Best Dentist for your kiddos in Santa Cruz. Dr. Seth and his staff are always welcoming and make the trip to the dentist is as comfortable and fun as possible. They explain each step they are going to take so their are no surprises. The office is clean and has state of the art equipment. They have TVs on the ceilings to keep the kids happy and distracted while the cleanings are done. FABULOUS experience. I think that I was more nervous than my 3yo! However, from the moment we walked in, I knew everything would be fine. The front desk girls were adorable, kind and friendly to my son and he was instantly at ease. Dr. Seth couldn't have been more amazing. He obviously loves what he does, practices what he preaches (he was so human about his own kiddos!) and was incredibly knowledgeable. As a physician I truly appreciated all of the info from "ok" snacks to how to floss to how to prevent issues down the line. The man gives you his cell phone number !? If that doesn't make you feel comfortable, I don't know what else could! My son loved it and talked about it all day...I'm sure getting him back to the dentist will never be an issue and wahoo, getting him to brush was extra easy tonight bc he was excited to show us what Dr. Seth taught him. Dr Seth is the best. Not that I have much to compare to... But, my daughter just had her first Dentist appt and he kept her at ease. He applied the tools to her hand to feel their motion prior to using. Also, he explained everything to my husband and I thoroughly. Super friendly and knowledgeable dental and reception staff, I think both staff members that helped me and my five year old today were named Michelle and they were awesome! Dr. Reder is super smart and personable with the kids, parents, and staff members which is so hard to find nowadays. The practice accepted my dental insurance as was even in-network! During checkout the front desk Michelle was able easily able to find a follow up appointment and ensured that our insurance was billed for today's services and that they all seemed to be covered by my plan. I love this office from the point you walk in to being greeted by the wonderful staff and seeing Dr. Reder he worked on my daughter she needed a filling he is good about explaining the situation and how we can fix it. My daughter was not scared she understood everything and wanted to go forward I was a bit nervous just because hey it was her first filling however they are amazing they made everything so smooth. To the person who wrote about the delta issue just a little heads up Delta Dental has and is being dropped by alot of dentists in the area its not fair to say that they dont know what they are doing insurance wise it would be a great idea to call ur insurance and get informed. Just took my daughter in for her first visit at age 2.5. This place is awesome! I would give more stars if I could. All the staff members are very friendly, energetic, and kind. Dr. Reder was silly and playful (in a very approachable, professional way) with my daughter. It was clear to me that he was prepared for the visit and took the time to read the pre-appointment medical info that I filled out online. He was extremely informative and really fosters a shared-decision making approach to care. After the visit, my daughter said, "I like Dr. Seth." Dr. Seth is a new dentist for us, after having visited a few different ones in the area. We decided to go with Dr. Seth when we realized that the tooth extractions our son needed was causing him a lot of anxiety, and we knew this office used nitrous and other methods to relax kids. We went in and were out in about a half hour, with practically zero fuss. I have to say that I was actually amazed. It went better than I could have possibly imagined. My son didn't realize that a needle had ever even been used and didn't believe me afterwards when I told him that they did. The team was friendly and gentle, and they have a wonderful understanding and application of not just pediatric dentistry, but the psychology of it, too, which is equally as important. My son is looking forward to his cleaning in a couple of months. read more

We absolutely love Dr. Reder and his staff! My three kids (now 5, 8, and 11) have been seeing them for about 4 years and they love going to the dentist. He always has my family's best interest at heart... which has not been my experience with past dentists. You can tell he actually cares about each kid and what is the right fit for them. What a relief it was to find this place! My daughter is in need of some pretty extensive dental work that includes crowns. This came as a big shock to us since we thought our dental regimen of brushing twice a day was good. I visited another pediatric dentist who made me feel super terrible as a mother and the amount of dental anxiety he gave me was enough to make me never want to go to a dentist again with her. That would not be a good solution. Anyway, at Capitola Kids Dentistry they use White Zirconia Crowns and white fillings so once the work is done she will look good as new and we can make a fresh start with our new dental care routine. The office staff is so friendly! The doctor is a super chill surfer dude type who immediately knew how to make my daughter comfortable which made me feel a lot more relaxed. I highly recommend this place and will do so for a long time. read more

I took my 3 year old to the dentist for his first appointment ever today. Everyone was so nice! The staff in the waiting room interacted with him while he played with all of the toys. Dr. Seth introduced himself before we even went back to the room. The whole experience was great. They gave him a stuffed animal (with teeth, of course) to hold and explained what they would be doing the whole time. They also have a tv screen on the ceiling which made the cleaning a breeze. My son didn't want to leave when it was over and has been talking about going to the dentist all afternoon. While we were there, I appreciated that they weren't trying to push extra add ons like some dentists (expensive x rays, $300 toothbrushes, veneers for babies, etc). My only complaint is that they don't take adults! read more
