Angie was amazing from the first time that we spoke to the post-trip email that she sent, confirming that we were all safely reunited. Given that our dog is very much our baby and that I deal with anxiety disorder, we had a ton of questions, and Angie always had the answers and clear instructions. She made things immeasurably easier for us, our vet, and our Westie, and her colleagues made sure that everything was smooth and easy at both Dulles and Heathrow. During pick-up and check-in, we saw people who were traveling without agents, and it was obvious that their travel was more challenging. While we always knew that using Capital Pet Movers was a good choice, the stark contrast between how prepared their team (and, as a result, we) were compared to the other families traveling at the same time was additional confirmation that the decision to work with them was one of the best we made. Finally, it's important to note how kind and thoughtful every member of their team was throughout the process. No question was too small or silly, and they were focused entirely on making sure that our Westie was safe and happy and that we were confident about everything that was happening. While my cats arrived safely, Capital Pet Movers' communication and follow-through were extremely disappointing. Their driver was unable or unwilling to place my cats into the kennels, so I used my own brand-new soft carriers. I was assured they would be returned. Their email communication was poor throughout, often taking days to reply. After more than two months, they suddenly claimed I owed shipping costs and an unexplained balance--fees never mentioned before. Now it's complete radio silence, and my carriers have still not been returned despite multiple follow-ups and even offering to accept replacements. Very slow communication, no accountability, and refusal to resolve a simple issue. I do not recommend this company. read more

We used Capital Pet Movers in May to help get our dog to France. Angie took care of everything and made sure I was updated at each part of the process. On the day of the flight, Mike comforted my very nervous dog and sent pictures so we would know all was well. Angie confirmed she was on the flight safely and that it had left. When it arrived, Angie checked in that morning and the company they coordinated with in France updated us and delivered her safely. I can't give enough praise to Capital Pet Movers (especially Angie!) for all they did to get my two senior dogs safely to Germany from the DC region. With the coronavirus taking over and borders closing I started to get nervous and asked to move the relocation up a week in case flights started getting canceled. Angie moved mountains to get my dogs on one of the last flights allowing animals over to Frankfurt. Their door-to-door service included a partner transport company in Frankfurt who got my dogs through customs and delivered them to our new home. All I had to worry about was getting myself and my son safely into the country to join our husband who was already living there. To not have to worry about my dogs' well-being reduced so much stress. It was touch and go, not knowing if their flight would be canceled at the last minute on account of the pandemic, but everything worked out because of Angie's ability to redirect and organize quickly. My experience with Capital Pet Movers was absolutely terrible. I work for the Department of State and needed help shipping my dog to Africa. I needed extra assistance because I was going to be out of the country all summer and would be unable to take care of any details myself. I reached out to them for help in July, and never heard back. I finally called and spoke with one of their representatives, who said he would work on it. Two weeks went by, nothing. I called back, no returned call. Finally I heard back from someone who told me they were waiting to hear back from a representative overseas. It felt like if I wasn't calling them and pushing them on it, nothing would have happened. There was zero follow up. They explained that moving animals to Africa was challenging, and if I could reach out to the Embassy to see knew anything about the process. So basically asking me to do their job for them. More time went by, heard nothing. Finally in August I called and complained to a manager, who was very apologetic and said he would personally take care of it. He finally provided some details on the requirements, some of which turned out to be incorrect and based on historical information (for example, he told me that one airline would not ship my dog. I took it upon myself to double check, and learned that the airline would be happy to ship my dog). They seemed to be working on my request, but then two and a half weeks went by, I sent four emails that never received a reply. By that point it was mid-August and I had to abandon the effort. Needless to say, I would never, ever trust my pet to this unresponsive and unprofessional company. read more
