The arrangements for my spouse's remains were easily taken care of, the funeral director was appropriately respectful and efficient, and the charges were extremely low, lower than a competing service that has a reputation for low costs. He took care of ordering the death certificates and publishing the obituary, never complaining about my numerous revisions to the text. In the end, he called me to report they had overcharged me about $2.00 on each death certificate and asked how I'd like the money refunded. Talk about scrupulously honest! Mind you he was set up and ready to be viewed. We were his family and wanted to settle in before guests arrived. However, we reminded several times that we were early and even when the gentlemen didn't even know the correct time he said. We asked if we should wait outside and was told no, but you're just early. He blurted out "We normally open at 10 l" He never said "Hi" "welcome" "sorry for your loss" would have been nice as soon as we walked in the door. I know people feel like they have to say everything on their mind but how often do you expect us to be here to feel the need to share that information? I think using a bit of grace, patience and withholding your own feelings and words that come off as a complaint. I understand that these days people dont really want to work or even that they are burnt out. But this is a business of mourning and grief and when people are spending their money at your establishment the least you can do is be kind even if you have to turn on the fake smile and greeting 10 mins earlier for a grieving family. When I also asked if the music which was very emotional gospel music could be turned off. I got pushback and questioned about not liking it and that it's on it's lowest volume. When we inquired about closing my uncles casket we got a "that's on y'all" type of response. He had a bad attitude the entire time. I understand people in the industry are probably numb to all this but these are peoples loved ones. I will say that he redeemed himself to explain that it once it's closed he can't reopen for late guests. In a situation like that I would have from the jump explained that in my experience it's best to wait. I think this funeral home could use a dose of customer service consultation. As someone who consults in customer service, it's very unnerving to see a lot of establishments lose focus on providing excellent customer service especially in an industry where you clientele are emotional mourners and grieving their loved ones. I'm very aware that doing this over and over can create a sense of numbness or just seeing the deceased and their families as paying customers but please remember that peoples are saying goodbye to their loved ones who they have life long bonds with. I hope that this funeral home doesn't lose sight of that with their future customers. Lastly for the condition of the building...I think you all might want to revisit being a little nicer for the people who decide to use your services. I understand that y'all are affordable and honestly the only option for a lot of people in this community but please asking you to clean and make that place a little more welcoming to grieving families. Oh and I forgot instead of them calling us to tell us my uncle urn wasn't big enough they gave us his ashes in a plastic bag. I know it didn't fit but the least you could do is provide a low costing box so families arent traumatized by looking at their loved ones remains in a clear plastic bag. You all should look into what makes a good funeral home and pick up on that.

Thibadeau Mortuary Service was a real blessing for my family in a trying situation. Several family…read moremembers provided their urns at the last minute, and we were having the celebration of life in a different state than the original funeral home. We needed help quickly to accommodate family so they could get my mother's ashes before they left the area. Thibadeau took care of us at our convenience, we were able to drop off and pick up, a gentleman even helped me carry the heavy veteran's urn to my car. An experience that I expected to be awkward, was made comfortable by caring and respectful staff, on the phone, by email and in person. We will appreciate their kindness forever.

USE SOMEONE ELSE -so you don't have to add watching the funeral home to the list of things to do…read moreduring a tragic time. We used McQuire Funeral Home for my mothers cremation. We had a memorial service elsewhere, so this was to be the only service provided. They offered a 3rd party for the programs and to place the obituary ad in the Washington Post. When we got the funeral program I immediately noticed McQuire had added their logo to the program w/out asking. It just showed up in the 1st round shared w/ us by the printer. I thought that was tacky but was able to have that removed. I should have taken this as a sign. We sent them the final copy of the obituary and the almost $700 for the fee to the Washington Post. However, this time we were not able to see/approve the obit before it was printed. I can't put into words the disgust I felt when I saw the funeral home had added "Funeral services at McQuire" to the final obituary. Besides the fact that we weren't asked if this was ok, it wasn't true. It would have been misleading for anyone looking for information about the memorial. This is greedy and shameful. They offered my father $16 as compensation for the pain their greed caused during the darkest time of our lives and for something that can't be fixed. To further confirm the integrity of this place, I'd like to add that we considered using them for limo services but their fee of $675 for a 9 seat car was over $200 more then the other estimates received. The last thing you want to be worried about when you lose a love one is being taken advantage of the funeral home. Try whichever other one that pops up in this screen instead. Your chances of not adding pain on top of pain will be better.
