Essentially I'm here to get my hair done with Anna, and I really appreciate the fantastic service. She is a true artist at blending color, I can say I have gone to some of the best salons Dallas has to offer and I have never found someone with her talent. One other thing that I find very helpful, is that she is honest. She will let you know if perhaps a color or cut might not be the best suited for you, she isn't there to "push products" or upcharge you. She truly listens to you, that is hard to find in a stylist. Excellent experience! I had booked a hair cut with Amanda and love the results! She did a great job cutting of the split ends but not going too crazy. She listened to what I wanted and I left knowing my next hair cut with definitely be with her. I get my hair colored at Osgood Salon but have had overzealous hair cuts there where I spend months and months growing it out. Amanda was great at giving me exactly what I asked for. I came here with virgin black hair, asked for a hair cut and balayage with dark red/brown color. I left with a nice haircut but blonde/orange hilights. When I stated the fact the lady helping me stated I will grow to like the color, it's because it's your first time. I came back the very next day to go darker. The same lady looked at the same photo I showed her earlier and said oh you want an invisible balayage? Lolll.. well I left an hour later with darker but still orange hair. Had a consultation with the owner about dying my hair blonde. I have virgin hair and 10 years ago when I had it dyed it came out horrible and dry and never felt or looked the same so I was hesitant to dye it again after letting my hair grow out. The owner did a magnificent job lightening my base to a brown then doing a balayage treatment. I was extremely happy with the results and would definitely go back and maybe play around with other blonde colors. It was a little pricey but overall had an amazing experience. Everyone was really nice and the salon was very clean and well taken care of. The chairs for the wash are very comfortable. Overall: great service and quality work!!! read more

By far my favorite salon! I have been going here for about 2-3 years. Very professional and clean. I have seen Melissa and Tiana, both are amazing hairdressers and very friendly. The owner and staff of this salon are absolutely fabulous!!! I purchased a groupon for a cut, partial highlights, and deep conditioning treatment. First off, I wrote down the wrong time for the appt. (by 30 min) secondly, I got lost (which got me to the appt 45 min late). The staff and owner were both so accomidating and understanding and I think just a bit sympathetic. Not only did they still see me (which in it self blew me away! I just knew the would have to reschedule my appt) but, they were all so friendly and not at all rude or put off by my tardiness. The owner, Younes, did my hair. And what an awesome job he did! I absolutely love love love the cut and highlights! Plus, he was friendly and outgoing thoughout my entire appointment! I was so impressed by my visit with them! The fact that I used a groupon (so I had an incredible deal) and regardless of how late I was that they were still so friendly and accomidating is rare for any business. The salon is absolutely beautiful and very modern, very chic feeling. Plus, the owner has developed his own hair care product line, which they use in the salon. The shampoo smells so good and left my hair feeling so smooth. And, he finished my blow-out with a smoothing cream that was just heavenly!!! Melissa did an AMAZING job on my hair. I came in on a Groupon and was a little bit nervous coming to a new salon. But from the moment I walked in everyone made me feel very welcomed and comfortable. The salon is so bright and beautiful on the inside. The girl behind the desk offered me a delicious cappuccino (you should definitely try them!) and a water. I told Melissa that I wanted to go back to my coppery red hair and she showed me some colors that would work best. The color was the absolute best I'd ever had done. Most stylists can't seem to hit that red sweet spot, but Melissa nailed it! She took her time and was very professional and personable. You can tell she knows her stuff! From the moment a stylist picks up the shears to cut your hair, you can tell when that stylist is seriously gifted: that's what I experienced at Capelli Salon Dallas. Secondly, color is the other 'acid test' (in my way of thinking) for a salon. My all-over medium brown color came out just right for the first time in a salon. It's usually either to reddish or too mousy ash. Their prices are right down the middle, and they only sell their own Capelli brand, so there's no pushing the customer to buy. My hair was treated to a deep conditioning, and 4-5 weeks later, it's remains shiny, healthy and strong. I'm going back for highlights & am going to do the deep condition again. My hair cut is so perfect for the shape of my face and excitedly done: I cannot wait to get back into one of Capelli's chairs! read more

Ridiculously OVER PRICED! The owner will make up his own prices while you're in the chair. I was charged over $350 for a cut and two color foil highlight the first time-- and $200 for a one color highlight the second time. I went back because the end product was beautiful and they fit me in the schedule that day. Both times, he rushed through it so fast, I walked out with dye stains ALL over by forehead! read more

This was my first time -- It's really clean and easy to find. The salon is cute and well decorated. They offered me Fiji water, warm tea or coffee. I came at a weird time, but it felt like the staff were distracted even though, when I came in there was only one other client who was wrapping up. My stylist walked by me several times (though we were the only two in the room) without speaking to me. She went to the back where I could hear her laughing and chatting with other stylists, leaving me alone in the salon until after my appointment time had begun, before she came out and acknowledged me. Like I said, it was the middle of the week and 3 o'clock so it was strange to me that she scheduled another lady on top of my appointment (we were the only 2 clients in the salon). We both needed color so she was switching back and forth between the two of us and having another girl rinse our hair, etc. All of that wasn't a huge deal to me, but it did mean that I left much later than I would have otherwise. Again, that wasn't a problem for me because of my schedule. I got highlights which I would give a C and the cut I'd give a B. She did save my bangs from the brink of destruction but they don't flow well into the rest of my haircut and my layers look sorta weird as I have very thick and full hair. My highlights are the exact same width and the exact same space apart from one another, which in my opinion, is a little too uniform, unsubtle and unnatural for the look I was going for. By no means is my hair a train wreck -- I wouldn't even say I need to go get it fixed. It just wasn't the greatest cut and color experience. All in all, my experience wasn't bad, it wasn't great; I will say it was "good" or "fine." I suspect that my experience may have been greatly influenced by my stylist, the day of the week and the time of day. read more

Bought a Groupon for a haircut and didn't really have high hopes. I called to schedule an appointment and they got me in that afternoon! Amanda did my hair and she was amazing. She actually listened to what I wanted which was a nice change! The visit was pretty quick - about an hour and a half for a wash, deep condition, and cut, but I didn't feel rushed at all. Ok, so i love Yelp and should write reviews more often, but this is actually my first review. I couldnt not write one about this place. So, I found a salon where i can go to now for regularly for cuts and coloring. Gino's partner, Younes, worked on my hair. I needed a color correction after I tried to lighten it and it was full of "golden" tones that I hated. I wanted a very light, ashy blonde (my natural color is medium brown). We talked for a long time about my hair and what I wanted, and he promised that he would do his best but that it would be hard. The result is perfect. This is perhaps the best color a salon has ever been able to get on my hair. If you really express what you want, they will get it done for you. I also sat next to a girl during my initial free consultation who was just finishing up a haircut. Her hair looked incredible when it was done. Another woman I spoke with said that the way Younis cuts hair makes her hair grown really fast. I have very curly hair which is difficult to keep long, so I definitely plan on going back for periodic trims- and of course color touch-ups. This salon is very professional and artistic and Younis actually comes from a salon in NYC (being from the NE, I felt more comfortable knowing this). He's a cool dude! They also serve beverages including wine, which is not something I've seen very often, so that was a nice touch. read more

I wasn't impressed with the salon, though this was in part due to the abundance of positive reviews I read before I went. I think my expectations were just too high. My appointment was at 6pm, but I was asked to sit while my stylist was "just finishing up". After waiting about 10-15 minutes, Kirsten came over and introduced herself. After following her to a station, I realized she wasn't anywhere close to finishing with her other client. She was able to work on me during breaks (her other client was getting highlights), but it was clear that I was not her primary concern. I understand that for many stylists it is common practice to work on another client while the color develops, but her attention remained focused on the other client throughout my appointment. This made it hard for me to tell her what I was looking for in a haircut. My haircut itself was ok, not bad, but also nothing to write home about. I felt as though my stylist was right out of school. Normally the haircut and style would be over $115 and I have to admit I would never ever pay close to that amount for this service. I had Amanda do my haircut, lowlights and highlights, and a deep condition. It was AMAZING! She definitely knew what she was doing and kept me in the loop the whole way through. Making sure I was ok with the length of the cut, as well as offering water, coffee, and wine. Amanda was very polite, professional, and a great person to chat with while doing an amazing job. I love this salon. I moved to Dallas 6 months ago and have been searching for a good and reliable salon to go to ever since. This is it! It's clean and trendy and they have great customer service. I called Tuesday morning on a long shot hoping to get highlights that same day and they fit me in without a problem. Amanda did my highlights (balayage) and they turned out exactly how I had visioned them. Not only was the color great but Amanda was friendly and I felt comfortable with her immediately. I needed a quick cut but my stylist wasn't available for a last minute appointment. I found Capelli on Groupon and decided to try someone new. Kristin greeted me at the door and immediately took me to the washing station. The chairs at both the wash and style stations were unique and comfortable. No neck cramps here! The stylist offered me a drink and I quickly felt like a regular with the friendly chitchat. For a small location the inside felt very spacious, organized, and nicely decorated. My cut came out good, and Kristin happily offered style tips for me to try at home. On my way out I was given a $30 gift card towards my next visit. I paid $36 before tip for a deep conditioning, cut, and style; which I feel is fair. It appears they have read the reviews and made adjustments to pricing; kudos Capelli! It's been exactly 3 years since my original review for Capelli Salon (esp Anna) and I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! I moved from Dallas to San Francisco in 2014 and among other things started all over trying to find a new hair salon. I experimented going to a lot of salons here for my cut and color in San Francisco during my first 6 months in the hopes of finding an experience and haircut job that was on the same level as Anna's. Even after scouring multiple mid-to-high end salons and paying double of what I paid Dallas I was left disappointed. That's when I decided that I wasn't going to let a cross-country move come between me and Anna. I since started carefully scheduling trips to Dallas to squeeze in my haircuts and it's worked out quite well! Anna is so sweet and continues to do a phenomenal job on my cuts. I am always getting compliments from my coworkers and friends here in San Francisco. Many of them have inquired about my stylist and I tell them that they can see the best hairstylist if they are willing to travel to Dallas :) read more

I came in because I purchased the groupon online. I was a little hesitant because of the (yelp) reviews, but you should look at their facebook page for more reviews. I was 30 min late to my appointment, but Kirsten still cut and styled my hair, and took her time. I've gotten my hair trimmed every now and then, but I had still not found a set-person, and it got soooooo long, I was worried that I wouldn't find someone. My worry totally went away when Kirsten helped me get it to a managable length, she washed, cut, dried, and styled my hair. I really liked that she did a dry cut afterwards. It makes all the difference. Overall I loved the location,, it wasn't overbooked-crowded, and the stylist did awesome! I will definitely be returning. read more

I give 4/5 stars because my stylist was very nice and the salon had a great atmosphere, however, I would not got back to this salon after my experience. I originally called to get a quote for a full balayage and haircut, using the coupon on the salon's website for "buy one service get one free on your first visit". The receptionist quoted me at $90 for a FULL balayage, even though I was planning to get a partial balayage, I wanted to compare prices. Upon arriving at the salon, my stylist said that the better deal would be for me to use the groupon and she would just adjust the price to reflect a partial balayage instead of a face frame balayage, as listed in the groupon. I trusted her judgement and went with it. At the end, she charged me $150 for a full balayage, haircut and deep condition. My issues are as follows: 1) not knowing the price I was going to pay at the register and having to pay $60 more than quoted to me when I initially made my reservation does not sound like the stylist gave me the better deal. 2) I didn't even want a deep condition, and the "deep condition" I was given entailed having conditioner placed in my hair and left there for about 3 minutes and then washed out - not what my deep conditions in the past have looked like. And this is what I paid $60 extra for?!? 3) Towards the end, it was obvious that my stylist was rushed and she hurriedly cut my hair in ~5 minutes. 4) She did a FULL balayage instead of a partial as I had asked for when I sat down in the chair (this was my first time dying my hair so I didn't know to stop her when it was obvious she was doing a full). All my friends have commented on how it looks like I got highlights instead of a balayage effect. read more

I bought a Groupon from here as I was looking for a new stylist, and it was nearby. I'm surprised I took a chance on a new place as I wanted a pretty drastic haircut. I'm a new mom and wanted to do the big hair chop. I took off 1 star, because I had to wait a a long time, the hairstylist had double booked and she had just started on the other girl when I walked in. I would have preferred them to tell me to come back in 30-45 minutes (which is at least how long I had to wait) ... Don't let that scare you off though... It was well worth the wait!! Paris cut my hair, and this was the best haircut I have ever had! I had about 6 inches cut off so it was pretty drastic (for me). I've had so many compliments, my hair still feels healthy and it's been almost 4 months. I'm about to reschedule another appointment. I highly recommend them! read more
