This place for breakfast was pretty good. My wife and I popped in here on a Thursday, following me getting fired from my job the day before. I have lived here for 14 years and this was my first time. It is a restaurant inside a municipal golf club. It was a little cold and drafty with the doors to the practice green opening with the light traffic on a cold day. We split a skillet scramble. Customer service was shit. Manager treated us like shit. 2nd time golfing with friends and they rushed us. We weren't moving slow. They kept telling us that we were holding people up when we weren't we were getting held up by old farts. If I could give a 0 star I would don't go here. read more

First time golfing in a while with 2 female friends and 1 male stranger who joined our group. Although 2 of us are not the best golfers, we hustled through the course. At hole 8 we were confronted with our slow pace, despite no one being behind us that we could see. At hole 10 they suggested we request a refund for the last half because of our pace, again with no one in sight behind us. 2 of our golfers continued and had to wait for golfers in front of them. Previous reviews mention being targeted because you are female or are with a family, would have to agree and won't be back! read more

This course is terrible. The Marshall's seem to pick on women and families. Used to be a Marshall there named Terry (may still be there) who was so rude. Told us that we needed to pick up the play and that we aren't allowed to let the group behind us pass. Another time he zoomed over to tell us our kid can't drive the golf cart. We told him our child was not driving the cart and that we know the rules. He said he just wanted to come over make sure we knew. Very harassing environment. When my husband golfed with friends or alone, he was never approached by any Marshalls. After all our bad experiences my husband quit golfing this course and we never went back. They really should just put out a blanket statement that families and women are not welcome on this course. read more

What horrible experience. Our group of 3 (ladies) walking were confronted by Chris, on hole 14, said we were playing slow and that we needed to "pick it up or skip a hole". He was disrespectful and argumentative, indicating we were told by the Marshal were were slow previousoy, when we had not. The groups before and after us were all in carts. The group behind us never had to wait for us. We found out that Chris (who was playing a few groups back) is the pro shop manager who has an huge ego. He totally ruined my game. Walking the course should be four and a half hours and were exactly that. We were sent off 10 minutes later than our tee time, yet Chris said our tee time was 10 minutes before our booked time. So Chris was off his calculations by 20 minutes. All that said, Chris was totally off his time and totally unprofessional. The chemicals used on the course caused a huge rash on both ankles (I have photos). I would definitely rethink playing here again. Not a fan. read more

Boring, flat golf course that winds through a lower middle class housing development. I scored 71 from the white tees, approximately 6400 yards. People that play the course don't believe in repairing ball marks on the greens or filling divots with sand. The condition of the greens is poor, bumpy, dozens of old dead ball marks. A lot of old slow people playing the course, play is slow. Good golf course for beginners. read more

Capitol City Golf Course discriminates against women golfers. I play golf with several local ladies. We know when we play a municipal course there is often slow play. Most of the course marshals are wonderful and stop to chat when play is slow. More than once we have dropped off after 9 holes because the speed of play was slow, here is what we d0 not do...complain. Today we had a foursome that was scheduled to tee off at 9:53. There was a delay so we did not tee off until 10. As we made the turn we noted the group behind us was far enough back to enable us to use the bathroom(5minutes). On hole number 15, the golf club manager pulled up and told us we were holding up 250 golfers on the field. He said that since we teed off at 9:45 we should be on hole 18. We did not tee off at 9:45. This was at 1:30, 3.5 hours into the round. As we exited hole number 14 we noted that there was no one on the tee box? We finished the round in 4 hours and 16 minutes, please note we were walking not using power carts. This is not the first time Cap City staff has displayed hostility toward women golfers. The tee times are 7 minutes apart, not an industry standard. If you want to play golf I encourage you to find a course that respects all of its players, not just the men. I really enjoyed playing this course. The coolest thing about this course is that the course has golf boards. I really enjoyed playing the course. It was maintained. There were some spots that were rough. Most of the greens were pretty good. The thing that upset me about this course was the restaurant. I debated giving this review 3 or 2 stars because of the restaurant. The staff inside the pro shop was great, the staff on the course great, the restaurant staff was terrible. It took me a long time to get served. When I did get served, the waitress never came back to check on me. I had to hunt her down twice just to get my order correct. I can't put down the golf course because of the poor service at the restaurant. I will be back to play. Maybe I'll give the restaurant smother try because the food was good...the service just sucked. read more

If I could give this 0 stars I would. They moved my tee time back 30 mins but still charged me the full price and not the cheaper price since they moved me passed two o'clock. Someone kept saying we were going to slow and when need to hurry up when we were waiting on people in front of us and we were only taking 8 mins per hole to play when he said it needed to be 15 mins or less. Very rude customer service. Meadows golf course is a lot better I recommend that one!! read more

A decent track that would be on the fringe of great if it were in better shape. The fairways were really shaggy, so it make it difficult to put tons of spin on the ball which was needed because the greens were really hard and running a 10 on the meter. I like a challenge, but the combination of the long fairways and super hard greens was almost unfair. I felt cheated on more than a few shots. It's my understanding this course gets a ton of play, so it's a little more beat up then others, but I don't think that's an excuse. Get the fairways cut lower and water the greens, and this could be a regular spot for me because the prices are really good. read more

3.5 Stars. A relatively good muni course. Not the most challegning layout and very little elevation change, but the course is in good shape. Tee boxes are pretty bad, but fairways and greens are good. It is the driest course in South Puget Sound in the winter. Pace of play can slow to a crawl at times. Check beforehand for any events going on that day. Range is mats on weekdays and grass on weekends. Small but adequate practice area. Overall value for the price is good! read more

I played Capital City yesterday September 7th. I have to say the greens have to be the best in the South Sound if not the whole Puget Sound area. The fairways were probably a 7.5 out of 10 maybe an eight. There were a few bare dry spots. But that's to be expected with two months with no rain. The bunkers are very playable and consistent. However I spent way too much time in them yesterday.lol Excellent Pro Shop management staff and a great bar and grill for a drink afterwards. They had a large men's club group going off of about 12 foursomes so the Management started us on the back. When we were making the turn the same group that started on one was also making the turn to The Back Nine. When we finished on the front 9 that same group was finishing on 18. Playing time was 4 hours and 15 minutes. The only complaint I had was people who wouldn't rake their footprints in the bunkers! Other than that very satisfying day even though I didn't score that well. Looking forward to playing there again. read more
