Great find -- and a rare case where a bank lobby out-coffees actual coffee shops. They pour Verve Coffee Roasters out of Santa Cruz, plus nitro flash brew on tap and a solid pastry case. As a Capital One cardholder you get a discount on handcrafted drinks, which makes it one of the better values around. The space is the real draw: bright, high-ceilinged, and huge, with plenty of seating plus two separate larger rooms if you need quiet or privacy for calls. Limited outdoor seating too. Friendly staff, clean, free Wi-Fi, and nobody rushing you out. Worth a stop whether you bank here or not. read more

Interesting concept for a bank and "third space." I like how they have ambassadors to teach financial literacy- that's super important to me and I would have loved to see more marketing around this service in this location of the CapitalOne Cafe. I visited with a friend and thought they had a perfectly decent selection of specialty drinks as well as the classics. My friend got an iced latte, which they accidentally made hot so they gave her the hot one and the iced one to take. I ordered an iced americano and they forgot about me for like ten minutes, then when I said something they seemed frazzled. Clearly something happening with the communication behind the counter. I thought the espresso was a bit acidic for my taste, I prefer a dark roast. But all in all, not an unpleasant experience. Oh, and I got 50% off for paying with my CapitalOne card, which is just silly because it was still $5 before tip, so they must just jack up the prices knowing many people will get 50% off. Whatever. I'm a huge fan of the Capital One Café! I have visited other locations in other big cities, and I've been waiting for one to open in the Triangle area for years. This particular location did not disappoint. This Southpoint mall location is clean with plenty of tables to work at. It even has a handful of private meeting rooms that you can reserve. The staff is always so friendly and kind, even on the busiest of days. On top of that, the drinks here are pretty good! They use verve roasters for the espresso, and as a bit of a self proclaimed matcha snob, I will say that I think the match here is solid. I have been a huge fan of their summer blueberry matcha. Each season they release a number of fun flavors, so I always look forward to what's coming next. The prices here are about average coffee shop, ex $6-8 drinks. However, if you are a Capital One or Discover card holder then you get a 50% off every day discount. During the summers they have been running a free drink with an MLB Monday QR wallet code. I will definitely continue to frequent this location for the good drinks and great vibes. read more

I've been coming to the Capital One Café pretty regularly lately, mostly because they're currently offering a free handcrafted drink every Monday. The café is conveniently located inside Southpoint Mall and has free Wi-Fi, plenty of seating, and a good number of outlets. If you're meeting up with friends or need a place to study with a group, you can even reserve one of their conference rooms. I've been getting the matcha latte every time I visit. It's not my favorite matcha in the area, but it's still pretty good--and it's hard to beat free. Even after the Monday promotion ends, I could still see myself coming back because it's such a comfortable place to work or hang out for a while! read more

Kind of an interesting concept: a cafe that also has an ATM, meeting/work space, and access to financial products. The first time we stopped in was in the evening and we just wanted to see what it was all about. We got two noncaffeinated drinks and paid half price with our Discover card (because Capital One owns Discover now). The second time I came on Monday morning with a QR code for a free drink (promotion with Major League baseball). That time I got the Moonshot summer drink which is like a cold drink inspired by coffee ice cream, plus a slice of orange poppyseed cake. That drink was really sweet but got better as the ice melted. Coffee is decent, they have bakery items in a case, and the space is modern and clean. We'll be back and will continue to use our Discover card. read more

Capital One Café is a great spot if you want good coffee and a comfortable place to get a little work done. If you're a Capital One member, the drinks are half price, which is great but remember to bring your capital one debit or credit card! The coffee itself I have had has a deep, rich taste, and the staff is very nice and welcoming. What makes this "capital one" is that they have a banking expert available seven days a week, so you can get real help without waiting in long lines although mostly they help you get online and do whatever banking you're going to do. Also there is an ATM outside in a safe, open area. They also have a few meeting rooms you can reserve, and members get two hours a month for free. In my opinon it's perfect for bringing business contacts without paying for a coworking space. I knocked down a star because it looks like only one room is a viable option for most people and it has always been booked by a single person every time I go in. I do miss the old California Pizza Kitchen that used to be in this spot but I'm glad the area has one of these cafés now especially since I've been a Capital One customer for many years. read more

Came here opening day, vibe and staff were great. Everyone seemed really happy and helpful. They had a DJ mixing music, Photo Booth for guests. They were handing out sample drinks and food for the guests which was awesome. There was a signup for a free drink however when I used it to order my two drinks both ended up being free. Both of our drinks were absolutely delicious. The gentleman who helped me said the other one was on the house! That was so cool! Avoid them on mondays - my second stop didn't go as well. I ended up waiting for more than 45 minutes for a coffee. First I didn't know they have free coffee event on Mondays, there were only five or so people in the line ahead of me, so I thought it should be quick. Then in 5-7 minutes I got to front of the line and ordered and I was told it might be 20-25 mins, but I have already waited here so I thought it doesn't make sense to go to another store which might have 10 minutes wait but process of going there might wash out. But I waited there for solid 25 minutes and asked the barista, they said my order might take 5-10 minutes more, 10 minutes passed, I asked and more wait. So this is terrible system - either once the wait reaches 20 minutes they should stop taking the orders or someone needs to check if the orders are getting processed in the same order. It for sure felt like my order fell to bottom of the queue and others got served first. Hopefully this feedback reaches a store manager that looks into this issue read more

Recently checked out the cafe and had a wonderful experience. I am a capital one cardholder and I received a voucher for a free beverage. This location is location near south point mall with plenty of parking. When you walk in, you're greeted by everyone and asked about any particular needs. I ordered the signature beverage, the honey lavender latte with oat milk. Their drinks are definitely on the higher end, this order rang to $8.60. They also offer other beverages and snacks. There's plenty of comfy indoor seating and outlets to support cozy report work. The environment is very loud so I wouldn't take meetings here or stay too long if you're easily distracted. The beverage of choice was good--a nice balance with the flavors. They are have small meeting rooms you can reserve for up to two hours. I would definitely take advantage of this if meeting in the area. Overall, great experience! read more

The first thing that struck me when visiting the Capital One Cafe was how as a customer the staff was very attentive, inviting, and happy to see you there. The cafe is very brightly lit and well decorated with a lot of natural wood and open seating. It can be a great place to work during the day and capital one customers can book a 2 hour block in one of their rooms. Both of the drinks were really good and balanced in terms of sweetness, smoothness, and tartness (for the cherry flavor). With the 50% discount on drinks you can get as a cardholder of capital one or discover I thought for the quality of the drink and the price it was a great deal and I'd love to go back to study/work and try more drinks in the future. The two drinks came out to be around $8.50 with the discount so around $4.25 each. You can expect the prices to be higher than other coffee shops in the area if you don't have a cardholders discount. But if you do, it's a great price for what they serve. read more
