First of all the STAFF at the Capitola Hotel is simply awesome. They tell you exactly where you can and can't park so you don't get a ticket from the ticket happy meter maids. The staff also gives you a free parking permit that allows you free parking in certain areas. The staff also gives you great recommendations of where to go, what to eat, and what to do in Santa Cruz too. Plus, free coffee & biscotti at 8am :) The hotel itself is extremely charming with all of it's character and tropical french country look. So freaking cute! I have never been in such a CLEAN hotel and every detail in the bathrooms and bedrooms haven't been overlooked. Our room had a flat screen t.v, view of the ocean, nice closet, reading over head lamps which you don't have to get up and turn off...the switch is on your head board (awesome). We also had a mini fridge, wood cutting board (cheese) and down pillows and comforter. The bathroom had makeup remover towelettes, q-tips, cotton, organic lotion, green tea shampoo & conditioner, a lit magnifying mirror, and petal stool sink. Need I mention the TWO shower heads in the shower! :) The restaurants are across the street, not even 10 yards, great delicious food, no need to drive! In the morning we grabbed a cup of coffee from the lobby and walked on Capitola's boardwalk....so clean and safe too. There's wine tasting, shopping, salt water taffy shops, and the VIEW! P.S. Charming boutique hotel right in Capitola Village. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Made sure we had towels when hearing we were headed to the beach and even loaned us 2 beach chairs. We stayed in the Nevis room which overlooked Esplanade and even had a glimpse of the ocean. It was on the smaller side but we knew that going in. It was clean and the bed, linens, and pillows were very comfortable. The soap, lotion, and shampoo had a wonderful scent. The light continental breakfast was fresh and just what we needed to start our day. In the afternoon enjoyed our wine in their garden courtyard with complimentary cookies. There was even an outdoor fireplace and water fountain in the courtyard which added to the great ambiance. We enjoyed being within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the beach. When finding out we were celebrating a milestone anniversary they even left a cute gift box with 2 chocolates and a card that said "Happy Anniversary" in our room. I was very disappointed in our room. Let me start from the beginning, I called about a week prior and talked to a young lady about the room and any amenities that were not being offered due to COVID-19. She told me there was no restrictions on the amenities and encouraged me to look online for all the information to get a better idea of the hotel. So I did that. On their website it doesn't say that they are not serving complementary breakfast snacks or all day coffee or tea due to COVID 19. They didn't even offer any food or beverages at all except for coffee in the AM and it was not very good.( at least not what I'm used to drinking and I love my coffee)I found out once I arrived that they were not offering those amenities/services at this time. I was also told the girl that gave me that information is no longer working for the hotel. ( was less than a week since I last spoke to her) As she should have told me over the phone and not re-directed me to a website that wasn't updated. I did ask why the website was not updated with the current information and was told that it's too pricey to update the website. Which is fine, but that is why I called to get the most updated information. I liked what I seen in the pictures of the room Martinique and went ahead and booked it. It was pricey but I thought it was worth it with everything that was included. I was under the impression this is a boutique style hotel and offered the best there was to offer. When entering my room I noticed nothing looked like the picture. Furniture, bed linen, decorative pillows and room accents. It was not inviting at all. Pillows were damp. I did ask for more pillow cases and they were exchanged out. Room was dusty and floor has dirty. ( walking barefoot my foot was black and had sand) even though the floor color hides dirt well to the naked eye it could be felt on the feet. The linen may have been considered "luxury" at one time but no longer has that appeal. They were not soft at all as stated. They were stained, old and not fluffy. Very used towels that needs to be replaced. I also read the mirror is lighted in the bathroom and that did not work either. We even hit the reset button on outlet. There were random ants in bathroom and one big nasty looking spider in Bed area. The survey card left out for their guests to write on had no pen in room and was old and nasty/ stained looking. Was even stuck to dresser at one time( as you could see the paper mark in dresser). Linen on bed comforter had a few stains too. I don't mind paying top dollar for a hotel room if it's worth it. This was not worth it. I feel like I was ripped off and didn't get the hotel room in the pictures on your website! Very overpriced for what I got. The bed was clunky and not sturdy at all! Customer service was great and Julie was a big help! The other lady was super sweet and nice too. Shower water was awesome and I enjoyed the soft water. Wasn't all bad but definitely didn't get what I payed for. Would not recommend this place to others looking for a 4-5 star hotel. It has been over a week since I've stayed here and I reached out via email and filled out their survey card with no response. They got their money and don't care is how I feel so this is a heads up. My husband and I decided to come here from Sacramento to get away for the weekend and it was the best time ever. Our room had the best view. We could see the ocean and our favorite place Pizza my Heart. It's located right across the street from the Sand bar. Another fun establishment to hang out. The room was clean super friendly staff and comfortable bed. The noise didn't bother us at all! We also paid an additional 40$ to park in one of the hotels two reserved parking spots locating in the garage right next to the hotel. Well worth it as we didn't have to worry about our car at night with the night life. Definitely returning to this hotel soon. read more

My wife & I stayed in the Martinique in March 2021, to celebrate our 2Y anniversary over the weekend. The hotel is in a great location, right across from the beach and next to Pizza My Heart, Margaritaville, Sotola, Bay Bar & Grill, My Thai Kitchen and Zeldas. I had made a booking for this place with all the great views about it and thought it would be a great place to stay at. They did say there paring and there would not be a problem, great I thought. I get a email about the date and then tell me that the parking is $30.00 a day. WHAT? They never said that there would be a cost for parking. I called the the lady said that there is parking and if I did not want to pay, I could get a pass to park someplace else and the parking is that the cars have to be moved every 3 hours but the pass would let the car stay overnight. I just want to start off saying that I am extremely saddened and disappointed by my latest experience. I decided to leave a review after I have received absolutely NO contact from the owner or manager regarding my experience (as the receptionist told me that someone would be contacting me to "make things right.") I have stayed at the Capitola Hotel many times in the past and my husband and I look forward to spending his birthday there every year. I booked our hotel room (Jamaica) two months in advance. As a birthday present to my husband, my mother-in-law called the Capitola Hotel and prepaid for our room. I also received a confirmation of my reservations the Wednesday prior to our stay. When we got to the hotel and I told the receptionist that I was checking in, she seemed confused as she tried searching for the key card. She went up the room and came back down and asked me if I had already checked in. I told her "no" and she looked perplexed. She tried to make a couple of calls and after a time of looking at the computer system, she discovered that someone had put someone else in our room. She stated that a woman checked out on the Sunday and wanted to say another night so the person in the morning just put her in our prepaid reserved room. This place is usually fully booked at least a month in advance, so why would staff just assume that they could just accommodate this lady's spur of the moment request. The receptionist seemed sincerely apologetic and tried calling the other lady in our room (to no avail.) She then called other hotels and was able to find us a room at the Best Western, which they did pay for our room. The only problem is that we were staying at the Capitola Hotel because we had reservations at Paradise Beach Grille and my husband and I wanted to have a couple of drinks without having to worry about driving or calling a taxi. The receptionist told me that the charge to my mother-in-law's card would be refunded and that I would be receiving a call from the manager or owner to make things right, which hasn't happened yet. The sad thing is that I have recommended this hotel to many friends and had reservations for Valentine's Day weekend. We stayed here a year ago when we were obviously in the honeymoon phase of our relationship. I think that helped us overlook a few things that hit us right in the face this time. The location is simply the best... This means they can get away with anything they want. They have a new policy that includes a two night minimum. That's going to set you back over $500. Say a prayer you will be able to find a parking spot and do not leave once you find one. The beds are sinking in and the pillows are flat. For the rate.. You would think you'd get at least a comfortable bed. Here's my favorite. We kind of have a beach system... We get breakfast, set up around 11ish to read and lay out, and then go back to our hotel around 3:30 for some downtime before dinner. After being out all day all you want is a nice air conditioned hotel room right? It's the hottest part of the day. Our room was boiling hot. The lady came in and basically told us to use the "vent" which pushed hot air around. We couldn't really believe it.. And she seriously looked at my husband and said "well you're just gonna have to sweat it out.." Sweat it out?! Is this the gym or a vacation? Do yourself a favor and hit up the Dream Inn or another little hotel in the area. That comment was just rude.. And they are completely allowed to get away with it because it's the best location in Capitola. If you like dropping over $500 for old beds, flat pillows, a ceiling fan and a vent.. I would have to echo the comments of the other 2 reviews before me. I enjoyed Capitola and I had a good time, but I would not return to Capitola Hotel. If the rooms were about 1/3 to 1/2 the price, then I might consider it.. but, at over $150 a night for a 11'x12' (tiny) room and the necessity to wear earplugs to sleep.. well, let's face it folks, you can do much better, even in Capitola. Unfortunately for us, they DID NOT leave us earplugs the first night and we had no idea how much noise there was going to be from the nearby bars.. the live music was tolerable. The hooting and hollering until 2 am was really obnoxious... that coupled with the phones ringing at 7:30 am and fire alarms sounding in the rooms (for no apparent reason).. let's just say the stay at the Capitola Hotel was definitely the LOWLIGHT of our stay. Of course, when we complained to staff about the numerous issues, we were given excuses and blank stares. But, you can bet we did make sure we had earplugs for the 2nd night! I found the Capitola Hotel through bedandbreakfast.com and for that reason, I was under the illusion that it was a B&B. Boy, that was a mistake! Unless you consider comp. coffee/tea and a plastic wrapped danish to be a breakfast, you are going to be sorely disappointed if you are looking for B&B service here! It is really a motel with no dedicated parking, at B&B prices. It is clean and well maintained, I will give them that. The staff was polite, sympathetic and somewhat helpful, if not a bit misinformed and apparently unable to remedy any problems. The location is ideal, as it is right in the middle of downtown and that makes it easy to run back to the room to freshen up or drop parcels while shopping. But, keep in mind that even with the parking pass they issue guests, you are on your own to find a parking place and even in the off-season, that can be nearly impossible. If you go to Capitola, I suggest the Inn at Depot Hill ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/inn-at-depot-hill-capitola ). I would also suggest you make advance reservations for dinner at the Shadowbrook Restaurant ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/shadowbrook-restaurant-capitola ) and have lunch (or brunch) at Zelda's on the Beach ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/zeldas-on-the-beach-capitola-2 ), the service is spotty, but the food and the views more than make up for it. Also, I might suggest you book a few hours at Caress Day Spa ( http://www.yelp.com/biz/caress-day-spa-capitola ). It is about .6 mile from downtown, a bit of a walk or a very short drive, but it really is a 5-star day spa with very reasonable prices and excellent spa services. Avoid the Capitola Hotel (see above) and the Fog Bank Tavern as well as the Wharf House (see my reviews there, if you want more). Parking in and around Capitola totally sucks and your best time to visit is the off-peak season (September-May), particularly if you get a few days of clear weather. We went the last week of November (2008) and it was absolutely fantastic. Clear skies and balmy days, a bit chilly after dark, but no lines/waits and plenty to do and see around town. read more

This last weekend the hubby and I booked the Paradise room at The Capitola for a night "away" (or over the 17). Here's the rundown: Pros: Service: The nice older ladies that work the front desk are incredibly sweet, helpful, friendly, and knowledgable about the area. Location: You can't beat it. It's in the heart of the Village, walking/stumbling distance to all Capitola has to offer AND the beach! Clean, comfy, and updated room: The room is definitely taken care of, as it has all of these must-haves in a hotel room. The shape was a bit odd, but they made it work. They have a fridge, iron/ironing board, and decent bathroom basic amenities. Cons: Parking: It doesn't exist. They are kind enough to provide a parking pass which will allow you to park in any of the numbered spots. Suggest getting there EARLY to get good parking. You'll have to double park, unload, grab the pass, and get to praying to the parking gods. Nitpicky cons, but good to know: Closet: Though there is a closet, there aren't any hangars. At least, not in this room. I only cared because I had brought a nice outfit for dinner that night. I just draped it over the ironing board, and they do have an iron to help you out. In-room coffee: Doesn't exist. You can go to the lobby for a "breakfast", which has a decent selection of Keurig coffee, yogurt, gas station pastries, muffins, etc. Hey, it's free, so you can't complain! But, for those of you that prefer coffee in-room, before you have to face other humans, you're SOL. All in all, I definitely recommend this place for a nice getaway. read more

Stayed at Capitola Hotel a few years ago with my boyfriend over 4th of July weekend. Pros: -Cute cozy little room, just enough room for the 2 of us -Our room was in the front with a great view of the beach and the cute downtown -Nice and friendly staff -We were given a complementary appetizer for Shadowbrook , which we decided to use and was fantastic Cons: -Extremely loud at night! With all the restaurants and bars across the street -Our AC didn't work and it was very warm that weekend, we couldn't leave the window open with all the noise at night, so sleeping wasn't as pleasant -Parking is awful! The reception staff is very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is clean, quaint & comfy. We had a partial view of the ocean which was nice. The location is perfect to all the dining, bars and shops. My husband and I just enjoyed our 1st anniversary here together on 9/17/11. The staff is fantastic, welcoming and warm and the rooms are cozy, comfortable (LOVE the pillows) and CLEAN. We got there for normal check in and snagged one of the many spots available on the street right in front of the hotel (although spots do go past about 12PM). As for the noise problems, its an obvious to me (confused why some in reviewers seem so caught off guard) that your trade off for being in the center of the main street and entire village is in fact that you are so close to these establishments, of course you are going to have residual noise. After the previous weekends 100 degree weather, we wanted to get out of town and head to the beach so we booked here on pretty short notice. Stayed the weekend with my wife and 2 young children (2 &6) in the Grand Cayman room. The hotel is on the main strip of Capitola, right across from all of the bars and restaurants. It is a great location for spending all day at the beach - you don't have to trek very far, parking is a snap, you have somewhere to retire to for naps and you can have meals on your own patio that has table & chairs. Also, a microwave and fridge is in the room as well. The pros- great location, clean, friendly staff, and the kitchenette make it a perfect little family room. The cons- it is pricey and the noise at 2AM when the bars close is loud. I would definitely stay here again. I think if I planned a little farther ahead of time, I might try to stay in one of the condo's along the beach, but from what I can tell they are pretty booked up. Ok here it is, we have stayed at the hotel 3 times, the first two times was just an awesome experience!!! We stayed for New Years eve in 2012 very nice staff, clean rooms awesome place, perfect location we had a blast!!! This year New Years eve 2013, nice at check in Susan is an amazing manager, being our wedding anniversary and having reservations at the Shadow brook, she made sure we had VIP treatment a cab ready it was perfect!! she is awesome!!!! UNTIL the next day, a lady named Marie was cleaning rooms, we asked a question she was rude and snobby!! we stayed in the Antigua the first two nights, and was told we could keep the parking pass as long as we needed for the day we checked out with no issues from Susan. Then we got a nasty call from the lady "Marie" stating bring back the pass NOW because the hotel was full that night and they needed it, and that she charged our card $75 !!! So we walked over and talked to Susan, the hotel was NOT booked, she refunded our money of course, and we actually stayed another night funny for being full! Bottom line unless they get rid of that nasty lady we wont be back anytime soon!! On the other hand we just adore Susan she was awesome!!! I am sad because even as noisy as it can be we just love the place, but that's the way it goes poor service you dont get my business. I just recently stayed here and absolutely loved it!! It is in a great location and is absolutely adorable, very beachy. It is more similar to a B&B but I really enjoyed our stay and our room (rooms are smaller than the average hotel room but still fairly spacious). My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night in February. We were celebrating Valentine's Day and having dinner at a restaurant called Shadowbrook, which is walking distance from the hotel. We wanted to enjoy a one-night vacation, so I booked us a room at the Capitola Hotel. Upon checking-in, the woman at the front desk was very helpful. Let us know what restaurants and wine bars were in the area. If we were staying more than one evening, we probably would have used her services more. Check-in was quick and easy, and within minutes we were in our room. I chose the Nevis room, which has a little ocean view. The room was small, but fit our needs perfectly. Nice, comfortable queen sized bed, big flat screen tv, and the bathroom was actually quite spacious. We were convinced we were the only ones staying in the small hotel that night. It was a mid-week stay, so it is quite possible. We didn't hear or see any other guests while we were there. In the morning, there was quite a bit of noise with all of the trucks and business associated with the restaurants across the street. The hotel does provide ear plugs in the room, but we had no need for them. Slightly annoying? Yes. But cause for an uproar or to be upset with the hotel itself? Nope! There are about 6 restaurant businesses directly across the street from the hotel, so mornings are bound to be busy. I enjoyed being up early and seeing the beach from my window. I wished we were staying more nights so I could wake up to that scene more often. :) I would recommend this hotel to people who don't mind a little ruckus in the morning (aka, people who can roll with the bunches and not have their panties in a twist!) My wife and I booked a room for two nights. A few nights before we were supposed to leave, all three of my kids and wife came down sick with bad cold symptoms. My wife called several days in advance to cancel. During this time of Covid, the last thing we wanted to do was bring our sick family to possibly risk getting others sick. My wife talked to a receptionist who was very nice, but the receptionist apologized and warned that the hotel was strict on refunds and to call the manager the next day. The next day I called to try and cancel with the manager, who was not having any of it from the start. I asked her why would she want me to bring my sick family in, and she had no response other than "it's not within the policy to allow a refund inside 7 days." No sympathy at all or understanding why we would want to cancel during a time like this. Every other hotel I've seen lately has been very lenient in their cancellations and refunds during this pandemic. As a first responder, I have surrounded myself with sick people every day which has put a huge strain on my family. Customer service is also a huge part of my job and I understand that it is my duty to try and help and accommodate people, just like the manager should have tried to do for us. I could not bring myself to show up at the hotel not knowing what illness my family has during this time of Covid. The manager did not care. The manager said the only thing she would allow me to do was change to a later date within 90 days, while still charging and keeping the money for the two night's stay. I told her that holding our money right now of over $800 was not going to work, and thought she was finally going to give me my refund. I got off the phone with the impression that she was not going to charge me. Instead, I saw my bank account was charged $438 for one night's stay. When I called back, she went on to say that was the amount we had to pay and that I am not even allowed to stay at the hotel in the future to use the night she charged me for. She was extremely rude from the beginning and told me that I was the one being rude. As a customer being ripped off, you could understand why someone would be upset about all of this. After this, my wife tried to call again to see if she could speak to someone to further clear things up, and no one has returned her call. I have never left a bad review before today and wish I didn't have to. With that being said, the concierge manager lacked complete compassion and decency. During this time with Covid, you'd think she'd be understanding and grateful that we weren't going to show up with a sick family. All she cared about was getting our money, and not how it affected us as customers. Again, I am so sad to have to even write this bad review. I just hope that for the future, the manager will try to be a little more understanding and empathetic to her customers. We know that Capitola Hotel is a small boutique hotel, and that is why we wanted to give them our business in the first place. We wanted to support them during all that's happening with the economy. However, the manager didn't show any remorse or care towards us at all about why we had to cancel. She just wanted to collect our money. We just returned from a lovely 2 night stay at the Capitola Hotel. I loved the location as it is centrally located to the beach, restaurants and shopping. Of course this means you will have street noise though it didn't bother us. Unfortunately, parking could be a problem as the hotel is located so close to the beach. We had no problem ourselves but can see it would be worse on weekends. The Hotel is small but very clean and cozy. The staff are warm and friendly. The breakfast buffet has several choices including fresh fruit. All in all a delightful place to stay. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights to celebrate a friend's 40th b-day party. We stayed in the Paradise room directly off the lobby. The room was spacious with a very large bathroom. The bed was surprisingly comfortable with great pillows! The staff was pleasant. Our only complaint was the noise that was heard being directly off the lobby. Our 2nd night we had to ask the night clerk at the desk to please turn down the movie that he was watching on his computer. He immediately apologized and turned it down. We enjoyed the fact that we were right off the main strip and so close to everything! We were given a parking pass so that we could park directly off the main street! Each morning we walked about a half block up to the Capitola coffee And patisserie. Here we enjoyed wonderful coffee and yummy cinnamon rolls and homemade blackberry raspberry bread pudding! We stayed in the Nevis room on a Thursday night in August. There was pretty much noise all night long outside, but we kept the window closed and slept okay. The room was small, very clean, but the location was super. You could stay here for days and not eat in the same restaurant twice. Across the street from the beach. Parking looks like it might be trouble on some days, but the staff at the hotel really helped us out. Wifi was good, I was on my company VPN for about 45 minutes without issue. read more

What's with the mediocre reviews?!?!? We stayed in the Grand Cayman room for our mom getaway weekend. We were checked in early, treated well and the room was very comfy. The downside is that it is indeed right on the main street. We stayed there over St. Patrick's Day weekend and there were A LOT of people out. We had a sound machine AND ear plugs in the room which made us a little nervous. We ended up being fine using a little white noise on the sound machine. We did enjoy ourselves sitting out on our patio watching the partiers stumble around all night:) I really liked that the employees were friendly and had advice on where to eat and not to eat. On a positive note the hotel is very cute & quaint, awesome location, very close to the beach, and right in the middle of everything, perfect for walking distance. They give you a free parking pass which is great cuz then you don't pay for parking. The beds were also very comfy, room was really clean, the hotel was very clean as well staff was really friendly and pleasant. The negative comments I would have is, room was on the small side, pics were deceiving in that. The AC unit started to leak water & it was loud which was inconvenient. There was also no mention of live music being played at the bar across the street and it was very loud until 11:30pm at night and if your someone who goes to bed early it makes it difficult to sleep. read more

WARNING! WARNING! Do not stay here! This is the absolute worst place to stay because the hotel makes a living off ripping you off. The rooms are beyond tiny, the service is absolutely horrible - the receptionist is extremely rude and has no customer service skills. I had always wanted to stay here due to the location and I wish I had believed the terrible reviews I had read. They will honestly keep your money, charge your card for erroneous charges, and have no remorse. I am also 100% certain that they went and rummaged through our room when we were out to dinner. If you prefer small, historic hotels in the heart of a charming village, you'll love Capitola Hotel. Maybe on the Riviera you could find a place like this, where you can walk from a night club to dinner to wine tasting to shopping to a quiet stroll on the beach, but hey, the airfare would cost lots more! I hosted a family reunion in Capitola Village recently. The "honeymoon" couples stayed at the Capitola Hotel, while the families with young children got vacation rentals. Clean hotel with a prime location in Capitola. Walls are thin so if you're doing something you don't want the world to hear, be quiet doing it ;) We stayed here while the hotel had some unexpected water heater issues so our experience was not optimal but not their fault. Although they did nothing during our stay to accommodate the lack of sleep we got there, they did offer a 15% discount after we reached out via email and posted a review on Yelp. read more

BEWARE- this hotel is wildly overpriced. The rooms are tiny, dated, and the hotel offers less than a basic motel 1/3 of its price. There is no breakfast, challenging parking, and the staff is super rude. They did not clean our room at all in between nights. We went here for five nights for our baby moon and our room was barely big enough for the queen bed, had no windows, no ventilation, ... and was over 300 a night. When we inquired about something better were told we can leave and get refunded so we happily booked another place. Upon moving our bags to an airbnb and checking out the woman at the front desk let me know( When I confirmed to be safe) that I may not get my money back and that I would have to take it up with expedia myself and hope for the best. She refused to give me her managers name and information. When I was able to get the manager on the phone the following week she offered me a small (very) discount to stay at the hotel again as compensation to offset the experience. Super bummed at the attempt to make it right and for the money I will never get back for a crappy stay. read more

We just spent the weekend at the Capitola Hotel for the annual Labor Day Begonia Festival. I have nothing but the best things to say about this hotel and the staff. I read the less positive reviews about this hotel and how noisy it is but if you are booking a room here you are probably wanting to be in the middle of the action and nightly partying. This hotel is located directly across the street from Margaritaville, The Fog Bank and Zelda's. We stayed in the "Martinique" Room which was beautifully decorated with very tasteful furniture, bedding and pictures. The walls were painted in a very calming sea blue and tan with crown molding. Our room was very quiet that night considering the huge parties going on across the street. The bathroom was spacious with beautiful tile and a shower with dual shower heads. Everything was very modern and IMMACULATE!!! Every corner was clean and not a speck of dust or dirt anywhere. This is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever been to and I've been to many. The staff was incredible from our first call to check out. They helped us get our parking taken care of, had coffee set up in the morning and gave us coupons for free breakfast at the corner restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel and we'll definitely be staying here again next year! read more

Me and my family spent last night at this lovely, super clean and comfortable hotel and I can only express great and positive thoughts about it. Bed were fantastic and breakfast was an absolute surprise: fresh italian bread, delicious fruit and jam , a lemon pie to die for. I was planning B -Day vacation here for awhile. I booked a reservation a month in advance and was told I was to put a deposit down at check in which I had no problem with. With out my consent someone at the Hotel put the hold on my CC 27 days prior to check-in, which really messed up my bank account and had several checks bounce because of there mistake. They real should not have their kids answer the phone and do the bookings, should be a trained adult. After all the frustration of being on the phone all day to my creditors and bank and CC company. Please don't stay here there are plenty of other nicer Hotels in Capitola. Watch out for your CC people. I reached out to them with a reasonable offer for two nights they simple flat out refused and kind of compensation maybe 10% which doesn't cover my bank fee's and late fee's. We love this little place. They also have one pet friendly room. We stayed on a weekday and the weather was perfect. Reasonable rates for being so close to the beach. The room was clean and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. They also put out a very good breakfast spread. A short walk to the beach and wharf is convenient. We will return. read more
