We stopped in about a week or so ago to look at a vehicle. We were assigned a sales person. Although the assigned person was very pleasant they gave us totally incorrect information about the vehicle warranty and also regarding some of the vehicle features. We did not realize the info we received was bad until we did our own research when we arrived back home. Prior to discovering the bad info we actually put a large deposit on the vehicle. Upon discovering the bad info we were going to call off the purchase but decided to go back to the dealership a few days later to speak to a Sales Manager. We made contact with a Sales Manager by the name of Walter. In short, he was honorable and outstanding! He listened to our issues and corrected the wrong feature info we were given and, more importantly, he agreed to honor the vehicle warranty that the original sales person had told us - as incentive for us to purchase the vehicle. He also assigned us a new Sales Representative by the name of Kia Smith. Kia was absolutely SUPER fantastic! She went over every feature detail, answered all of our related questions, and actually sat in the vehicle with us to demonstrate the features. Walter's high degree of integrity and Kia's truly outgoing personality and depth of knowledge saved the vehicle sale for the dealership. These two individuals are an absolute credit to their employer and we would not hesitate to purchase another vehicle from them in the future. The worst experience I have ever had was at this dealership. Extremely unqualified racist, "assistant manager" Named 'Wil' or 'will' who might actually be the toilet cleaner of the place, has no idea how an "assistant manager" should conduct himself and communicate with their customers. Instead of approaching people by introducing himself, he comes to you asking "what is your question" then goes to try and snatch papers from your hand when you try to communicate your frustration of an increased price that you never signed or agreed to. Every dealership I have visited will quote you one price with all fees and taxes included, this dealership does not. They will provide you with a quote without adding or mentioning taxes, and when you arrive they have this 80 year old 'tuff guy' who embarrasses himself trying to intimidate you. After having two bad experiences in one day at other car dealerships, on the drive home my wife looked at Northway's website and saw a pair of used cars that were exactly what we were looking for. She wisely called them to ask if they were actually on the lot and still available, but couldn't seem to get a straight answer. The person on the phone wanted to create an account for her and kept asking information about her name, phone number, etc. Finally, the man on the phone conceded and said that one of the cars was still there. So, the next day we came to look at the cars. We were assigned a young salesman who seemed very pleasant. He couldn't actually find either car were were asking about on the lot, but apparently thought we were looking for a new car. We showed him the website and disappeared to find them. Surprise surprise... one was already sold and the other was so new that it hadn't even been cleaned out. But, I liked what I saw and loved the color so we decided to get serious about it. We ran the numbers and I ended up buying it. I had to come back the next day to pick it up and turn in the plates (which caused a bit of a problem as I couldn't unbolt them from my car, which lead to them offering a trade value for my 2005 relic with nearly 200,000 miles)! That aside, the used car was everything I was looking for and I am really happy with it. I have purchased two Toyotas from here, one new in 2008 and one used just now. I hate car buying but thankfully don't have to do it often. I understand that the new car market is tough (I overheard one salesperson saying that if a new car were ordered it would take months to arrive), and the used car market is just as bad. But, if a dealership is going to show cars on their website they should update it daily to remove cars already sold. Beyond that, I am pleased with the experience here. read more

I'm in the process of finding a replacement auto. I use KBB as a guide to get, what I consider to be, reliable comparative information. Came across a 2018 Rav 4 at Northway. According to the info page, the interest rate is 11.5% which results in a 31% increase in the final price of the car. Their asking price is also $1200 above the KBB range for similar vehicles. I obviously won't be doing business with this dealer if they don't want to take selling cars seriously. I also read the reviews, which I take with a good sized pinch of salt, on yelp. When the 1 reviews outnumber the 5 reviews, that indicates a more serious underlying problem. To be clear, I did not talk to anyone or reach out for more info. This is strictly based on that very important first impression. And it was a complete fail. read more

We came in looking to test drive a RAV4. We had a price in mind, but wanted to discuss that. First of all it took a good 5 minutes to even find a salesperson, then Jamie said that there was no incentive for him to work with us unless taking down contact information. As we were leaving after waiting another 15 minutes for him to pull up a car, he very obviously talked about us to another employee. Absolutely awful experience. Brought our old Toyota Camry in for an overhead light (inside the cabin above the driver's seat) that wasn't working. The service folks physically cut the plastic to get behind the panel, leaving the entire panel irreparably damaged. Then they charged us $200 for their time, without repairing a thing (telling us it'd be an extra $1000 to replace the entire unit), without us realizing that they essentially vandalized our car. We only found out a few days later when the entire overhead panel fell out onto the divider between the driver and passenger seats. Didn't have time to complain to them because as luck would have it, we had a baby a few days later! So I'm leaving this review almost a year after the incident, because we're all still angry about it, but have been a tad busy with the new addition to our family. :) One star for the service team at Northway Toyota. I bought a RAV 4 hybrid from this dealership. The sales went fine. The vehicle was delivered even before the date promised. I was quite pleased. Then came service. I attempted to use their web site for my 5,000-mile checkup. It did not send me a code to log on. I called, got a message, left a message, no one called me back. I had to drive out to make an appointment. The appointment was scheduled for late (my choice) and I arrived early, as I was returning from a business trip and I finished early. They were kind enough to take me before my scheduled time. I had several questions I wanted to ask about the car, but when service was through, they had no time for them. Now comes 10,000 miles. I again went to the web site, again, no code was sent. I called. After being told that someone would answer the call, I listened to music for an hour and 45 minutes. I then went to their on-line assistant who told me that someone would get back to me. It has been two days, and no one has. I will have to drive out there again tonight. The sales experience was good, I am pleased with the work, but, in my experience, getting them to do it is impossible unless you go in person read more

Service is the biggest issue. They tell you an hour and it's at least 3. I've had 2 recalls, a sensor issue and came in for all the tire rotations and oil changes. It always takes around 3 hours (or more). I feel they don't respect people's time and aren't professional by not sticking to scheduled times. Sales is ok. They are obviously nice but they don't offer any incentives. Other dealerships will offer ski passes, maybe free key chains, or food while you wait. They offer nothing. read more

Although the service at the dealership is always excellent, I couldn't believe that I was charged for a new battery for the FOB of my 2021 Venza Toyota. I bought my new car almost eight months ago and the battery should have been good for years. But when I asked the guy behind the window at the time of payment, he stated that the battery could be worn out if I had used it a lot. It really didn't make any sense but because of his demeanor, he didn't appear to be willing to even discuss it in a friendly way, as it is normally my experience at this place. So, I just paid for the new battery and I was intimidated to even ask any more questions. Nonetheless, I did comment that it must be a new thing for batteries in a Toyota FOB to be worn out so fast as a sign of poor quality. Purchasing a new rav4 was quick and easy. They made buying a new car as enjoyable as it can be, besides offering some free food, which other dealers do and is a kind touch during all the waiting. But the service! Ruined the whole experience... went back for the 5k service and they said it's just a tire rotation and takes less than an hour. 1 hour and 18 minutes later found out they haven't even started. So this dealership has REALLY disappointed me. My boyfriend got a rav4 from this dealership in September and it's been absolute hell ever since. We've been to the dealership 4 times to fix MULTIPLE issues with the car (it is used,) and they keep giving us the runaround about if the repairs are covered under the warranty and the fact that he got the damn car in September and it's already having problems. We've fought them throughout this whole process that the repairs should be FREE especially after the complete incompetence of getting the car. He agreed to buy the car and they kept telling him to pick it up the next day. He went to the dealership like 4 days in a row and they didn't have it ready. I felt like he listened to me and didn't push me get more work done on my vechicle. I really enjoy sitting on the sales floor studying with my free coffee, wifi and power outlets. Kind of surprised to read the negative reviews here, as while I've only had to go in for minor services, I've been pretty wowed by the professionalism of this operation. Service calls are promptly picked up, they have offered a variety of options, and when you arrive you pull into a heated, spotless, cavernous repair bay and are promptly met by servicemen and then led to a representative and seated and the paperwork starting the process is promptly completed. Exceedingly comfortable waiting area. I've arrived early and they've responded immediately and I've gotten out far faster than I imagined. Cashing out is easy; leaving is easy; everyone is warm and polite. Perhaps this is the norm, but I went for a vehicle inspection and was astonished to have them top all the liquids and vacuum and wash the car; I only spent $21. Today, 2/16/23, we brought in a company fleet car for service which included changing 4 tires and disposing of the old tires. The service area REFUSED to take the old tires and gave no explanation. This is covered under the contract but Northway Toyota doesn't appear to care. My local mechanic puts rings around this lousy place. Of course we had to wait over two hours for this very basic service with an appointment. So, Manny why don't you honor the contract and pick up the old tires at my house? This is a review of the service department. I live in the city, but I had a horrible experience with my local Toyota service department (Previously Lees Toyota, now Hillside Toyota) when I was forced to wait in my car with an entire line of cars because (I guess) they had overbooked appointments and they lacked the room to take in new customers. For 50 minutes. All without ever being asked if there was anything that they could do for me (like leave my keys so that I could get to work on time, or being offered a glass of water). Not so here. Each time I've come here, I'm warmly greeted and led to the desk of a service representative. The representative explains very clearly everything that will happen, and anything that may be needed after your car is inspected. The waiting room is large, comfy and has large screen TV's should you wish to watch anything in particular. The bathroom is immaculate, and while you wait, they have donuts and other sweets, fresh fruit, popcorn and hot dogs, as well as an espresso machine and regular coffee, sodas and bottled water. Your car is returned to you washed and cleaned. Everyone here has been great, friendly and always smiling. I typically keep my cars until they hit the 100k mark, which means I have about two more years left until I retire my 2015 Prius V, but when his time comes, this is where I'll shop for his replacement. I was charged $707 for pump assembly (17600-0F010)...found our afterwards the average online price is $405. Valve assembly (25720-50020) charged $136.14...average online price $100....I needed two of those. Valve assembly (25710-50022) charged $276.52...average online price $178. I erroneously chose Northway to service my vehicle thinking that they would treat me fair and work efficiently to repair my vehicle. Boy was I wrong. read more
