She was communicative, asked questions about any pains or injuries and even asked if it was okay for her to work on my face for tension pressure points. Being a former masseuse, communication is important and she did just that! I'm shocked by the five star reviews. Maybe it's because I don't think I had the owner as my therapist. My masseuse never introduced herself. It was an Asian style massage. However, you have to be very careful with some of the sudden movements. I would definitely not recommend. Could be unsafe for anyone with injuries. read more

I was visiting UMich for work and felt my tendons aching a bit. I have chronic plantar fasciitis so am prone to other issues due to my unbalanced walk to avoid the pain. Went in for a quick 45min foot massage. Best plan ever! The place is clean, quite, and the massage was amazing. The masseuse actually went lighter on my feet that I have plantar fasciitis without me even needing to tell them. I would be a regular but I unfortunately do not live in Michigan. Excellent foot massage/reflexology by Judy at Capella. We booked our appointment for two the day before. Service was done in very comfortable, reclining chairs in a relaxing environment. Foot massage began with a soak in warm water. We selected the 60 minute session and really enjoyed it. Judy was very knowledgeable about the health impacts of reflexology. I discovered this place in a little nook on Main Street on the edge of downtown Ann Arbor. The service was amazing - enjoyed a 75 minute service -- 10 min foot soak, 50 min reflexology, and 15 neck/back massage -- all for $59! Julie, the owner was lovely and professional. Finally, a Foot Massage place that is cheap, affordable, and gets the job done. I've been looking for a place like this all over Michigan with no luck until I saw their 'foot massage' sign while I was driving down on Main St Ann Arbor. The place is really quiet and has a very relaxing atmosphere inside. The owner Julie is on point and she checks on you during the massage if the pressure is okay or too strong. What I like about places like these is they're not as expensive as those typical chain massage parlors. They only charge $29 for 45 minutes of foot massage and it also includes a little bit of back, neck, arms, shoulders, and lower legs. You can barely find a cheap place like this in Michigan. These foot spas usually only exists in major cities like Chicago, New York, and California so I was surprised to finally find one here in Ann Arbor. I'm usually on my feet a lot when I'm working outdoors so this place definitely helps a lot to ease and relax my feets and legs. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a refreshing massage specially to people that work on their feet all day. read more

I am from out of state at a convention and looked up around 5-6 spots to get a deep tissue massage. All spots were around $80/hr.....to expensive if you ask me! Cappella was only $55/hr so I figured it might not be that great. I'm pretty attuned to mood, atmosphere, cleanliness, temp, lighting....etc... This place has it all! I was offered a cold beverage when I arrived (many choices), good room temperature (I'm picky, not too hot or too cold) and a warm welcome. I was given a print out to identify areas to keep away from (I used it to show areas to focus on instead so there would be no miscommunication). The room I was in was a comfortable temperature, quiet, slight essential oil scent, relaxing spa music, trickling water, mood lighting and nicely decorated. I was able to fully undress if I wanted (I did). Full body massage with oil and finished off with hot towels. The only thing I would change is more pressure. She did pretty good deep pressure but I like extremely deep pressure. Bathrooms were clean and I was offered a cold beverage on the way out. I would highly recommend this massage for the price. read more
