I cannot recommend Wave Vision at all. I recently ordered internet from them because my neighbors said they had good service. But the signal was slow and couldn't even handle a movie download without needing to buffer regularly. Then I got my bill and discovered they wanted almost $70/month (including fees). That was twice what I was paying before. I've switched to ATT Uverse internet which is 1/3 of the cost and much better signal. I also found their cable line-up overpriced so downgraded to the "free" service that comes with my lease. Well, guess what -- it's not free. I was able to deal with is company until they lied to me on why Fox Sports Houston was dropped from the line up last year. (Even before the baseball season was over.) I asked why and was told that the Astros and the Rockets did not renew a contract with FSH. LIE!!!! When I spoke to someone that works for FSH, they said that is so not the truth. I'm on board with everyone else in giving them negative stars. Many negative stars. The TV cable service itself is awful and Customer service reps have the attitude that they are doing you a favor when something's wrong with the cable. They recently changed the bill due date and I only found out because my cable went out. When I talked to the customer service rep, she confirmed they never sent out any email or mail notice about this. Instead automatic renewal customers were figuring it out as their cable went out and they called in to agree to the new due date. She also didn't see anything wrong with this. THEN tonight I was supposed to have friends over to watch the basketball finals. My cable was cut off because of billing issues while I was out of the country so I called and rectified the issue. The rep assured me it would be reset and ready to go when I got home from work and that I didn't need to be in front of the TV when she reset it. Of course I'm home and all I can get is a message on my screen that my service has been canceled. So annoyed. Having to send everyone to a bar. I only use them because my apt complex only offers this or the dish. It's by far the worst household service I've ever had to put up with. This company is fraudulent and needs to be investigated by Better Business Bureau. After I cancelled my internet service, they asked for all equipment to be returned. Once my equipment was returned on time, they advised I wait 6 weeks for them to return my deposit for $100. It's been 2 years now and I haven't gotten a single dime. I have spoken to several representatives from their office, one says we will mail it out, the other says "we are a prepaid service now, we don't hold deposits". If the company name changed, or they acquired another company, I'm still a paying customer. My payments were going to Wave Vision not TV MAX. After I spoke to these people, they went an extra mile to delete all my online records of invoices and payments. I did some research online and they have been sued by several channels for illegally broadcasting their channels without renewing the contract. I am not surprised but I think BBB needs to investigate their book of business and how they handle their financial obligations,contracts, and mergers. Several people have sued them as well for breach of contract with their "gold package" channels. This company is the epitome of deception. I highly advise everyone to not sign any contracts with them. read more

Look out for hidden fees!!! Just signed up for Wavevision's Internet 20. Awesome speed especially since dumping Clear. The Internet 20 is $47.95 which is what I was paying Clear, so I thought it was good purchase, but after I received my first bill I am shocked by the fees. This is right from my bill. City & State Tax....$3.48 Digital Processing Fee...$3.25 Fiber Network Access Fee...$5.10 Franchise Fees...$2.40 Satellite Info Access Fee...$3.36 Transit Authority Tax...$0.48 Transmission Fee...$4.18 Urban Support Fee...$0.66 $18.95 in fees!! Wavevision is joke; or more accurately a nightmare. They raised the rate three times in the last eight months. I went from $142 to $192 for exactly the same service. I have to give it a least 1 star (otherwise it would be zero). Refunds are not a part of Wavevision vocabulary. I returned all my equipment in February 2011. I asked the lady who took my equipment about the refund (I would have filled out any form) and she said they would do a final bill and send out the refund. After a month I called and it was held up in refunds. I actually got a number for the refund department and never got a response. I even mailed a request. I finally contacted the City of Houston since cable companies are not regulated by the FCC but the city. They could not contact the company and I still don't have my refund. Do NOT move to a complex with Wavevision and give them a deposit. You will never get the money back. I am out $200 and in today's economy every cent counts. read more

I wish I could rate Wavevision lower than one star because I would. Unfortunately, it's the only cable/internet service my complex offers unless you want dish or direct TV and unfortunately again, the way my apartment is position I can't get either. With Wavevision, we loose stations consistently, the rates are astronomicly high, customer service stinks, when you call you're on hold for as much as 40 minutes. Wavevision is the worst cable company I have ever had. Their cable connection is so bad I can not receive one of the preminum channels with clear sound and they can not figure out why. They are over priced for what they offer and the cable goes out often and has lag time with the signal. watching television is like watching a poor japanese movie where the lips do not sync with the voice. Their customer service is just as poor as their cable set up. The FCC needs to shut them down and they have an inferior product and even less adequate staff. TVMax/Wavevision = Thieves and crooks. I am forced to use Wavevision as my cable provider (Dish Network is the only other choice, but wont work for me due to the location of my apartment). I pay $40.00 to my complex for the silver package. I upgraded to the gold package but decided to cancel. Now I don't even get half the basic channels that are a part of the Bronze package. When I called after being put on hold 20 minutes I was told I never cancelled service and I owed them for the 2 months after I cancelled. Meanwhile they are still taking my money for the silver package with out providing the service. I feel forcing a exclusivity contract on an apartment complex is criminal by both Wavevision and Richdale Apartment Communities. I went to Wave Vision's website to see what they had for Internet access costs. The show that you can get internet access for up to 10mbps for $10 with bundle. Go ahead check it out it is on line, on the website http://www.wavevision.com/ as of 06/25/2013. I called in to a customer service rep and said sign me up! the customer service rep's response was that promotion is not available. I responded to her that I had the web page up in front of me and that is what it says; up to 10mbps - $10 with bundle. She responded that that the promotion was only available to new customers . My response was that I was looking at the promotion on line at the time we were having the conversation and there is no comments indicating that the promotion is for new customers. She then informed me of a promotion that they were running that was not on the internet and that I could have half off of the monthly cost of $57.04 or $28.52 per month and get up to 10 mbps. She then followed up with I would have to get a modem at $6.06 per month and that only had one connection, so if I had more than one computer I would have to buy a router to service them. I thanked her for the generous offer and responded that the promotion on the website was what I was interested in and I was feeling this was a huge bait and switch. You know make an offer that was so good everyone would call in and then tell them it's unavailable but we have ... She said that she was unable to help me and I would have to talk to a supervisor. I said transfer me to a supervisor to which she responded, there are no supervisors on duty after 5 pm. I would have to call back between the hours of 9 and 5. Great hours for a supervisor. The call center is unsupervised from 5 pm to 8pm when most of the working folk call. This is a huge bait and switch scheme and I am very upset about them wasting my time. read more

Be cautious. May tell you a discount but not to honor it later. Will not refund any over-payment. Wavevision offers 1/2 price promotion for a period of 12 months. For the 13th month, it will restore the full price. If you do not pay close attention to it, you will end up with a higher balance. Last month, I saw the price went up and call them. I was told to pay the full balance first, then in October, they will give me the 1/2 promotion and I can skip the payment for October. However, I received a statement with full price on it for both October and November. I went to their office (Houston, TX) and was told that they would not honor the "promotion" price. I said that I would cancel the service at the end of this month. They also declined to refund any of my over-payment that occurred in September. (I paid full for October but a 1/2 price was also sent to them from my bank as I set up an automatic recurring payment.) read more

I give these people a 1 star because they do know how to do one thing.. take your money then play dumb. I can't give them a two star for finally complying with Federal Law and offering CableCard (even though I had to see someone else with one before they would acknowledge they had them) because they don't even do that right. Don't get me wrong, some of the channels they offer in HD over the card is beautiful depending on the program, but almost always you get pixelation. And the customer service tried to talk me in to believing everyone has pixelation and when that didn't work they tried to convince me it was my TiVo, then tried to convince me it was my TV. I am sure they would have gotten to blaming President Obama and BP Oil if I let it go on further. Their channel quality sucked before the transition and only sucks a fraction less after. Their customer service (?) doesn't have the same message and my bill is never correct. If you don't have written material about what they should be charging you, I have been getting the impression they make up a number that sounds right. They charge you for service calls whether they fix anything or not. And if their signal is bad (it mostly is) they blame your equipment until you show them their label is on it and they have been CHARGING for it. The old "will be there between 9 and 6" phrase means exactly that. The service techs can't say they will be there any time because they honestly don't know, but I can almost guarantee it is 5 minutes after you give up on them showing up. I believe the supervisors HATE speaking to customers because there is nothing they will do and they don't like hearing the complaints. But if the supervisors are bad about speaking with you then the first person you get on the phone (after your prerequisite wait time) is never polite. It is like they were waiting on hold or they are mad you actually waited that long through their godawful wait audio to speak to them. Like you jumped the first hurdle and they didn't want to see you that far. The time or two I did order pay-per-view (yes over the phone) they were just as rude and mad that you were giving them extra money. Only one lady I encountered in this company and she was in the office seem to know what she was doing and had any and certainly good customer service skills. I almost wanted to help her look for another job but she said she was happy despite dealing with customers who were never going to be satisfied. She deserves a raise. I will given them credit in that they have more non-English channels than I have ever seen from around the world, but guess what: I don't speak the majority of those languages. And on top of that the picture quality on those channels are piss poor too. Every manager at my apartments that comes through says the owner picked them and are sticking with them. So I am stuck. But if you ever had a choice this would not be the last one; I would not even consider this company in the decision. read more

Can I rate Wavevision with zero stars instead? They're absolutely the worst internet provider I've ever worked with. For starters, you have to pay over the phone or via mail...and usually you have to pay your bill late because you have to call five days in a row to get someone to answer the phone. They don't have online payment available. This is 2013, right? In the last six months, they've upped our rate three times (never once notifying us of the rate change)... most likely because they're being fined 2.5 million dollars by the FCC for stealing content (channels), but still charging their customers for the channels. Our internet works about half of the time, and we have to reset our model regularly, because if the internet goes out and you call the service line they say, "reset your modem" or "wait a bit and it will start working again". Unfortunately, at this time, Wavevision is the only provider that services my complex but the moment I have another choice, I'm done with Wavevision. Do yourself a favor and just use the internet on your phone - don't mess with paying these thiefs for "internet". read more

This is possibly the worst company ever allowed to publicly operate or even exist outside of a fictitious example in a college lecture. I would compare it to what I would assume getting a makeshift internet connection from a random crackhead would be like. When your internet is down--and it's down often--you call and are relegated to voicemail. Voicemail! You know? It's that antiquated messages service that you'd use if you were calling your grandma in 1997 when she happened to be busy playing bingo; before the internet was common fare. I would understand an individual or "mom and pop" store using this but this is an ISP who supposedly caters to entire communities, most of which were swindled into unfulfilled contracts. So then you decide after not having service for nearly a week to visit the area offices only to find that they are closed on business days; like a pretend business. To summarize we had to harass them to even get the service working in the first place. After which the service only ever goes half of what we pay for and that's the least of a litany of other issues. Sometimes it's out for days. It's hell to get a tech out. They don't even provide a means to pay your bill online in 2015. We've been without service this time for a week and there is no means of even contacting them. Their phone goes to voicemail and they're closed every time I go to their offices. Their website is showing the default GoDaddy page. Yes, GoDaddy, the ghetto of website hosting services. Meanwhile, they are not transparent about issues they are having either, the customer is simply left in the dark whether it inconveniences them or not. Why don't I go with another provider you ask? I can't. I have to choose between either moving or tolerating this disaster of a company. So far I've chosen the former not to inconvenience my children but I'm quickly coming to change my mind. I loathe this company to the point that I hope that they go out of business so that nobody else has to deal with them nor their unethical business practices. TVMAX is quite possibly the worst and most despicable cable and internet provider that I have ever witnessed. I had to wait 3 WEEKS just to get them to come to my apartment and hook my cable and internet up. apparently they came to my apartment at 830 am on my hookup date,,and i didn't hear them knock on my door. guess what,,,another 2 weeks before they can come back!!!! during these 5 weeks,, i called repeatedly to talk with a supervisor,,and was always told that the supervisor wasn't available, and that they would call me back. Of course I never got a call back!! And the one time i did get a call back from a supervisor, he left a message on my voice mail,, telling me there was nothing he could do, and that i would have to wait to get my service turned on. It took them 5 WEEKS to just hook my cable up. horrific at best. 4 days after my service was hooked up,,my internet stopped working,,and i called the tech support to have it fixed. it was fixed and 2 days later ,,my internet stopped AGAIN. and this time they couldn't fix it from the tech support. i had to call back,,and make an appointment in order to get a service call from a technician. keep in mind,,i had to call,,,they didn't call me, and this is after i waited 5 WEEKS to get my service turned on!!!! my appointment was made,,and i had to wait 1 week in order to get my internet turned on. Along the way to this,,every time i called and was given negative service from every single person i talked to. i finally decided to go with AT@T reluctantly,,and now have their internet, sattelite tv,,and telephone service. i pay more now,,,but i don't have to deal with TVMAX ever again. I don't know how TVMAX is still in business,,but its illegal what they are doing,,,and someone in the government needs to put a stop to their monopoly on certain apartments and communities. becasue if the place you live at has a contract with TVMAX,,you are destined to get the most low rate,,and worst service ever!!!! ITS ILLEGAL AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS. i think they must be paying to have their service as a monopoly and i hope someone puts an end to it. this is 2010,,not 1985,,,,and we have to put businesses like this,,out of business. I live in an apartment complex that forces me to use wavevision. If I could choose otherwise, I would definitely be using a different provider. My internet has been out for 2 weeks now. I am currently at a Starbucks writing this review because I still don't have internet. I had to wait a about 4 days to get someone out to look at my modem and all the guy did was change the power cord. The next day, it stopped working again!! I tried calling wavevision but they NEVER answer, and if they do you are transferred to a bunch of other people. It's like going in a circle. I was so frustrated! Well they can't send someone out until another 5 days....so I'm on my way to 3 weeks without internet. This is just the internet service!!! Let's talk about the TV cable now. The TV is annoying because wavevision likes to advertise their commercials at a volume so loud that you could probably hear it outside or through the walls. So you're having to watch a tv show at a decent volume then get startled at all the commercials because it gets turned up so loud everytime! I know it sounds petty, but if you have to deal with this EVERYDAY, you would get irritated. The cost of wavevision keeps going up....so at the price that we're having to pay for wavevision, we might as well be going with comcast or ATT which we gladly would if we could. I called to have service set up and the person was to come out between 9-5 on 6-7-13 and give a call 30 min before they come. 4:45 rolls around & still no call so I call them only to find out that someone called me earlier in the day to let me know they didn't have anymore TiVo's did I want a standard box. 1. I never revived any phone call like the woman claims 2. If I did get a phone call how come there was no voicemail left?? (Guess they don't want business). 3. Why before my order was placed & service date set up didn't the person check to make sure they even had the equipment in stock?! I requested to speak to a supervisor to which I was told there wasn't one available due to it was after 5 o'clock. I have been calling them almost twice a week; have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau; and despite promises the my "check is in the mail" I have received nothing to date. Wavevision decides to go up on prices 100% in one month the bill moved from 54.00 a month to 108.00 for just internet. Never seen a company go up that much on their prices. Their Internet service goes out usually at least once per week. The girl at the front counter was flat out rude. All I have to say is I will be leaving them never to return. The only thing that I can take from their business is that they're trying to drive all there customers off to go out of business. Be aware and stay away from this company. read more

My experience with WaveVision (Formerly T.V. Max) was somewhat satisfied. I had them for about 6 or 7 months. The only problems i have with these guys is that they have constant outages, but on the flip side, they address the matter immidiately. You don;'t even have to call because they already know about it. I paid for 20mbs and at first they delivered. How do i know? I used speedtest and they are quite accurate. But after about 2 months the speed slowly dimmed down toa mere 2 MBS. luckily since I am moving i will no longer need their services. The other thing is that they do not have a 7 day operations and for whatever reason, they say that their Hours of Operations are M-F starting at 9 AM. I call at 9:30AM and i still get the out of office hours message. Really? read more

I live in an apartment complex that has a contract with them, so I've been stuck with them for several months now. I've had issues with both my tv service and most recently my internet service. Let me start by saying when the service is working, it seems to be great service. Clear connection for tv, and internet speed is fine. My issue is with the company's customer service. I understand that tv/internet issues happen sometimes - that's not my primary reason for disliking this company. What I dislike is how they handle these issues. They are very unprofessional and the customer service is probably the worst I have ever experienced. Regardless of when you call in, you always wait on hold for 8-10 minutes - never fails. I've had to call in at least 7-8 times since I've had the service, and this has always been the case. Once you get a service person on the phone, they seem like they don't have a good grasp of the company's services. They seem confused when it comes to fixing issues, which means my customer service calls last much longer than they should... I most recently had an issue with my internet service. It wasn't working, so I called the customer service folks. They told me there were some issues in my "area" and that they were being worked on. Fair enough. I asked if they had an idea of when it would be fixed, and she said they had no clue. The next day, it still wasn't fixed, so I called back. After my lengthy hold, I was informed that it should've been working by now. Then she walked me through the basics - unplug the modem, plug it back in. Unplug the ethernet cable, plug it back in. Unplug the cable, plug it back in. It started working, so I thought I was good to go. Then a few hours later, it went out again. I called back, and after my lengthy hold, they walked me through the same steps. Nothing worked. I was then told that I needed to be transferred to their "high speed internet specialist". After transferring me, I had to walk the new person on the phone through all of my issues. She said she pulled my account up and it looked like there was some "noise in the line". She said she'd send a technician out to fix it. This was at 4:45pm. I asked if he/she could come the next day, and she didn't know. She said her department doesn't handle scheduling technician calls and that someone from the customer service team would reach out to me within the next 24 hours to schedule an appointment. I asked if it would be better for me to speak from someone in that department on that day to schedule an appointment versus waiting for the 24 hours, which would most likely mean they wouldn't call me until the following day since it was already 4:45 and they close at 5:00. She said sure and transferred me to the appropriate person. At this point I checked my phone log and saw that I had been on the phone with this company for over 35 minutes. After my transfer, I realized that I was transferred right back to the very beginning stage - as if I had just called back into the company's customer service line. After my lengthy hold, the new person that answered wanted me to walk them through all my issues again. I explained that I'd already done that and that I was transferred to make an appointment. It's frustrating to know that these groups do not communicate with each other. Every time you get transferred, you start from scratch. All technician appointments were full for the following day, so I was told I could schedule an appointment 2 days away. I said ok and asked for a morning appointment. Well, they don't do "morning" appointments. They do "day" appointments, so I was told the technician would come anytime between 9:00am and 7:00pm, and that I would receive a phone call 30-minutes before he/she is expected to arrive. I work full-time, so I can't run out of the office on a 30-minute notice. I informed them of this and said I really needed to do a before lunch or after lunch scheduling, but she told me that she couldn't do anything. They only do all-day appointment. It was at this point that I asked to speak to a manager (I had been on the phone for over 45 minutes, had spoken to 3 different people, and started from scratch each time). I was told that the manager wasn't available. I asked when the manager would be available and was told to call back the next day. I then asked to have the manager call me back. However, she didn't like this. She started getting real short and also started panting on the phone (it was actually kind of funny to hear her do this, regardless of how unprofessional it was). She finally agreed to have the manager call me the following day. If you are curious, I never received a phone call from the manager. Overall, I am very unhappy with this company and hope to never be forced to do business with them again. read more

I am FORCED to use them. My complex is great,but they have a contract with the devil ..ahem (Wave vision, same difference). You can not get any other cable. Wavevison has raised their prices so high, that when my lease is up, I'm leaving this complex. That's how expensive they are. I tried to get DIsh, but there no line of sight. And just like dish, when it rains, the signal is lost,Unlike Dish, the guide says "Fraiser" and it's really a horror movie. We are flooded with channels that absolutely no one needs or watches. The good channels, ex National Geographic Wild and AMC have been showing solid color stripes for the last month. If you are living in a complex that forces this company, go ahead and tack an extra 80.00 to your rent cost, becuase that's the difference between living there or living in s complex that allows you to choose your cable. read more

My internet never works. It goes out at least once a day. Sometimes all day. Any effort to call them so that they can solve the problem is futile. You are always on hold for at least ten minutes, and then they never do anything to help. Ever. I've called like 5 times and its useless. AWEFUL! Do Not Use! Here in MD we had Bay Broadband bought out by wave vision, and is managed locally. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Internet works about 1/2 the time. Constantly down for no reason. Never call you back (not even once). No one answers their phone. Not even the sales dept. Address is phoney too, thought I'd go and give them a piece of my mind. At least when they were Bay Broadband someone would call you call you back, and the connection was at least ok. Wave Vision in Houston doesn't give a crap about us up here, they just give you the same phone # that no one answers, and "this is the houston office, you need to call your local provider" line of bull. I've had Wavevision for about 11 months now and personally, I dont see what the big deal is. They have always been helpful when I've had a problem, and when I had an outage, they sent someone the next day. Personally, I prefer these guys over Xfinity any day. read more

internet service only pros: none cons:bad customer service, unknown fees, price goes up without notice, high lag, much slower than they claim I've had them for 3 years due to a contract at my apartment that doesn't allow me to go elsewhere for my internet. I've had long outages(think months) where they refused to even admit I wasn't getting service and send anyone out. I get pings in the 200s. I get a download speed of 1mbs(speedtest.net 7 days 3 polls a day) when I'm paying for 10mbs. The worst part is my rate for 10mbs internet was $55 a month. Every month they tack on an extra $10 or so in "fees" when I call them to ask about what these fees are they told me "taxes." I am currently paying $118 a month for the worst internet I've ever seen. Don't move anywhere that carries their "service." I'm moving from an apartment which I otherwise love just to get away from this the worst ISP ever. We signed up for 10 Mbps and ts been six whole weeks and the internet speed is not even close to 3 Mbps. Most of the time the speed would be less than 1 mbps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Horrible cable service. Horrible website. Customer service is friendly, but useless. They should spend less money on customer service and more on actual service. This won't happen, though, because they get apartment complexes to sign on and give the renters no choice. If I could give this company a negative I would. If you have any choice at all do not use this company. The internet is constantly down, the prices are beyond what they offer and the people in the office are rude, when they bother to answer the phone. I am coming on a year now and they just upped my price by 60 dollars. Not only that but for my convenience they changed my due date and when I went to pay it I was considered late because of this. I plan to go to the office to meet with them to discuss all the extra fees I seem to have on there all the sudden. I wish i could give negative stars as well but can't. Wavevision is totally terrible. Service is constantly going out on both internet and cable. I have to watch animal planet through the guide because it pauses and skips and you miss parts, when I called about the animal planet situation they told me if I wanted to have animal planet without the pauses and skips that I had to upgrade my package! And when you call to see why or need help for any reason you left on hold for eternity ( i have held for an hour before then I said fuck it and hung up). On top of that I received a letter in the mail saying prices were going up when i called to ask to see what my new monthly was going to be they told me $128.00... lmao seriously from 69.00 a month to 128.00? They fucking doubled my bill. And all I have is the pathetic excuse of the bronze package and the cheapest internet. So I have to go on to say that this is the most shittiest cable company out there. I am moving closer to the end of the year to a new apartment complex and I assure you wavevision will not be following me, even if I have to get a satellite (at least I would get a hell of alot better channel lineup). read more

Ok I have seen enough. I was forced to use TVMAXX at Towne Plaza and suffered through it for about 5 months until I cancelled the service. It was awful. Now I just got approved with another complex and just found out that they only have wavevision, I am going to let them know that I am not signing the lease. I am going to move my stuff into a POD and sublet someone's apartment, they just purchased a house. I need to save enough to get into a "lease with option" situation because I can't take these greedy apartments any longer. They make enough money from rents but they are so greedy now that they force tenants to take service from inferior suppliers without worrying about their tenants happiness. Screw them. By the way, I am going to complain to the FCC and seriously thinking about setting up a petition for people to sign so that we can forward to our representatives and the FCC. Being forced to use wavevision is like being put back into the dark ages. Also has everyone noticed that these shystie complexes tend to wait until after you sign the lease to tell you about restricting your ISP/Cable operator. Crooks. read more
