This was my first time at Capital Nails. It can be difficult to find a good salon but I definitely was pleased with my service here. The staff were all friendly and were not in anyway pushy with upselling. The salon is cute and clean. They offer a number of services. I had a massage and a full set of acrylics applied. An important feature of any salon for me is how clean they keep their nail tools and I am pleased to say that they have very sanitary environment. I already have my next visit scheduled. read more

I was just a walk in to get a manicure only because my nails are so brittle I didn't think I was able to get a set. The staff was incredibly friendly and understood my situation, assured that I can indeed get a set. I just had a set put on from Lowell Nail Salon 3 weeks ago and every one fell off. In my 20 years of nails getting serviced from Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio , never had this happen. However, the staff, incredibly friendly, not pushy, spoke well English and listened to your needs, extremely personable. Not fake but real . Next to service, again incredible, not painful, no blood, no hurry but really took the time you needed. I explained what I wanted and they explained what I needed. I needed a real manicure before they got started. I agreed because again my nails were in awful shape mostly skin showing. I got clean up and then the process of getting new nails. I can't explain the quality and professionalism I got at a place I thought would be another Trial n Error. Extremely satisfied with the work they did . Finally, I also want to be in a clean environment. Yes- and Yes , Extremely clean and open environment. Was the place a 10 star with modern decor? No but I would never judge a book by its cover. I moved back to Michigan and been at the 10 star looking modern places and the highly recommended places from Indiana, Ohio, and now Michigan. I will say this is the best manicure and nicest I've ever got . The shape, not clumps underneath, no extra on the sides, just a Perfect Manicure. So please extremely clean and open with accessories for sell all around the store. Again with no disappointments. I'm serious. While I was having my nails done I noticed several services, I needed my brows waxed. Omg I asked and again they delivered. Just amazing. Went here for the first time, got a supreme pedicure, which includes stones and wax. Stones were too hot and the wax was also too hot, I did tell her as I'm sure she saw the red Mark she left on my feet. Also with uv lamp, once she put it in top it kept touching fresh gel Polish, which left it patchy on top. I hate giving negative reviews but if someone is going to pay 50 dollars for pedicure, make it worth what you pay for, I expected better. read more

No better nail salon in the area..... I'm mean probably the whole dang state to be honest! Thao is my favorite nail artist at capital nails! She exceeds my expectations every time I go in with her brilliant creativity and hard work!! Not only are the nails I get super cute and detailed they WONT BREAK no matter how long I get them and I worked outside all summer! I was appalled so I had to write this review on why this nail salon is THE BEST! Thao also waxes my eyebrows and of course does and amazing job there's really not much Thao can't do! I will never go to another nail salon the quality would never compare I highly recommend to book an appointment with Thao! read more

It's usually a hit or miss for me. If Thao does my nails, they're done right and in a short amount of time. The prices are great but if someone else does my nails, it takes 1 hour and a half. When I visited another nail place, they told me my nails were getting ruined because of how thick my acrylics were. read more

The techs there were super sweet but I just wanted a simple fill for my acrylics, the tech ended up taking my entire set off and started a new one... I didn't expect it but just went with it. The process took over 2 hours! I was ready to fall asleep in the chair, the nails turned out okay but when I went to pay she did not tell me the price and I assumed it would've been about $50... I ended up paying $72! The nails aren't bad but I was Unser I was there for hours and it seems like the quality would've been a bit better for the price. read more

Like another review mentioned, don't let the outside fool you! It's attached to a gas station. But the staff are friendly, helpful, and professional! My daughters and I went there for a quiet Mom/Daughter time together. Didn't have an appointment but they got all 3 of us in the same time, and were pretty much done close to the same time. I went to get my nails done last minute. The owner was in another country visiting her family so another woman ended up doing my nails. I wish that I had kept the picture because somehow she did a full set of acrylic nails in about half an hour. The acrylic as all stuck underneath my nails and I was picking at them for a week to try and get it out which didn't really work. 3 of my nails were insanely crooked!! It was all over one of my fingers so that when I left I pulled a huge piece of acrylic off my finger. It was so bad and the polish was so transparent and strange so I went with another color as soon . 65 dollars and that was without a manicure. Found a new salon today that took those hideous nails off, made them all smooth and painted them so they are nice and shiny. read more

I really want to like this nail salon, but after 2 visits it isn't the place for me. The pedicure was good but the manicure was not. My Technician didn't speak English and never asked how I wanted my nails shaped and proceeded to destroy my nail shape. One nail had broken and instead of cutting it straight across (or asking how I wanted it done) she just shaped it that way. She used a very abrasive file across my nails that has left marks across each nail. Terrible filing job. The technician who applied the polish applied two coats with no drying time in between other than putting my hand in front of a fan. My manicure smudged accidentally on the fan and she was annoyed. By the time I drove back to my office I stopped for polish remover. In the natural daylight you could see thin areas all over my nails. I did like the nail artist however. read more

I went in for a pedicure, manicure and eyebrow wax. The receptionist had me pick color for my pedicure and she ran water for my pedicure. A few minutes later a lady came out and proceded to do my nails, she didn't talk to me at all. I tried to make small talk and she still didn't speak, it was very awkward. The other lady came back over and ask what color I wanted for a manicure I said I wanted an Americal style, she looked confused, so I tried to explain what an Americal style manicure was (I would have thought they knew) She didn't understand me and I couldn't really understand her, so I just skipped the manicure. Now back to the pedicure, she was really rough and yanked out a hang nail and it hurt pretty bad and throbbed for days. And really hurt in the salt water of the ocean. I didn't even ask them to do my brows because I was afraid they wouldn't understand what I wanted and do it wrong. They NEED someone there at all times that can speak English, I would say about 95% of the people in Lowell primarly speak English. They lost me for a customer. read more

I had my fingernails painted (gel) on a Thursday for my sisters wedding. By Sunday a few nails began chipping. One week after getting my nails done, I had to remove the polish from the majority of the nails due to chipping and cracking. I paid too much money for the gel polish to last less than one week! read more
