Without even so much as a blink, Jacob knew EXACTLY what the problem was and fixed the fridge in less than 10 minutes. Turned out that his experience taught him that the particular model of icebox we have is well known for this particular issue (faulty fan). Lo and behold, that's what it was, and he knew so before he got here. He had the new fan on his hand when he rang the doorbell. Another nice thing is that he cleaned all the gunk out of the chill cabinet before replacing shelves and contents. All in all Jacob was here for maybe 20 minutes! He answered our questions plus a few tips for best usage and upkeep. He also indicated that otherwise our fridge was running well and normally. A trip to Home Depot and other appliance shops indicated I was looking at $500 to over $700 for a a new compatible dryer plus delivery and installation to replace the noise maker at home. Not knowing what the malady was with the my noise making Whirlpool dryer I decided to call a repair service to see if they could resurrect life back into a machine that had given up. Based on the five star reviews, I selected Tampa Bay Appliance Fix in Brandon. The first good news was that they would be able to send a technician out that afternoon. The second was that the service call fee would be subtracted from the repair work. Five minutes after technician Tim Hart arrival, the drum from the dryer was lying on the floor exposing the worn out parts causing the problem. He had new replacement parts in his van and 30 minutes later the dryer was working soundlessly doing its job. Thanks to the professional work of Tim, the lady of the house was happy and I saved over $500 not having to buy a new dryer. Because it was an older GE long vent dryer it has two blowers and the parts for the secondary blower are very difficult to source. He fixed the switch to get the dryer running again, but we decided against trying to fix the secondary blower fan. Instead, we purchased the newer version of the GE long vent dryer.
