I was first introduced to Jessica Laino by one of my friends that routinely visited her for hair maintenance. I was extremely skeptical about going to see a hair dresser because my hair was AWFUL since I hadn't been to an actual salon in years! It was so dry, uneven, thin, and unhealthy from all of the dying and heat damage that I had previously done to it over the years. I would always wear my hair up so that way I could hide it and not be judged or questioned on why my hair was so shitty. It also would NOT grow no matter how many vitamins or products I used. So I eventually just said "eff it" and went to the salon because things just couldn't have gotten any worse at that point. For our first appointment she colored my hair and helped cut off the dead ends and fixed the areas that were lacking. I saw her a few months later and we did another touch up and another trim. She also helped suggest hair products that I should use and explained WHY I should use them and the BENEFITS. She wasn't your ordinary hair dresser, just trying to make commission off of the products that she sold. She genuinely cared about my hair and the way that it made me feel. She didn't want me leaving her salon feeling anything less than amazing or she felt as if she didn't do her job right. She only makes decisions based on what is ideal for your hair health. I wanted so many times for her to just do these drastic hair style changes and she informed me that it wasn't in my hairs best interest to do that because so many things could go wrong and it could negatively affect my hair health and progress. I have currently been going to her for a year and my hair has made a total 360 transformation! It is about 8 inches longer and fuller (not counting the numerous trims she has done) and I actually feel confident with it. I can just wake up in the morning and leave my house for work, I don't have to spend 20 min blow drying it for volume and then attempting to put it up in some kind of messed up bun to hide the damage. I would 100% recommend her to anyone that is struggling with hair care, style choices, or product questions, anything! Long story short : I'm in tears... It pains me to leave negative reviews, and to be honest I did enjoy my visit at Capelli Avanti in terms of comfort and kindness, however I am severely disappointed in how my hair turned out. Initially I asked for a (and I quote) "very subtle" change in my natural virgin hair color. I showed them pictures of the golden brown balayage brunette I was looking for. I am not a stylist and hadn't had my hair done in over a decade, so I told my stylist I trusted her to do what she needed. Well, when she finally finished it looked like she had bleached the bottom half of my hair super ashy blond, which it turns out she did. Not very subtle, but okay, maybe I wasn't specific... I asked for a color correction and one of the owners came over to try and help. After another processing, it came out okay but it definitely wasn't what I had asked for. I was tired and upset so I said thank you, bought a severely expensive conditioner they recommended and went home to see if it would grow on me. After my first wash the conditioner they recommend, it had turned my hair a cool-aid pink red. I was in tears. They had me come in and I was told they would try and fix it but that they would charge me extra to dry it. I again showed them the picture I wanted and they told me that's not the color I asked for, so I again deferred to their expertise, and now my hair is a lovely (joking) eggplant red... I'm devastated. And to be told I would have to pay extra to not leave the salon with wet hair was just crushing. I paid a lot of money to have my beautiful natural hair ruined. I look like a clown. They said I was more than welcome to come back and try again in a few weeks... I don't think I could bring myself to go back there. I want a refund for the color not the cut, the cut looks amazing which is the two stars I'm giving. I shouldn't be paying more for a blow dry, I should be getting my money back. They are nice when talking with you but at the end of the day I don't think I mattered much to them. read more

I don't know why it took me so long to review this salon but anyway, I loveeee it here! I decided to get extensions and I could not find a stylist/salon that I was sure about going to. I had been to Capelli Avanti before to see a stylist who no longer works here (she was great too) but I didn't know someone here did extensions. Then through the Capelli Avanti Instagram, I found Kassandra who does extensions here and I was so excited!! I was happy to make an appointment because I'd been in the salon before and trusted it. I met Kassandra and let me tell you... she's AMAZING!!!! She has made my long blonde hair dreams come true!!! ...and brown... and red... and blonde again but seriously though. Kassandra is such a sweet person and I am so happy that I met her and that I found somebody I trust. The salon itself is also great. Everyone is so friendly, the place is always clean and just a great atmosphere. Love it! read more

I've been to this salon around 4 times now and I've had Julia color, cut and style my hair. I found her on her social media page and I did not even know her, but I could tell her skills were great. She is very nice, and I trust her with my hair. I'm so satisfied with my color (blonde) as I've had bad experiences in other places. She's very personable and makes me feel very confident when she does my hair. The salon is very clean, beautiful and the other workers there are helpful, kind and always offering a type of beverage or any other need. I have been going to Capelli Avanti since they were located on Elm Street in Worcester. I have always enjoyed my visit, loved my hair each and every time. They can't do enough for you to please you. Sarajane from Capelli Avanti is one of the best hair dressers I have ever been to. I have NEVER liked getting my hair cut/colored but have always wanted funky stuff done. I trust her completely with my hair and what we're doing no matter how crazy. She takes her time, does her best work and is VERY understanding. I like what I like and she completely understands and makes a point to make me feel comfortable. I would highly recommend Sarajane to anyone. She doesn't my grandmother and my moms hair as well as mine! So happy I don't have to keep searching for a hair stylist! read more

My son and his bride planned a wedding in the Worcester/Spencer Ma area. Since I am from southern NH, I made an appointment to have my hair styled and my makeup done at the Capelli Avanti, which was a short walk from the hotel. Kara did a fantastic job on dressing up my hairstyle for this most special occasion! Even my 95 year old dad complimented me (and that has never happened!!!). Julia did a great job on my makeup as well. I felt truly elegant for my son and now daughter-in-law's wedding. I absolutely recommend this salon since I am a very pleased customer!! read more

My girlfriend and I went here to get a fresh look for the new years. I wanted to chop off my long hair and she wanted highlights. We were set up with Dino and Wow! My hair turned out AMAZING, hands down best hair cut of my life. He made me actually like my hair. My girlfriends' highlights look amazing as well, very natural. Dino even gave my girlfriend a discount when he found out she was on a tight budget as a nonprofit organization worker. I have been seeing Kara for Years for my curly, frizzy, thick unruly hair. She can get my hair straight and silky like no one else. I recently had the goldwell keratin treatment done hoping I could get my own hair straight and smooth...and it worked amazing!! Spent two weeks in the Florida summer humidity and my hair looked the same as when I walked out the door. I don't even have to use a flatiron anymore! My mother introduced me to this salon more than 20 years ago. She has been living in Florida for 18 years and still misses it! I fortunately still live here and am still a very, very satisfied customer. My original stylist was Sal and he did my hair and my bridesmaids. He eventually set off on his own and I switched to Dino whom my mom had always used. I remain extremely happy with all aspects of the salon, the atmosphere, the receptionists, the sylists. I just received another fabulous cut from Pasquale on Wednesday, June 26th. He is exceptionally gifted, honest, and sweet...I have been wanting to go to him for years, but felt as though I would be abandoning my stylist/friend of 40 years. Well, that is not a problem anymore. He is the owner and very humble...treats you like a family member. I believe that all of the stylists are great...however, I will stick with Pasquale. Just had my hair dyed and cut with blow dry by Dino. He was great. I appreciate when hairdressers give their thoughts since I am always looking for what fits best. He explained what his recommendations were, was not pushy in the least bit and very friendly. He did a great job! I first went to Julia about three moths ago after I saw a picture of hair she had done on my Instagram feed. She completely transformed my hair into a beautiful ombré that I never thought I'd be able to pull off. Earlier today, I went to a mediocre chain salon to get a hair cut. The stylist completely destroyed my hair, layering it unevenly and making an absolute mess. Luckily, I came to Capelli Avanti to get it fixed and hair stylist Alice Scott did an amazing job of fixing it! Reasonably priced, especially with a student discount, for fabulous service. If bright and unique is what you are after she is the one to see...I give her free reign of my color and I have yet to be disappointed by anything she has created for me.
