The course is in great condition, and priced fairly. I've played 3 course so far since courses have opened during Covid. The conditions at the home course was by far the best. The fairways, greens, and rough were properly groomed. I highly recommend the home course because the course has the feel of a high end course w/ the prices closer to a municipal course. Well, I decided to play at the Home course today. I always show up to any course to try to get on an play since I am a single player and most courses don't like reserving teeth time for a single player. I showed up at the Home course and was told, they were pretty booked but suggested for me to get some practice and wait around for a cancelation. I decided to go to the driving range and get warmed up. I was able to get a tee time for 9:24am which was great. I mistakenly heard 9:42am. So, I went to the starter at 9:20am, and he asked me what was my yee time, and again, I said 9:42am. So 9:42am com3s around and I can see that 4 players tee off. The starter ask me "what is your tee time?" I reply, you ask me that about 20 minutes ago, 9:42am. He says, that cannot be, the 9:42 am group just tee off. Then he ask me for my full name, which I gave him. He couldn't find my name on the list. Then he radio the pro shop and they informed him that my tee time was at 9:24am. He then replies, I don't see his name on the 9:24am tee time and at that time, there was a group of 4. I told the starter, hey don't worry about it. It was my mistake, I honestly heard, 9:42am. So, I got back to the pro shop, and thank them for trying to get me out there to play. So, my question is, should I have been reimbursed for the round I did not play? It was not like I didn't show up. I just miss heard the tee time. Anyway, the whole interaction was weird. ​The reason why I gave a one star is because, I did not play the course. read more

Greens were terrible and bumpy.. understand aeration but at least tell me at the beginning of the round. Starter is ridiculous. If you don't want to be there quit... not that hard. Don't have to be rude and lie. Tells us group ahead of us is on the second hole " Try to catch up..." Group ahead of us literally didn't even hit their second shot. Why lie? Bunkers filled with water to the brim??? Understand it's winter but geez... If the Saints University golfers are going to practice, tell them act appropriately. My wife and I are driving to the next hole literally coming around a blind bend and the player acts like I'm interrupting his shot. Turns around and tries to eye us down and act tough. It's a Sunday round tell them get a grip. Third rate team trying to be tough on a Sunday. A college foursome takes 15 minutes on the green to align putts and finish... 13 holes took us 4 hours. No Marshall to say anything. I'll literally tell every person I know that golfs to not play this course because this type of behavior exists. read more

Course has amazing views and sets up well but value is lacking. It's one of the more expensive courses in the area but greens aren't reflective of that. Staff was friendly but did not help us when we were held up by a group of FIVE. We called the clubhouse to inform them there was a large group in front of us holding up play but they said there was nothing they would do since the sun was going down within the next hour. I was very impressed with the Home course. Despite the frigid temperatures, the course was in great shape for this time of the year. The layout is awesome!! This course is deep too. The dynamite tees play over 7400 yards! It's a beautiful golf course with plenty of scenery. Beautiful Mountain View's and wildlife all over. I saw deer on multiple holes. Great value! read more

I have a great time here. The guys at the club house that have come over in the past year are awesome. The starters here mean business, I've watched them chase around guys about pace, the course is usually in really great shape, and it's probably the best value in western Washington. I'm not the best golfer so it's great to have a course like this that is forgiving, yet challenging. After round food is good, it's very playable in a respectable amount of time, and it's beautiful out here. It's really a huge bonus to live in such close proximity to a course this great. It quickly becomes the favorite public course of anyone who plays it in this area. read more

My daughter was playing golf for a organization and Marshall was coming to us over 10 times for different reasons this happened even before game started never had a trouble with other golf courses before. I went and told the people inside the pro shop. They were about five people working in the pro shop and specially one or two of them told me that they will talk to Marshall. This review is for the Home Course as a wedding venue - The Home Course was everything we hoped it would be - beautiful location, wonderful club room, great food, and an amazing Food and Beverage Manager. Emily (Food and Beverage Manager) truly made the day perfect - she kept everything on schedule and was able to rearrange our cocktail hour and ceremony when we had a cake fiasco, and did so calmly. The Home Course was also very comparable to, if not less expensive than, other venues we'd looked at price wise. Ultimately, we're so glad we went with The Home Course and would highly recommend it to anyone else looking. read more

The Home Course links up 18-holes of fun, technical, and tough play. The course is situated just off the water in DuPont and some of the holes offer great views of the Sound and, I'm guessing on less-cloudy days than I played, views of the Olympics and Rainier as well. $64 gets you 18 holes on a Sunday in September, and with tax and a cart, it's up in the $80's per person. Add on a small bucket at the range and you're at $92. All in all not necessarily an inexpensive round of golf, but the quality of the course justifies it. This course is chock full of traps, difficulties and murderous breaks. The greens are hard, fast and deceptive. The bunkers seem to be as bottomless and inescapable as Sarlacc in the Great Pit of Carkoon. Not only are they steep, difficult bunkers, but they lurk unseen ready to pounce on the wary golfer. Plenty of long par 5 holes mix in well with some way-too-long (greater-than-200-yard) par 3's. My first round here was definitely enjoyable from both a technical and aesthetic aspect. Why not 5-stars? The facilities here lack. No clubhouse? A "pro-shop" in a portable? No spirits? (Beer only) Bathrooms in a portable? Basically the whole operation is run out of a set of trailers. And when I spend $60 or more on a round of golf it would be nice to end it with a cocktail in a clubhouse of some sort. Or even a cocktail... period. I can't say that the quality of the course alone doesn't justify the price, but really the complete package would be welcome. There seems to be a suitable building... maybe still under construction? This course has been open many years. Aside from the facilities glitch, this course is definitely a few steps above your average public course and I'd happily play it again. With the addition of even a basic clubhouse I'd tack on a 5th star. But no doubt the greens fees will go up when that happens. read more

Tired of the same lame neighborhood overpriced golf courses where the view is the same from every tee box. Where every putt hit is the same throughout your round, then you must venture out to The Home Course. The Home Course reminds me of Chambers Bay set in a different location. Massively wide, rolling fairways, meticulously manicured greens that even if you were the first group out they would still be fairly quick; no two putts look the same. The views from this course are amazing being in Dupont you can see across the water to Anderson Island. Since there are not very many trees on the course like so many other NW courses the views are unlimited. If this course were further north I believe green fees would be close to $100. But luckily for me its not. I signed up for their email registry where they send you their promotions for some up coming dates and times. A buddy and I were able to play 18 holes with cart at 7:15AM for $41. I don't know any other course in my area of this quality for this price point. Have played here several times and will continue to do so. The only reason I did not rate 5 stars is due to the lack of options of food to eat at the turn due to the *temporary* trailers that they are working out of until the pro-shop is completed. read more

One of the best courses by far in Western Washington. Course condition is impeccable. Greens are superb. Fairways are dry even after substantial rain. Water and mountain views are awesome. I was running late, only had time to play nine and my partners were already on the course. When checking in, the front desk people were awesome. They had a worker drive me out in a cart to meet up with my group. Could not believe it. They treated me like some VIP. Felt like Dustin Johnson getting the royal treatment. Always like the atmosphere here. It just seems like a golf course should be . Very professional staff. Love it . Will always make this course a first choice. Thanks for the great service. read more

First, I'd like to mention that the course is gorgeous. The views and the landscaping is worthwhile. I would love to play this course regularly, but.... It took us just about 5 1/2 hours to finish our round. We were told to play ready golf when we checked in, but it was clear that this message was either not relayed to the groups ahead of us, or they overbooked. We heard there was a Boeing tournament ahead of us but if that was the case, tee times should have been pushed back accordingly. My friend actually brought me here because the last time he played here, his group made it 13 holes in 6 hours, and they gifted him two free rounds. When the marshal rolled around and we voiced our displeasure, he simply shrugged and blew us off, claiming there was "nothing they can do." Actually, yes, there were things you could have done to prevent this, and you could also get on the groups ahead of us about speeding up play a bit. I love this game and understand the relaxing aspect of it, but 5 1/2 hours is just too long. Again, it is a beautiful course, but I was disappointed in how they managed their tee times and speed of play. I highly doubt I'll be back. read more

The Home Course is meticulously kept, the scenery while playing is absolutely gorgeous, and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. There are some *temporary* accommodations for the restrooms and pro-shop. They do have a gorgeously appointed pavilion, and while there isn't a clubhouse yet, I hear the plans for more permanent fixtures are already in the works. read more

I played here a few times. One time was a good experience and another time was a bad experience. The golf course is always in great condition 50% of the time. If you go play before a major tournament that is about to be held there. You just have to check the golf tournament calendar to see what day it will be held. Then play two weeks before the tournament. When you go at other times then the course is not that great of shape. It is maintain but not to the level of tournament style. My advice is if you are traveling far away to have a good golfing experience at HC then check the major tournament schedule for WA state. If you want a golfing experience similar to just a normal golf course that is playable but not in best shape or conditions for what you pay. Then come anytime during the year. Spring/Summer is better and Fall/Winter is ok at best. read more

If I could give more stars I would, played 36 holes yesterday 3/29/2019. From the moment we walked into the pro shop in the morning, we were treated like truly valued customers. Greeted by every single staff member we came in contact with. The starter was great, giving us some great tips, being funny and just starting us off in a good relaxed mood, (I have played many courses, where you start with a grumpy starter, who gets you aggravated before you hit the first tee) so this was extremely refreshing. Ok, on to the course....... Fairways & tee boxes were in excellent condition for the end of March, I was very impressed. The sand traps (yes, I was in quite a few) were without question, some of THE BEST, I have ever played out of!!!!! The greens, could have rolled a little quicker (But, this is March, so that is not a big deal to me) So when we checked in for the first 18, we were asked how fast we play, I play a substantial amount of rounds every year & consider myself a fast player, (typically back home, when I have one of the first tee times, I play 18 in 2-2 1/2 hours, wether walking or riding, depending on the course), well I have to tell you, without waiting for 90% of our shots, it took just over 3 hours to play, each of the 18's, the scenery is just so beautiful, I was taking pictures like a mad man, beautiful mountains, tons of wildlife. All I can say, is these guys do it right!!!! If I lived in the area, I would join The Home Course, without question read more

This course is FULL of potential. I live in DuPont and believe it is a hidden gem off I-5. Aesthetically, the course is one of the BEST neighborhood courses I have ever experienced. The course management is mediocre, and could improve their customer service, but for the most part they are doing the best they can with what they have available. The main problem with this place is the food and beverage management. I do not understand why the golf course doesn't get new people. My husband and I have gotten food poisoning TWICE from their wraps/sandwiches off the food cart. And the customer service in the club house and at the turn window is absolutely appalling. I wanted to love this course... I really did. First off - the good: The course is in impeccable shape. The holes are interesting, the greens never are as easy as they seem... and it's just a stunningly beautiful landscape. The price... not too horrible... but not sure if it's worth the $80 I paid (when I could pay half that at courses close to my house.) Now - the bad: They REALLY put golfers close together to maximize the amount of money they make off the course. On one par 5 they pushed us to have 3 groups of people on the hole at the same time... WTF? At the beginning of the course, the golf marshall was flat out rude. The rudest person I've ever dealt with on a golf course. Thank goodness he was only on that single hole. I can tell you though, that his attitude single handedly will ensure that I never return to this course. read more

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS COURE.... Upon arrival, you can pretty much see somewhat how the course is going to play, the way how the fairways and greens are manicured, cleaned up... its amazing, the practice facility has grass driving range,chipping area for short game, and putting greens that will get you ready before you go out on your round.... the staff here is nice, and they always make sure your not playin a slow pace, even tho i do here people tell me that sometimes there pushy, like you can get done wit a round in 2 hours...but its a great walking course, alot of history, used to be a ammo/gun powder depot, so everytime i smoke on the grounds, im careful were i flick my cigarrette, dont wanna blow up.... clubhouse is still under construction, but they have a lil trailer as a pro shop and a lil snack bar for you to grab something to eat md-round....i also like this place cause they set it up as a championship course, 5 sets of tee boxes for you to play off of, and the greens can get speedy at times....so if your a die hard golfer like me, gotta have this on your " to play" list.....see ya on the links.... read more

I live along the ten hole in the spyglass community in DuPont, wa. I love the view of the Olympic mountain range Puget Sound. Eagles fly over the golf course after dipping into the ocean for fish along the 15,16,17th holes. The cart path are all concrete. read more

Very cool looking golf course. I enjoy the style of course The Home Course provided-wide open, exposed, and very farm-like. Americanized links, perhaps. The course was open, and I was able to take some risks, but even from the 72.4/135 blues, the course wasn't overly punishing. I was lucky to avoid the majority of the bunkers, but the greens were vicious. I liked the practice facilities, but the clubhouse was nonexistent. A few trailers were the proshop. That's really the only reason that the course isn't 5/5...but the rates are great so I'll come back regardless. read more

The Home Course in Dupont is my new favorite golf course! The WSGA has done an amazing job with this course! I could not believe how amazing the conditions of the golf course were. This course requires you to think your way around it and is a very fair challenge for all levels. There are 5 different tee boxes to challenge your game. I would highly recommend this course to anyone, year round as I can tell that the conditions will hold throughout the winter. The clubhouse is still under construction so the proshop is in a temp trailer, hopefully they will have the construction completed soon. read more

Shot one of my best scores here so understand my review may be a bit bias. I would say initially I was not impressed with the club house and the looks of things as we arrived but thats where my doubts stopped. From top-to-bottom fairways, and traps and greens at The Home Course were impeccable. The greens are true and quick giving you a challenging but not impossible putts. Although a bit of a drive from Seattle, The Home Course is worth the effort to get there as the scenery is amazing and offers some of the best views I have seen after golfing at more than 20 golf courses in the Seattle Area. The price is a little much but you pay for what you get. If I had any complaints about the place it was the fact that it was a bit too easy with large fairways and short par 5's but the hilly terrain makes the course difficult enough with the tough lies even after a nice fairway drive. Will definitely be back but going to be tough to break my own course record. read more

I use to love those course to the point of putting up with the traffic driving from Seattle . But yesterday was the last straw !! We had a 10am tee time , arrived at 9 am , apparently they " didn't have the tee time for us " so my buddy pulled out the email showing confirmation , etc ... well I guess one of the guys bumped us to 11:30 . As we tried to comprehend a logical reason , they did not have one ... just a oops !! Really ??? With that said , we said fine ( expecting some form or compensation ) . Nothing but some free range balls !!! Lol it was almost a slap in the face!! We teed off and it took 3 1/2 hours just for the front 9 !!! At the point we just packed up and left !!! Awful customer service , lack of communication , etc ... sadly I will not be wasting my time and day anymore to play this course. I had heard great things about this course, so I was excited to finally play it. I was invited to play with a group on the Friday of the US Open. First off, the course layout is very fair. Wide fairways and big greens. The greens have a lot of grain, which is uncommon for Washington state, but they were still quite good. Also, their practice area is large and setup well. The problem that I have, is that normal Friday green fees in June are $62.00, but because it was US Open week (at a course 45 minutes away) the green fees were jacked up to $115.00. If I would have known this in advance, I would not have gone to the course. The course itself is worth the $62.00, but their facilities are awful. The "pro shop" is a single wide trailer like you would see for the foreman of a construction site. Their snack shop is another single wide trailer, though when we played mid-day Friday there was no food available at the turn without a 20+ minute wait. I am not opposed to paying $115.00 for a good round of golf, but that price tag comes with expectations and The Home Course did not check many of those expectations off the list. They have signs up for the expected completion dates of the future development phases for their pro shop, club house, and restaurant. I understand that they may not be in a place financially to build all of these facilities now, but in the mean time charge the appropriate rates for what you have. read more

One of my favorite courses to play in the state! This is how a golf course should be groomed. It plays hard and fast in dry weather and probably the best winter course around. It's my little hidden gem. Play out here mostly in the afternoon when it's cleared out, normally around 3 or 4 o'clock in the summer months. The twilight rates are very affordable for a quality golf course. 5 sets of tees to choose from but I mainly play the blacks (7,100 yards) or the dynamites(7,400 yards). This course offers an array of shot selections, especially around the greens. Please stay out of the huge sod faced bunkers if you want to score well. It's deceivingly difficult because the fairways are ample, but all the trouble is around the greens. If you haven't played this course, you need to. read more

4.5 Stars. Course is great. Lots of tee-ing choices for every level. Nice layout and good hazards. Not a lot of penalty for wayward tee shots....fairly open. Great environment and scenery. Tees/greens and fairways are all well taken care of. Practice facilities are good. Course facilities are non-existent. Still trailers for pro shop/restroom/food. Just waiting for funding, I assume. Staff is OK... Course is a bit of a pain to get to...slow drive through a neighborhood. Overall one of my favorite in the South Puget Sound area. read more
