This was not the case in the store and turns out store ordered the incorrect model. They have refused to address issue and referred my elderly mom to deal with manufacturer directly. I just happen to drop in today for the first time looking for lighting over my bathroom vanity. I was very impressed with the selection and the quality of the selection. While I was at it, I looked for a mirror to go over the vanity and came across something so unexpected but so nice. Excellent experience. Went in looking for lighting for a home project. We weren't hounded or pressured in any way. Sandra offered help and she spent plenty of time with us, and exerted no pressure to "buy now" or upsell. Sandra helped us find the items we liked, which we later called in an order for. Went to find a replacement for our kitchen island pendants - I was looking for something pretty specific - they had a great selection and we had fantastic customer service from Kerry, the salesperson who was so dedicated to doing everything she could to find the match to a discontinued item that they had as a floor model - I needed 2 and the store only had one in stock - she went above and beyond to track the item down for us and then packed up the floor model herself! We just bought two ceiling fans and without Lorrie's help, I'm not sure how we would have navigated the process online. Incorrect downrods with incorrect prices were listed online and remote control and receiver selections were confusing. I am thoroughly disappointed with this shop - we ordered a floor lamp which was supposed to have been shipped out 3 weeks ago. I called the store to check on the status since i received no email. After holding for solid 12 minutes, they tell me they have not shipped the item since they are waiting for manager approval. After a week of no update, i call again and leave multiple messages. Nobody has called me with any update. I am shocked at their lack of response. Definitely not going back to this store. read more

Today I visited this store. I walked around looking at the ceiling fixtures without feeling like someone was breathing down my neck. When I found one that I fell in love with, I asked a young man for assistance. He quickly got Nancy, a sales rep., to help me. We went to her computer to pull up the specs of the fixture and she also told me that she was going to give me a printout of the sheet. She went over the information with me such as the size, what kind of bulbs the fixture takes, the price, etc. Then Nancy suggested that we look at the fixture to see how the globes look with the lights on. I felt that she was willing to assist me as long as I needed her help. I told her that I wanted to look at the other fixtures in the store. She did not follow me, which I was very happy about. When I finished looking, I went over to her desk and she gave me the spec. sheet. I told her that I think I want to buy the fixture, but I want to make 100% sure that I want that fixture. Besides the spec. sheet, she gave me her business card and said that I can call her to order it over the phone if I decide I want to purchase it. I went home and did some serious research. I found that the price of that fixture was nicely priced at Capitol Lighting. I will definitely order that fixture from Capitol Lighting. read more

Can't beat the selection Been looking for some time for fixtures for my new house. Have not seen another place in NJ that has the selection that Capital Lighting has....can't wait to get my new chandeliers! The only negative I have is that I have been in a couple of times, and now I am finally ready to buy 4 fixtures (roughly $3,000) but I was told I could only get the 20% discount on one, 10% on the others. I was very happy with my experience at capitol lighting. I took the drive down to look for a small bedroom chandelier. When I first walked in I immediately thought two things. 1. Wow I'm going to be here all day and 2. I wonder what their electric bill is? There was soooooo much to see. So naturally I looked up and took a few laps around the store. On my second lap or so a salesmen approached and asked if I needed help. I told him I was looking for an " Elizabeth Taylorish" bedroom chandler. I showed him a picture of my bedroom and he immediately showed me to three fixtures that were all gorgeous. We both agreed that one was definitely it. The price was $350 but he offered me a discount due to a current promotion-- I did ask since a friend told me prices here were negotiable. I was in and out in about 30-40 minutes and I spent exactly what my budget called for. They delivered the piece about 3 days later to my house no charge. read more
