They have a small lot and plentiful Brightleaf parking across the street (although you do have to pay for that lot, and they aren't able to validate since they aren't technically part of Brightleaf). I got an iced decaf americano with vanilla, which was delicious and came in a glass since they knew I was sticking around. They have a lot of seating and the whole place feels bright, airy, open and clean. They also have a cute store on the left hand side of the space that sells outdoor clothing, shoes and gear. It took me more than a year of coming here to write a review for Yonderlust, mostly because I'm surprised by how much this place grew on me. Yonderlust is more than just a coffee shop--it's one of those spaces where you can easily spend an entire afternoon without realizing how much time has passed. It's a fantastic study and work spot: a mix of table sizes, plenty of outlets, and a relatively quiet, calm environment that makes it easy to settle in. It has solid coffee: Drinks here are consistently pretty good. I usually go for their Campfire Latte (a signature for a reason) or whatever seasonal syrup they're featuring, and their matcha latte is reliable too. It has actual, warm food: simple but satisfying sandwiches with enough variety to make for a perfect study snack or light lunch. I am often disappointed when coffee shops only offer cold pastries. It has entertainment: I love taking a quick study break to browse the shop's outdoor gear and clothing; it honestly feels a little like being transported to the West Coast for a moment (give me some Oregan vibes!). Service has always been quick and friendly. I wouldn't say any single thing here is the best in Durham--but together, it is special! Very cute little cafe with great food/drinks and friendly service. Loved the vibe and music and decor. Nice small outdoor store attached. Husband had the breakfast burrito and a campfire latte, we split the pesto grilled cheese, and I had an iced matcha latte and the yogurt with house made granola. All were delicious! Bottom line: Pretty nice coffee shop cafe adjacent to/sharing space with an apparel shop. Crowded even on a Sunday. Clean inviting atmosphere, I enjoyed my hot skim latte here. The Deets: I had brunch with some friends that live in Durham and after the meal, they directed me to stop into Yonderlust for a coffee beverage stop instead of having one at the restaurant. We stopped by and ducked into the cafe side...I say cafe side as 2/3 of the space there is an outfitters/apparel shop and the other part houses the coffee shop/cafe. The cafe side (as well as the apparel shop) is very nicely done inside, very appealing and clean. The coffee seating area was packed, it appears to be a great place to stop and sit/work a spell even on a Sunday. Ordering moved through fairly quickly and I put in my request for a hot skim latte to the very nice and positive person at the register. The wait was not long before my beverage was completed, and your beverage/name are both called out to pick up when it's ready. I did manage to find one lone chair to sit and drink my tasty beverage while my friends did some shopping in the apparel side. I've passed by Yonderlust in Brightleaf District so many times, but finally decided to check it out & really glad I did! I feel like Durham has a pretty vibrant coffee shop/cafe scene, but Yonderlust is barely ever mentioned- however, it should be. I got the black sesame latte hot, which is seasonal. The latte definitely did taste more earthy and nutty so I think the black sesame came through, but it could stand to be stronger and a tiny bit sweeter. The ambiance is surprisingly nice and super spacious with lots of different seating (they're also an outdoor adventure equipment/apparel store). Service was friendly & fast. There's free 4-hour parking on W Pettigrew St or 2-hour parking in the Brightleaf lots. 7.5/10 would recommend! read more

Very cute little place! Great for a solo date, a study date, a date date, or just to chill. A great embodiment of #chillvibes. Definitely has a quieter chat feel on a Sunday, great spot to also get some work done. The menu looked great! I grabbed myself a hot matcha latte with whole milk and it has the right kind of earthy. No complaints, just great matcha :) Super random- but the soap they use for their bathroom also smells really nice haha. Greeted at the counter with a nice smile and staff seems very kind. Nice place to study, seats are comfy. I tried the campfire latte, which had some marshmallow in it but had more of a kick than sweetness to it. Pesto grilled cheese was not bad, thin and not much cheese but the pesto was good - a very light grilled cheese. The lemonade (seasonal) was very refreshing. Staff are really nice, and this place has very warm vibes. Would come back! read more

Yonderlust is a new outdoor store with a coffee shop attached! The space can fill up quickly but is a fun study spot. We ordered the Orange Vanilla Cold Brew and Campfire Latte. The Orange Vanilla Cold Brew was nice and citrusy, and was very reminiscent of a mocktail. The Campfire Latte was a fun and unique drink! We were a bit nervous about the kick of spice at first, but the cayenne was a welcomed surprise that added to the latte. Yonderlust is definitely one of the better coffee shops in Durham, and we'd love to try more of their unique seasonal offerings. read more
