wedge salad had a TON of blue cheese. I suspect this place stays in business bc of all the whale watchers exiting the boat. Sad to leave such a negative review but if you're reading this, find another place. They really deserve 1 star here.

They have outdoor and indoor seating. Being a nice day we sat outside. I ordered the lemon chicken piccata with angel hair pasta which was really good - very rich and buttery but so good. The hubs ordered the sausage with pasta and his dish was really good too. Service was friendly. I went inside to use the restroom and was really blown away by the beautiful decor inside. Really nice chandeliers red interior ornate lighting and tall ceilings. Lots of seating and a bar area. It was a nice day for lunch outside and we had a very pleasant relaxing time!

It was a beautiful day outside so we decided to sit at the outdoor bar. We ordered drinks and we decided to split the chicken finger appetizer. There was an option to toss them in lemon sauce or buffalo for an extra $2 or so, and I kindly asked the bartender if we could do half and half. I even offered to pay for both sauces, but he said they couldn't do it. I am not sure why, but it was a bit odd to me. Regardless, when the chicken fingers came out I was shocked. They were basically boneless chicken wings, they were tiny! $18 for 6 of the tiniest tenders I've ever seen. The chicken fingers were decently tasty, but the portion to price was a bit ridiculous. We were still very hungry when we left.

The restaurant looks much bigger from the outside than when you actually get inside. There is an entry foyer and a dining room and Tavern in a separate room. I pictured the restaurant to be much different than it actually was. We sat in a booth in the Tavern. It was a busy weekend night and was rather loud in there from patrons at the bar. The music seemed to be primarily 70's rock. The service was excellent and waitstaff were very attentive. I had a cup of the squash bisque which was a recommendation of one of the waitstaff, sour dough rolls, and then half broiled chicken, mashed, broccoli and cranberry ginger chutney. The chicken was moist and tender and the bisque was creamy and smooth. Veg and potato were delicious also. I think the cranberry chutney would be better without the ginger as it had a strong ginger taste and cranberry would have gone better with something like orange or nuts in it. I had a glass of Berringer white zin and for dessert, the toasted almond cake. My friend had white clam chowder, scrod, with mashed and broccoli, and a molten lava cake and she enjoyed hers as well. Be sure to sit in the dining room if you go there on a weekend night because the bar is very loud. Everything was very good. My only complaint would be the loud dining area.
