I loved the steam room/shower, so well needed. Anne gave me an absolutely wonderful massage and listened to exactly what I needed and wanted. I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Very personable. I normally prefer to not spend more than $60/hour unless I've been to the person before, but I didn't mind paying $70 once I heard there was a free steam room. I'm not one to give out 5 stars to just anyone, but I absolutely loved everything about my experience at In Touch. The day I booked my massage I was in desperate need of a some last minute relaxation, and I called all around town looking for a same day appointment on a Friday afternoon. Fortunately, I found In Touch and they were able to fit me in easily and for that I was extremely grateful. It's located in a slightly obscure location, near Briarwood Mall but not really near much else. It resembles a mobile home and not the usual massage/day spa. But don't let the manufactured home facade fool you, because inside you will find your home for relaxation and bliss. The inside decor is really nothing special, but it is quiet, clean and comfortable. If you're looking for a posh spa with a fabulous waiting room that resembles a Design Within Reach catalog or the like, you will not find it here. But if you're after a great massage, this is definitely the place for you. I took advantage of the free steam shower before my appointment and just loved it. I was relaxed before my massage even began. I am one of those weirdos who is uber sensitive and can't stand a super deep tissue massage. My therapist was wonderfully intuitive and managed to find the perfect amount of pressure and apply it consistently throughout the entire massage. I almost fell asleep and I'm pretty sure I drooled. I have been to many different place in town and In Touch is by far the best. Go for an hour and you will receive a complimentary 10 min. steam or sauna. I always go for the steam just because it's different and really helps my body prepare for the massage. Colleen is who I visit regularly. She really knows how to find the trouble spots and make it all better. If I had the money to spend, I would visit them once a month. I would say I go about 3 times a year and every time it's consistent and I know what to expect. Yes, it's in an odd building, but you get past that pretty quick. I have been worked on by others, and I think everyone there is great. Although Colleen has been my favorite, so I will continue to see her. read more

I have chronic back pain due to scoliosis. I spent years going to chiropractors and taking pain meds. Then I found In Touch. I have been going to In Touch for over 5 years now. I go on a regular basis. I no longer rely on pain medicines and no longer see a chiropractor. I have found a deep tissue massage allows me to function better physically and mentally. I see the owner of In Touch, Barb Kinney, for most of my visits. Her ability to know what is bothering you by simply looking at you standing or walking is amazing. When I hear her say "hmmmmmmm" I know she found something that needs her attention. I swear by her touch. I have seen other therapist there as well. Each have their own unique abilities and skills. I have seen Gail, Colleen, Brian, John and many more. Each therapist will have a conversation with you before your massage so you can discuss your concerns and issues. You will be asked about the degree of pressure and touch throughout your massage. I didn't begin with the complimentary 10 minute steams when I started visiting In Touch. (I was worried about my hot flashes.) But now I wouldn't miss them. I feel they help prepare me for the massage as well as help clear out my body. I love In Touch and massage so much that I tend to buy massage gift certificates for everyone! My husband gets a hot stone massage from me. Which he loves. He has fallen asleep during many massages as he reaches a rare level of relaxation. My children's teachers are now recipients of end-of-year thank you massages. I've given them to sisters, dad, nieces, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, friends and even business clients. No one escapes the benefits of massage if I can help it. Call me a convert. I never though I would put so much belief in massage. But it has worked wonders for me. Try it. You'll like it. And that is my two cents worth. read more

I received a decent massage here, but it was less spa and more sports therapy in execution. The room was very bright and had lots of decorations that seemed more like being in an office than a relaxing spa setting. There was spa music, but it really didn't make much difference. The massage was effective in releasing tense spots, but one pet peeve I have is when it is not balanced. Here, I had certain techniques done on one side but not the other. That is to be expected if you have a "knot" to be worked out, but this was not the case - felt more like he forgot what he did on the right side so he didn't do it on left. I usually leave a good massage feeling some combination of ready to nap and totally revitalized. That sounds contradictory, but I guess it is hard to explain. I left this massage feeling ho-hum, not desiring any time to linger before getting off the table. I was offered the steam or sauna before, but found it unsettling as I didn't know (without a clock) how long before I'd be summoned out to go for the massage. I wish they'd have reversed it as I think I'd enjoy it more after the massage as I could also shower (I was not outright, but sort of discouraged from showering). The water container didn't appear very clean and the cup of water offered was small and less than quenching after an hour plus. One thing I've always been told is to hydrate when you get a massage, so that plastic cup seemed paltry. Overall, I think the extra touches were a bit underwhelming. read more

Great place! All the staff was friendly and welcoming. I was able to get in same-day for a massage and John was excellent. He is a fellow AAIMT grad, so I know he knows his stuff! I had an absolutely wonderful massage from Erin LaVaque at InTouch. It was a gift certificate for recovery after a marathon. She found all of the (many) spots holding pain and tension and had a very good sense of how much pressure to apply. Great experience! The steam is also a nice idea. Very impressed with in touch massage. The 10 minutes of sauna or steam room before the massage is the icing on the cake. I have always wanted this, and I typically will take a sauna at my gym before a massage but to just do it and walk into the other room was fantastic. Its basically a $1/minute for the massage. The massage was also awesome. They asked what was hurting or bothering me I said, "Just a massage, nothing in particular." But the masseuse was able to just find troubled areas like my neck and shoulders as I work a lot on computers, as well as knowing my IT bands were quite tight (as this is where I am least flexible). I have received about 20-25 massages throughout my entire lifetime and this was the first one I have ever fallen asleep in if that says anything. An extremely awesome job too with the deep tissue, it is two days later and I am still sore in some spots (in a good way), and being a big guy this typically never happens and the massages are never hard enough. I will definitely be going back to this place. Another thing to note is I found out that michigan does not require massage certifications, but everyone at intouch has their state and many have their national certication. Just something to consider if you are looking at other places. read more

I highly recommend In Touch. I very rarely splurge on massages, but when stress has me knotted up or I've otherwise managed to jack up my body and irritate old injuries, a deep tissue/myofascial massage here is remarkably restorative and a really great value. Especially recommend Brian for that kind of work. I had no idea that massage could resolve so many aches and pains. They also offer a wide range of spa services here, and if that is your preference you are guaranteed to relax to the point of happy, limp liquifaction. read more

Was supposed to be able to use a sauna prior to receiving a massage, the therapist was running behind and my wife and I were unable to use the sauna, they did not offer to use afterward or give a discount. The table I was on felt like it was sagging in the middle and also felt like it was on a decline not a comfortable feeling at all. I would not go back at all. read more

I am not one for facials, but was talked into one. Wow! I fell in love with the mini facial and SUGARING! I treat myself and my 16 year old to sugaring. I can not tell you how beautiful our skin looks and feels. It is an inexpensive natural way to make you look and feel wonderful.
