Service at Capitaland was excellent. Rod was incredibly helpful and knowledgable and I was able to leave with a safe, reliable, AND beautiful vehicle I could afford. He was very patient and steered me in the right direction when an unforeseen hiccup occurred with transferring my insurance. This is the first time I've bought a car completely on my own, as well as the first time I have had a car with so many gadgets. Rod took the time to show me how to utilize some of the Bluetooth technology featured (I may or may not have used it to call everyone on my way home to brag about my sweet new car). He even helped me find my work parking sticker from my old car after it had already been discarded so I wouldn't have to buy a new one! I am totally in love with my Subaru! Thank you! read more

I left my car for repair work, along with my extended warranty information. They had the car for five days, never called me except on day one to tell me what was needed. No estimate given. I finally get my car back and go home, then realized they charged me for installation of parts (which I was not informed of and did not authorize) which are totally unrelated to the original repair issue (parts which would have been covered by my extended warranty if they had asked). I called the service manager about this and was given the run around, and then I was ignored for a month. Requested call backs, owner's name, etc., and was ignored every time. Then another manager calls me, after a month, and asks me for in-person meet. I go in, explained everything again, he tells me he'll call me back within a day. It's been ten days, no calls, no emails, nothing. No respect for their customer. Now I'm on the hook for someone else's (very expensive) mistake. No one there will accept responsibility for this. I am now a FORMER customer. Update: Now one month since I posted this review and I have still not heard back as promised from anyone from this company read more

I purchased a 2023 Subaru crosstrek from Capitaland Motors in October 2022 and cannot express how wonderful of an experience I had. They always and I stress ALWAYS make sure I am satisfied with their work and always following up in my vehicle and if I need anything. My review concerns service, not sales. I had a recall notice on my Subaru, so I called to set up an appointment to have it taken care of; I had also missed a service check, so I asked to have some items from that checkpoint completed. I was given a 9:15 Saturday appointment a couple of weeks after I called. I initially planned to stay with my car and was told the the wait would be about two and a half hours. My husband decided to pick me up, and I let the service desk know. My estimated time was not changed. Around 1:30, I still hadn't heard from them, so we called. They said it was busy and they weren't done with my car yet. About two hours after we checked in, they called me to tell me that I needed some major work done with brakes. I asked how much it would be and it was about $850. That's not a decision I am making without a second opinion as this was my first time at the dealership. Also, I was not happy with their communication or efficiency (clearly, they overbooked appointments) so I wasn't excited to give them more of my money. They close at 5pm on Saturdays. We still hadn't heard from them by 4:30. At this point, my whole day was spent waiting on going to get this car. My husband called and they said to come down around 4:45. We got there shortly after that time. It still wasn't done. I was clearly the last car they worked on. No one else was around, the staff was waiting on the tech to finish and for me to leave, and then they closed up and went home. My car was done a few minutes after 5pm. Reminder: I dropped it off at 9:15 and was told two and a half hours. This is absolutely bonkers to me. This is a dealership, and I expect a certain level of care and concern for the customer. You pay more at a dealership because they are specially trained on those makes, but other dealerships try to justify that extra cost with increased communication and care. Not this place. I didn't buy my car from here. I bought it from a dealership that is too far away for me to go to regularly, but I had my car serviced there a couple of times for routine maintenance, as this visit was, and it was a much better experience. More professional staff, much better communication, and a nicer waiting experience. If I had had a good experience here, I would have continued to stay on here for service as it's close. Absolutely not now. I did get my car checked at another auto shop and they agreed that the brakes needed to be done. However, the estimate was also $200 less than this estimate. Their communication was prompt, clear, and their work was done efficiently. That's the place that won my business. (I have been looking for an auto place where I felt comfortable since I moved and left behind a great shop.) read more

My dissatisfaction was in the Service Advisor, Daryl Cross. I encountered Daryl in a state of urgency when I was in transit from MT to VT when my Subaru broke down near Schenectady, NY. My Subaru was towed to Capitaland and I explained my urgency for car repairs due to my out of town situation. Daryl's response: "maybe tomorrow we can get it looked at", hearing this same response on the 2d and 3d day is unacceptable in the customer service industry. Daryl's added explanation on the 3d day was: "How fair is it to put you in front of people who have been waiting two weeks?" After hearing Daryl's added response on the third day, I had my car towed to a different Subaru dealership who serviced my car right away. stay away from Capitaland. read more

I am above pleased with the service and care I received at Capitaland Subaru and the service manager Bill M. I love my outback and a major issue occured, I was not sure what I was going to do but the service manager Bill worked with his dealership and was able to not only repair the problem but insured that I was happy, not only will I continue to take my car here for service but when the time comes my new subaru will be from them. 11 out of 10,,,thank you read more

I just had the worst service EVER. I had an appointment for a recall update at 9:30am. After watching 5 people come in after me and leave, the woman came out to say- at 10:45, that my car was being worked on and would be out soon. I looked and my car was in the parking lot where I left it. When I handed over my keys, I also asked for an inspection too. Then she said that only a few of their mechanics are qualified to do inspections and that's why so many people went ahead of me. The manager came out and said all of their mechanics can do inspections and that it was his fault. When I asked why so many people went ahead of me, he had no answer. I would only go there again if I had hours to waste and was in the mood to be lied to. read more

Terrible service department. Wrongfully installed a factory accessory. 1 1/2 hour plug in job turned into a 8 hour job. Acknowledge they didn't know what they were doing. Two days later acessory was not working along with additional electrical problems. Two days after that electrical engine lights turn on. This also lead for it to need a new injector that's in back order. They broke it and had for over a month and half. SUV is 2023 Yukon with 8,000 miles which we pay at car note on. We have not had solutions to our problem. I've asked to speak to a manager I get the run around. Everytime I've called this service department. It takes multiple transfers or myself to call back several times just to speak to someone. There is zero customer service at the service department. They don't know what they are doing and don't hold anyone accountable. I've had to make a claim with cooperate and still am waiting for 75,000 vehicle that I purchased from to be fixed. Joshua in sales has been the only person who has helped with this entire process. He at least got me vehicle loaner. It definitely is not the size of my new Yukon im paying for monthly while it sits at the dealership . But at least it drives. They finally told me my SUV was done and when I went to go pick it up. Took my 2018 Subaru there for warranty issue. Had 8:30 appt. Left car they didnt take it in until 3:30. When I went to pick it up i couldnt find it so i went back in for assistance and was told to use my key fob to find it. It was so far away i had to use panic button to find it. Parking lot was very icy and poorly lit where they had my car. There were plenty of spaces near the service dept. Went back in to express my displeasure no apology or explanation. read more

With a lease about to expire on a 2017 Forester, I had been to where I leased it a nd they didn't have one I liked on the lot so decided to try Capitaland. There I leased a 2020 Forester for less than the offer on a 2019 at the other dealer. Now to see if I'm as happy with the service and all departments as I was at the former dealership. read more

By far the worst sales department that I have experienced. We started here because it is the closest to us, but it turned out to be a waste of time. We were promised good prices for buying two Subarus at once, but once we talked numbers, our trade-ins were low-balled and not even a penny was taken off of the sticker prices. When we asked about other dealerships offering sale prices we were told that they would find a way to mark up the price. We gave the department three chances to come down on the price. When we went elsewhere for a better price, I was told that they ordered the car and was verbally berated. We saved $4000 on the price of two Subarus at another dealership. It was such a horrible experience that I wouldn't even visit their brand new service department. read more

Took my GMC truck in for warranty work and was told they couldnt duplicate the problem. Condition happened again on my way home. Looked up online a service bulletin for this exact problem by GM and fixed the problem myself in 15 min. read more

Be careful when leaving your car at this dealer. One of their employees used my car for personal business. One of my friends saw my car (distinctive license plates) at the convenience store and noticed someone else hop in my car after purchasing smokes and lottery tickets at a local convenience store. The repairs (inoperative sunroof mechanism) were performed, but no road test was required. People at the dealership would offer no reason for this. read more

The car salesman could not answers my questions about some of the features of the 2016 WRX because they just got them in. He didn't even bother to look up my questions. He also would not let a test drives before we have numbers on them. Who is going to spend time negotiating numbers on a car they are not 100% sure they want, that is more than $30,000? You can't even drive the car first? The car salesman stated he needed "to make sure I was serious", oh I was. I went to another dealer and drove one that day and bought a car. read more

I will give them a 4 star for now, just waiting to see how my oil changes and service goes with them. I ended up stopping in on a whim because I really loved the look of the Subaru Crosstrek and what everyone said about them. They handed me the keys to test drive right away (by myself, which was so nice)...and I instantly fell in love with the car. After dealing with a previous dealers BS on the car I currently owned, I was ready to get rid of it. We talked numbers and they adjusted a few things. I worked with David & Chris and they were very accommodating (especially towards military service members). There's also a pet cat who lives there...SOLD! I wanted to add a few things to my Subaru and they worked it out. I was thinking it would have taken a week or so to do, they said I could pick it up the next day if I wanted to and if I had to drop it back off, they would provide me a loaner car until the items were added to my new one. Everyone was professional. I will update my review once I receive my oil changes and state inspections. Love my new car. read more

We were offered a deal for a new Outback and the price was promised until 5PM. We left for a brief period of time to check out one more car and decided to go with Capitaland and purchase the Outback at the promised price. However upon our return at 4:30PM, Jim increased the price by $2,000. He could explain that they decided on $500.00 less for our trade-in but then he just stared at us when asked what accounted for the remaining $1,500 increase. A total waste of time.
