So I'll be honest, I just got into golfing and have no basis of comparison for Driving Ranges, but my experience at Airport Golf Center has been stellar. Let's just start with he owner, who is friendly and gracious. He was very thankful to us for coming in and made us feel right at home. He explained how everything worked to us newbies with patience and it really set a good tone from the start. Next is the view... you're hitting golf balls right toward Mt. Rainier which is awesome. It hard to ask for a better setting. Lastly, they use the Top Tracer golf app which has lots of games, tools, and tracking to help you improve your game. The pricing from what I understand is very competitive as well. There is a refreshment bar inside with snacks and drinks, including adult beverages. There is also a modest pro shop and all staff are kind and friendly. Out front you'll also find a free putting green area for putting practice, as well as a new building which will eventually house batting cages as well. I highly recommend Airport Golf Center. read more

Nice people but prices are RIDICULOUS. 1 beer + 1 bucket = $40. For a couple it can hit $100 easily to HIT GOLF BALLS. Drive less than 10 min to Tumwater Valley Golf Club and hit a huge bucket out of the grass or under the shelter for $12, and also get free chipping from grass/sand AND putting. Great drinks and food there as well. read more

I am not interested in golf but i can say, the corn dog bites at this place are the actual bomb. I tried them for the first time during a trip with family and they have became my biggest pregnancy craving. I was even able to walk in and pay for an order of them without having to play golf after craving them for a week straight!! Planning on going back tonight for more. For the topic of golf (as someone that dosent enjoy it) It was super fun, they had a system set up so you could play angry birds and tons of other games with the golf. The prices for balls were awesome we got 200 for a group of 4 and they lasted about an hour! Nice warm heater right where you stand for golfing as well as tables for eating and seating couches with pellet heaters for everyone in your group! My only issue is how quickly the pellet heaters run out but it's only $10 for more pellets! I LOVE THE CORNDOG BITESS!!! read more

A nicely appointed, cozy driving range with hi-tech tee boxes. You'll love the auto ball feeder and ball tracking tech. Owner is a friendly, experienced professional who gladly offered advice (when asked) on my driver. With a surprisingly well appointed pro shop, we loved the atmosphere there. They have couches and table seating just behind the tee boxes, and the tech very closely resembles what you might find at a big-city Top Golf range--that said, I'll take Airport Golf Center any day! We went on Father's Day and were told there was a 30 minute wait and they took our name. We ran a 10 minute errand and came back to be told our name had been called and we should have stayed there. That wasn't mentioned initially. Not only that, but they put us at the end of the line instead of saying we would be next and said there were now 3 people ahead of us. We left. It's fine to wait, but poor customer service in rectifying the situation and lack of communication lost you a reliable customer. read more

Yes the price is pretty steep $30 for 100 balls but the selection of items for food and drink is great also there is so much in the actual store. The staff is great and very helpful. The range is in great condition and the simulators are super fun. I now go around twice a month. read more

My husband needed his golf clubs re-gripped so we decided to all come check it out. Glad we did. As soon as we walked in we were met by the owner and he introduced himself to the kids and asked me (secretly) if they could have suckers. He gave them all a sucker and then shook their hands and made small talk. He took the time to make them feel welcome and talked to them on their level. I give him 5 stars just for that but the place itself is family friendly. They have tables, games, candy, food. The outdoor area has a sitting area and a driving range which is really chill. This place was definitely worth the price you pay!! Who would of thought a Top Golf experience right in my own backyard?? I've been here a few times now and the service is always excellent. It's a great place to stop by and have a good time whether you're going solo or hanging out with friends. I just discovered the selection of beer that is kept in a cooler behind the front desk. This was a pleasant surprise and I enjoyed being able to drink a beer while I got some batting practice in. I come here for the batting cages, but there are a lot more options to choose from - foot golf, driving range, pro shop, etc. it's a relatively small facility compared to some, but definitely the most friendly and has plenty to offer. The greens and fairways are really not in good shape at all. They are in the middle of restoring the course. The owner explained that he took over a year ago and it was in terrible shape and they have been working to restore it. It is obvious that they are making efforts in that regard, but for now it is a sea of yellow fairways with islands of green around the putting surfaces. Sadly, though, the greens themselves are riddled with huge areas of sand/seed mixture, making putting very unreliable. I emailed the owner with a list of suggestions that would help improve the course and he seemed receptive. As of now, I would rate the course 2/5, the range 3/5, and the staff 5/5. The course has a lot of potential, and if they keep making improvements, it could easily be 4 or 5 stars. I'll be interested to see how it is next summer when I come back up to Washington. The staff was very friendly and up-front about the condition of the course, and that saves them from an even lower rating. read more

Since I found this place a few weeks ago, I have gone every week. It is hidden in Tumwater next to the Olympia Airport and Boomshaka. The staff is friendly and helpful. This place has a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Some of the range stations have a shot tracer and simulated course. There is an area to practice your short game and putts. The best part about this place for me is it stays open until 10pm on Friday and Saturdays. Also, all stations have heating and seating. It's a great place to practice your game or just hangout with friends (btw this place serves drinks). I plan to make this a weekly destination. read more

Went for the first time today and met, "Mark" the owner. What a great guy with an uphill battle. But he's fighting through it. This range will be premium when he's done. I'd suggest you locals make friends with him quickly and get in on the ground floor. Awesome place with decent prices. Beers weren't open yet but it's coming. This is a fun and cheap 9 hole course that's fairly challenging for beginners. I played it in July and the fairways were dry as straw, but the greens were decent. It's a pretty scenic too with nice views of Mt. Rainier and the surrounding countryside plus the airport control tower, which I thought was pretty cool. My favorite part was that it wasn't at all crowded (even on a sunny weekend) and the staff were nice and friendly. Has a good sized covered driving range too. I'll definately be back! read more

By far the worst batting cages. The ball is consistently all over the place never in the same spot. Biggest waste of time and money ever.

I gotta be honest here, the fairways are in pretty bad shape, and there are some major basins (water hazards in the past) where you can lose a ball more easily than you might think. However, the owner is very upfront about the condition of the course, and he and the other staff are really nice. When he gets this into working condition, it's going to be a pretty sweet (and difficult!) course. Bottom line: go do the all-you-can-play with low expectations, and you'll enjoy yourself. read more

The driving range is okay but DO NOT play the 9 hole course! I played it 2 years ago and it was in decent shape at the time. I seriously don't think it has been watered since then. The fairways are mostly weeds and the "greens" are like brown concrete. I'm not sure why it is still being used. read more

I recently went out to the Airport Golf Center in Tumwater because they have a driving range and I'm desperately trying to fix a recently acquired slice with my driver. I'd been out here to the driving range and the executive 9-hole course years ago and found it to be a pretty good value. However, years ago, the fairways and the greens (the greens in particular) were very poor. Today, after hitting a bucket in an effort to correct my slice, I spoke with Jeff (who runs the place) and was extremely impressed by him. He's very customer and community oriented and dedicated to making the facility a quality destination for the local golfer. I'll definitely be coming back to play a couple 9's and to sit around and shoot the breeze with Jeff and the rest of the customers in the clubhouse. If you haven't been out here in awhile, give it a shot (punny) again. If you haven't been out here before, give it a try. It's a great value for what you're getting and the environment is top notch thanks to Jeff and his staff! read more
