The pros about meadow park, and the reason I gave it four stars, are the amenities and the price. They have a great driving range and the largest amount of practice putting greens of any course I've been to. The price to play is the cheapest that I've seen anywhere in the state of Washington. So between those two things meadow park is a great place to come and practice your game. The cons of meadow park is that, since it is a publicly operated course and the price is so low it gets very crowded. You will absolutely never be anywhere in meadow park and not be able to see another group, likely several. Since it has such high traffic the course is a little rough through so much hard use. All that being said, this is a great place to play if you want to come practice. I intend to return often to hit the par 3, the driving range, or work through 18 holes. I just won't choose meadow park if I'm trying to have a fun/ relaxing golf outing with friends. read more

Disclaimer: my golf experience is limited to mini-golf, those indoor virtual golf places, and one visit to Top Golf. But my partner and I signed up for nighttime Glo Golf and it did not disappoint. I was worried we were late for our tee time so I was relieved to hear that this was a leisurely event. We checked in and were provided glow-in-the dark golf balls and glow necklaces/bracelets, a map, and a quick rundown. There are hand warmers and other supplies for sale in the pro shop. You can bring your own golf clubs or they have some available to rent. It is ideal if you notify them ahead of time if you need to rent. We were encouraged to head to the bar to redeem our free drinks before starting, since the bar would be closed by the time, we finished our 9 holes. Foleys on the Green is casual and vibes are divey. We got our drinks, then went out to the tent to sign our waivers and get started. The staff were all kind, down to earth, and friendly. Everyone we met explained everything clearly and helped direct us to where we needed to go. Glo golf is fun! No real experience is needed. The golf ball is extremely easy to see in the dark. The only issue we encountered was that the lights from the driving range were sometimes pretty blinding. Keep in mind there are other guests ahead of you on the course and others behind you. We were following this group of people who were slower, and we had a skilled pair after us, so I felt that we were caught waiting, and the group after us were waiting doubly for them and then for us. As mentioned, they have a driving range. They also have a putting practice area. Would love to come again. read more

They saved our afternoon! ***This review is a "provisional ball" because we only used the pro shop, the driving range, and the putting greens.*** I tried to take my wife and little boy golfing at Whispering Firs (on McChord AFB) only to find out that kids under 5 are not allowed anywhere on the course (including the putting green and driving range. I googled "family friendly golf" and Meadow Park was the top result. The experience was great from the beginning. The guys at the pro shop were friendly and helpful. The course is well maintained and accessible. There are a ton of bays at the driving range and the putting greens are massive. The website is clear and helpful and the prices are not any more expensive than the JBLM courses. Most important, they are family friendly! Lots of people had their (well-behaved) kids at the course and nobody gave us the "side eye". We can't wait get my wife some lessons and to try out the restaurant. Went here with me and my dad for semester break, and we thought it would be a fun thing to do, and we were not disappointed. We payed about 15$ for a booth to golf out of, and about 15$ for balls. At first, we just tried to golf as far as possible, but then we started to play the games, such as angry birds. Really fun, not too expensive, and a great thing to do if you want to have a good time golfing. There's also a golf course, but we ran out of time, so we couldn't get to that. Junior golfers are warmly welcomed, and there are plenty of tee times available for Youth on Course members. Recently, my son accidentally dropped my credit card after paying for his tee time. Speaking from a customer service perspective, I keep trying to give this course the benefit of the doubt, but consistently get let down. The staff has no sense of customer service and are unfriendly. One evening my kids and I stayed up until 10 pm (when they close). As we wanted to enjoy our family time, we wanted to enjoy the time to it's end. As we began to exit, the entry gate was locked. No courtesy announcements were made leading up until closing time. In less than 10 seconds, two individuals drive up in a car out of the dark and don't even say anything...yeah, they planned that. They just stood there with a scowling look on their face...seriously? Very unprofessional, passive-aggressive, petty, and childish. Maybe, one could blame the poor customer service on fact that this is a municipal course, BUT, I've been to plenty of the surrounding municipal courses where the customer service is professional and the staff is friendly. But the review by Omer (below) says it all...how a community treat it's elderly speaks volumes. Hopefully, the focus on customer service and professionalism will become a priority over the next few years, but unfortunately doesn't seem likely. read more

My review is for the range, practice area, and professional staff only. This range is one of my favorite places in Tacoma. I came here for one reason only... Tony Robydek. I didn't know how to hit a golf ball til I got lessons here with Tony. Now I feel so comfortable at meadow park I use their facility multiple times a week to practice, and I use and pay for their range. They have covered, heated hitting areas with many stalls. I've never waited more than 5 mins for a stall to open. They have the largest putting green and chipping area around. But most importantly- they have Tony... who is one of the nicest, most reasonably priced pros in the area that you can get lessons from. He's the best, he cares, he teaches adults and kids, he's taught multiple pro's from the area. Also- bonus- foleys is a great place for a sandwich and an adult beverage as well. read more

Awesome course with an amazing staff! There's many times I play 9 holes before work, but sometimes I have time for 4-5 more holes (even though I really only ever play 3 max) and they always insist on letting me play with no extra charge, even though I offer. Greens are extremely well kept considering the high amount of traffic they get. I've become a regular here, but was blown away at how steadily challenging it gets as you get past the front 9. Really fun back 9, and gives you a chance to really play your full bag of clubs, and hone a vast variety of shots for your game. I much prefer it over Oakwood, which is ten minutes away. Oak wood is longer, but Meadow park is just more fun, hands down! Pricing is great too! It's really easy to find a decent price last minute online. The main course is awesome! They have a short par 3-4 course that's also fun if you're playing with little time or people who just don't play very often. Driving range is great as well. They have several bays that have tracking technology to really fine tune shots as well. Number 6 on my list of South Puget Sound courses I've played so far. (I've been playing 5 times a week since May of 2022. I know I'm a rookie, but improving quickly lol). I'm sure this list will change as my golf game evolves, but any how...Cheers read more

Absolutely the worst managed golf course in the state! People doing drugs on the fairways ... pro shop misses the tee time announcements . The pro shop is ran by teenagers who obviously have never been trained in customer service. This golf course needs new management or at least employees who care about the patronage of there business. My favorite course in Tacoma (not counting Chambers Bay obviously.) Some very fun holes to play including two over a huge ravine that seems to have a ball magnet in it. Course was in much better then average playing condition, with the greens a little on the firm side. With the greens this hard, I was glad I have the ability to stop the ball with my irons cause the pins are very accessible if you can stop the ball quickly. Greens fees are really affordable for a course in this kind of shape. Be sure to call ahead and ask about any twilight specials when booking your tee time. I'm not in the Tacoma area more than once or twice a year, and it's a shame, cause I'd like to get the chance to play more rounds here. read more

This has been my primary golf course since 1972. I have been a men's club member for many of those years. On Nov 28th my wallet was stolen and in that wallet was a punch card that still had 9 rounds of prepaid golf - that card cost me over $300. The card contains a unique number and has my name on it - plus the course registers all the info on a master file when you purchase it. Metro Parks and Meadow Park Golf Course refuse to make any accommodation for the stolen wallet and card - claiming that the punch card could still be used (please refer to description above). My only recourse is to discontinue all golf at Meadow Park - I will not join the Men's Club in 2021 and I warn everyone to never purchase one of their punch cards. Even though they could honor my 9 rounds of golf at no expense to them, they would rather keep the money and lose a customer of 48 years. Pretty short sighted in my estimation. read more

I found out after 1:00 they have twilight times as well. $29 after 4, I think $38 after 1:00. I still like to go after 4:00 because they let you play as much as you can till 9:00. I got my fist birdie since I started playing again. par 3. 135 yards 8 iron on the green and 5 ft putt. yeah me. in getting to like this place more and mire. QT: bring your own drinks from the store, like all courses way over priced. the food is ok but $3 for a small gataorade no way. Course is in good condition and a fun course to play. My issue is the pace. I've played here 4 times now and never finished a round. Last night we played the front nine and it took us 3 hours. Very poor management of groups. They stack tee times, and then everything piles up. Only didn't wait on 1 hole to tee off. Carts had to be back by 7 which is fine, just a frustrating place to play no matter the time. Wouldn't recommend it unless your the first group off the tee read more

This municipal course is a gem. For a muni, the course is well maintained. There are two courses. A championship 18 and a 9 hole course. The 18 is where the Tacoma Open is played and is a short, but challenging course that requires placement of the drives. This course requires you to be accurate more than long. Even if you are short, if you stay in the fairways, you will shoot low scores. If not, you will be spending a lot of time in the trees looking for your ball. The only complaint is the pace of play. Sometimes it can be pretty slow. They offer unlimited golf for a monthly fee. Well worth the money. The Williams 9 is a good course to work on your short game. They do have footgolf which can slow the pace of play. I take my 10 year-old son here regularly and it's perfect for him to hone his skills. read more

Williams 9 hole course is golf shared with foot golf (soccer) . my experience with this was organized confusion. It was an After school activity with no adult supervision . Some of our foursome quit and went home. I have not returned. But I'm sure it is a good source of revenue for the park district read more

I'm came out to Meadow Park Golf Course at 7am Sunday 9/26/21. It was just me and my friend very rudely I was told the main 18 hole Course was booked. So I said we would just play The 9 hole Course called the Williams 9. At this time there was no one I mean no one tee off. They told me I needed a tee time for the Williams 9, keep in mind the Williams 9 is a first come open course. I was once again rudely told that we had to make a tee time. I use to play Meadow years ago and stopped because they were rude. I will never play there again. Worst experience ever with the elder caucasian gentleman in the pro shop. We went there to have a great time playing footgolf, but as we were ready to start he came out to advise us we had to hurry multiple times. We thought it was very rude because footgolf wasn't cheap to begin with, and now this dude is here pressuring us to hurry for something we payed for. Imagine eating out and getting told to hurry up and eat. And to top things off, while we were playing he came out and yelled, "andale andale," meaning hurry up in spanish. As he knew we were Hispanic. He thought we didn't understand the English language. Never going there again and I advise any Hispanics to not go. read more

Meadow Park is a fantastic municipal course. There will be slowdowns on tee boxes during the summer because the course averages 250-350 people per day. That being said if you are expecting to play a fast round of golf at a public course during the summer in Washington you aren't going to find anywhere to play. The greens have been in great shape for the past two years on both the Championship and Williams 9 and the grounds crew is continuing to improve the course. I would play the Williams 9 over any par 3 course in the area. Plus, the fact that I can walk a round of twilight golf on the 18 hole course for under $20 is hard to beat-especially with how good of shape it is in. read more

Foot Golf. Meh. It was different. Maybe it would be a novelty for a child in soccer to get some kicking/aiming practice but be forewarned the holes are not well marked. Confusing layout and some of the holes force you to double back over the course so any group close behind will be in your path. I won't go again but it was something to do with my sisters & nephews. PLUS THERE IS AN EXTRA CHARGE ($2/person) TO RENT A SOCCER BALL ON TOP OF THE FEE TO PLAY! What? Did each of us bring our own soccer ball? 6000+ yards. Par 71. 18 hole course with an Executive 9. Played on a Wednesday after 1 o'clock and it was only $25 for 18, added a cart for another $12 bucks. Our electric cart did break down on hole 16 but called the clubhouse with the cell phone and they had a replacement out in less than 10 minutes, so no big deal. Course was overall in very good playing condition. A very fun play with bits of challenges. Lots of mature trees line most of the holes, so bring a couple extra balls. I had heard that there can be some mud there at times, but this was mid-summer so there was none. Greens were hard and ran very fast. Even though it was mid-week there were lots of groups. We didn't have a tee time and had to wait 30 minutes. A great local Metro Parks course with good value; will definetly play again. read more

I came out here last week with my wife (who is still finding her swing) and my two brothers (one a competent golfer and one who had never picked up a golf club) and played the Williams 9. It was a fun course with some challenges (holes 2 and 3 have some pretty steep elevation changes) and some "boring holes" (my brother's description of 6, 7, and 8). Ultimately, the course was easy enough for all in our party to have fun, but challenging enough that I ended up using almost every club in my bag. There are no sand traps or water hazards, so the challenge is almost entirely getting your club distances correct - a steep enough challenge for me. To give you a sense of the difficulty level, I played better then my usual and carded a 37 (i have one year's golfing experience and have played about 10 rounds plus a lot of driving range) and my golf-virgin brother carded a 57, so there is some variety, but not enough challenge so that your golf clubs will end up 60 feet up in the tree, snapped in half. This course could earn five stars by adding a couple of sand traps and lowering the cost (I treated and ended up paying 80 dollars for four rounds plus a bucket of balls and pull carts). The driving range is large and I like the yellow balls, but there's not much to set it apart from other ranges. The practice putting green, however, is giant and heavily sloped with a island in the middle, making for unique challenges and much better practice than most courses' flat, uninteresting practice greens. There may have been a chipping area or practice bunker somewhere, but I didn't see one. Before I moved to California, I lived less than half a mile from here. It's a good thing I had no interest in golf back then, or I may have gone bankrupt. read more
