I was referred to Capitol Shine from a friend and I am extremely satisfied with the work that they did. My parking garage had an pipe bursting incident that left my prized possession covered in rusty mineral water. I was honestly worried that there might be permanent damage to the vehicle, especially the soft top. Needless to say, cleaning up this car would be quite an undertaking. Scheduling an appointment was a painless process and I was able to make an appointment for the next day or so. I dropped my car off at a parking garage in Courthouse and met William, the service manager. William did an exceptional job walking me through the work to be performed. I signed up for a full detail as the spillage was quite pervasive (e.g. door jambs, wheels, engine bay... etc). On top of this, I requested Iron X treatment to ensure there would be no issues with rust or corrosion on the paint, this was definitely an expensive, but necessary add-on -- don't expect this to be cheap. Capitol Shine kept my car overnight to continue working until pick up the following morning. Finished product -- the car was looking brand new, completely cleaned inside and out. During pick up, William walked me through an inspection so we could do a spot check in case any areas were missed. William was very knowledgeable about car care, and even recommended some additional services that I could consider in the future (e.g. refinishing wheels, ceramic coat, swirl removal). While a bit on the pricey side, I think this was well worth the cost considering the quality of work and service, would definitely work them again. read more

So Rob, the owner, got in touch with me after seeing how disappointed I was with the car wash. He scheduled a wash and vac, completely free of charge. There are very few companies who are willing to do that and these companies should be rewarded to proactively correct their faults. With that, I want to summarize my experience. I have never (nor do I think I will ever) go to a more customer experience oriented car wash. However, for the time they take to wash the car, I'm a little confused on how they miss details. The second time I went, my gauge cluster was dusty. The front passenger side plastic trimming near the feet was dusty. I don't know if I'm being too picky for $45 because I have never paid that much before but it seems unusual. They did a great job on the exterior. Most places don't get the wheels cleaned right but they did great. Also, I think the garage location isn't the best place because the lighting isn't as bright as the sun and so you can't see areas that are still unclean. For example, my rear windshield was not fully clean. It seemed like they did wipe it but not fully. Either way, I will go back to this place because they're super friendly and I am confident that if I point things out to them specifically before hand, they will get done. read more

My car was quite dirty after months of not washing it and recently getting a dog who loves to lick windows, so I opted in for the car wash and vacuum package. The guys had my car done in 1.5 hrs and did an amazing job! The inside is dirt and dust free, and I can't get over how shiny the exterior is. I'll definitely be back! read more

We can all agree that Arlington is awful for parking! Even a police officer I asked for parking guidance replied with "good luck"! Especially harder for me who is not familiar with the area. I had business at the Permits office this week. After driving round and round looking for a spot I was so thankful to stumble upon Capital Shine on level P3 of the Courthouse parking garage. Loved the valet aspect of it. Yes! Please take my car from me rather than me having to park in the tiniest spots I've ever seen and risk door dings. Yes! Please hand wash and detail my wheels AND keep my car until my business is done. Yes! Please waive my parking garage fee since I used your services. I understand the extra charge for pet hair but I feel like the amount of pet hair in my hair was minimal and not $50 more to the already pricey detail. We had just purchased a Tesla Model X and I wanted it protected but didn't know exactly we should get. We ended up doing a clear front bra and lower panels and ceramic coated the entire thing inside and out. I wasn't sure exactly what to get but they did a great job explaining my options to me and helping me figure out exactly what I needed. Really want to give these guys five stars but there were a couple of hiccups in their customer service. First, we showed up and no one was answering the phone or able to open the garage for us. After the umpteenth time, someone answered and said that they had made a mistake in our booking, claiming that they thought we scheduled for a day later. After a few minutes, we arrived at the garage for the third time, issue resolved, but not without its frustrations. Second, the Yelp advertisement was not honored. According to the staff, they couldn't get ahold of the owner so they couldn't give us the deal. Seriously? I think that's called false advertising. Right? Unfortunately, I'm torn between giving the gang five stars in order to get a free wash and my code of honesty. I cannot give them an undeserving perfect rating just for a free wash. I advise calling in advance to verify your appointment and verifying whether the Yelp deal is applicable prior to showing up. I had my steel grey metallic car fully detailed and also had paint correction on some very fine scratches on the trunk lid. Simply put, these guys are professionals and their attention to detail is what makes them better than other detailers. The car was dropped off at 8:30am in the morning and it was ready by 1:00pm. I'd never gotten a car detailed before. Mine had an unpleasant odor and was generally just nasty dirty, so I googled and found Capitol Shine and made an appointment for a shampoo and wash. I wasn't a great customer--had to cancel my first appointment on very short notice, and took a couple of weeks to reschedule. I didn't get a chance all my stuff cleaned out of the car to make their job easier. But they were fantastic! Rob (the owner) showed up himself to pick up my car. They had it done in just a few hours, looking better than it had when I bought it and smelling fantastic. He'd mentioned that I might want to get the circulation system vaporized to really get rid of the smoke smell, but said they'd see how it smelled after they shampooed it. After the shampooing, he called to tell me the smell appeared to be gone without needing the additional treatment. I really appreciated that they didn't try to upsell me to something I didn't need. May 2014 update: I have to say Capitol Shine has a pretty awesome customer service, management and location. Thats why i increased my rating. Rob and Emil are really nice people and make a good effort to make clients happy. After my review from March I got an email and phone call from owner Rob. He offered me a free car detail and wax. They did a pretty good job to attend and fix details I complained about from my March job. This time I left the garage happy but again you can't see a lot while in the garage. When i got home, I found my passenger window still have an old dirt stain, the electric panel and parts of door interior didn't see a wipe. I also found some hair and stuff in the interior floor on the passenger side. The job failed to meet some of my expectations specially when this car was not hard or complicated to clean . I expected more attention to really basic details. ***********************************************++ I went to Capitol this month march 2014 using a amazon deal. Manager was nice. job was poorly done. My car's windows pretty much full of water stains, the hood's corner was pretty much untouched with dirt stains I pointed out to the guy and he was trying to clean the dirt. Garage is too dark to see other details. I found dirt, dry leaves and other junk around the hood's corner. They also left my car's lights on because they couldn't figure out how to turn them off . Great find! They were able to squeeze in my Honda on a busy Saturday for a wash and wax. The location is in the bottom of a parking garage-kind of random, but who cares! The service was very friendly and they did a really great job. They even removed some old registration stickers that left residue for free. Pretty reasonably priced too. My car smelled awful, and took my car to the Capitol Shine location near the Ballston metro. At first I drove around in circles looking for the location at 2 Liberty Center. There is no sign outside, and like three different garages that look like they could be attached to that building. I eventually went into the wrong garage. But, I called and the "manager" helped me find the proper place. I'm not gonna lie. I was really creeped out. I drove to the bottom of a parking garage, and there was just one guy there who asked me what I wanted him to focus on cleaning and when I'd be back. I gave him my keys, let him run my credit card and left for work thinking there was a 50/50 shot my car would be stolen when I got back and I'd be out $110. It didn't seem legit at all. That said, I went back later that night and found my car exactly where I left it. The keys were left with the parking attendant. The smell? Gone - and it smelled clean for months. I've never seen my car look so clean. My only qualm is that I actually had to pay for parking my car in the lot while Capitol shine cleaned it. You'd think they would have reached some sort of agreement about that with the garage. And the whole not being able to find it. Get a sign. read more

Wow, my car hasn't looked this new since it was...well...NEW! Inside and out, they did car detailing with an emphasis on *detail*. They didn't miss a nook, cranny, or anything in between. William Graves did an excellent job on my BMW X5 after my company's building leaked concrete minerals onto the hood, while the vehicle was parked in the garage. The minerals would not come out with a simple rub. It only made matters worse. The minerals actually blended into the paint job. Capitol Shine did a nice wash/vac for the car. They told me it would take an hour and a half and they would call when it was done. So we walked around the area for an hour and a half plus, waiting for the call which we never received. Finally we went back to see the car was done. This place is great! I took my car (Ford Escape) in after 2 years of not having a good, detailed, thorough cleaning (I also park my car outside year-round) and Capitol Shine made the entire process easy. The online scheduling was great and in an hour and a half of submitting, I received a personal response and a google calendar invite for my appointment. I was greeted immediately when I entered their Ballston location and the estimated time frame for my car was excellent. The attention to detail is amazing, my car looks like Almost like new, inside and out. The only negatives were that there is a bird dropping stain on the windshield that is still there (not as bad as it used to be) and when I picked up my car, I had to walk a little ways into the garage to find it. If they had pulled my car up for me, that would have made me feel a bit more secure. Also, the 20% off on yelp check in did not apply for my Quick Shine service, but these things are minor negatives. I still recommend Capitol Shine because of their professionalism, thorough cleaning of my very dirty car, and they also validated my parking in their garage (which in Arlington, is a big deal). read more

Convenient location for me as I park and work in the same building. I was very satisfied with the work and I like the fact that they didn't try to sell me more than I needed. I was debating getting a shampoo for the interior but the gentleman told me that he could make it look nice by just vacuuming and wiping down the interior and he was true to his word. Took our car here after an unfortunate milk spill in the backseat. The car smelled absolutely terrible, but Capitol Shine was able to remove the smell completely.
