Al Capone style restaurant Weekends they have some type of shows in front bar Both meals were special of the day Filet's tender and cooked as wished Chicken was very tender and tasty Service was good Not a fancy place but it's a local gem Seen other dishes go Parmesan dishes were big I asked the table and they said they were great Only thing that was not as food was dessert I am guessing they bring in Pistachio cake had no pistachio taste in our opinion Tiramisu was a little dry Only reason I gave a 4 but I would go again

I was once "that guy." The one who stood is a slow-moving line running around the block, just because I wanted to try a pop-up at a brewery. The food was great, but not mind-blowing. I'd waited at least 2+ hours just because I really wanted to see what it was all about. Apparently, so did everyone else in line. Enter Capone's - a place that sits on the polar opposite of whatever that pop-up was. It feels like the kind of place designed for regulars who've been coming here for decades. I get the impression people come here not because the food or service is in anyway remarkable, but because it is their third place. A place where they've been dancing, had a many-a-beer with many-a-friend, and maybe had a date or three. While we were in no way treated as outsiders or unwelcome, there is nothing even close to remarkable or noteworthy about this place. Perhaps only because there is no associated sentimental value. I had the opportunity to try their Lasagna Bolognese. The lasagna was cooked well, with some ricotta between the layers, and had some tomato sauce and an ample amount of protein added up top and around. However, I think this what worked against it. While there were layers of pasta and ricotta, the tomato and meat were added as a finishing element, rather than being integrated into the lasagna proper. Just a little more cheese would have been nice, too. Finally, When it comes to the service, it was friendly, and the food came our fairly fast. However, at the same time I wish it were a touch more attentive. Their prices are average, and the location is clean, but the dining room needs some sunlight in my opinion. So, we are left with an okay dining experience. There was nothing to detract me from coming again, but at the same time, there was nothing to draw me into a return visit.

What an amazing place!! We walked in and we were not quite sure but wow! OMG talk about flavorful Italian food! We were in the area for a convention and looking for some place close and local so we Yelp'd checked out the menu and what caught our eye, "The Balls" a meatball appetizer. So in the car we jumped and headed off to dinner! Staff was warm and friendly. They were very busy but we were seated promptly! Food was delicious and plentiful!! If I am back in the area I am so going back!! I loved the retro speak easy vibe about the place it was so fun!

Capone's Restaurant & Lounge 147 Summit St, Peabody https://caponesdining.com/ 978-977-0520 This place hasn't missed a beat! We both had the $13.95 #ThrowbackThursday lasagna special and it was outstanding (added the chicken orzo soup for $1)! I don't eat a lot of lasagna but I can't imagine that anyone offers a bigger, better tasting serving than Capone's. Our server, Lisa, was excellent. Prompt, courteous, and friendly throughout the entire visit. She made us feel right home and I was told that she makes a great Espresso martini.

I'll start by saying, I will be back. I am in the area for a few days and potentially until Christmas for work and having a $50 a day credit for food I wanted to start by spoiling myself on day one and did I ever! Found this via yelp and the pictures of the food is what sold me on what I wanted to have for dinner. The way the gps took me into the parking lot was confusing but figured it out. My co-worker and I could hear the music from outside which really didn't matter but was happy to see it was a live band and they did a heck of a job with the entertainment. Soup of the day was chicken noodle and it was one heck of a cup of soup. The fresh vegetables with the broth was just superb, I wish I had eaten it without the crackers. Would have also been happy eating another three cups too. The lasagna was orgasmic, the home made noodles is just the beginning. The meat sauce made every bite worth wile and I am happy I had bread to clean up my plate with. I tried a bite of my co-workers chicken parm and that was equally delicious. Two big fat pieces of chicken with a side of pasta was too filling and he had to take the rest home. For dessert.... Spumoni Bomba.... this was just icing on the cake. Best bang for your buck dessert I have eaten all year. The picture does no justice. This is something you need to experience for your self. This is clearly not a hidden gem with how packed it was at 9:00 on a Thursday in the bar area, dining room had plenty of seats. Definitely an older crowd place and was happy to see people up dancing to the live music. I look forward to coming back sooner than later.

Capone's is your typical, old-school Italian-American red sauce restaurant and I love it. I hadn't been in years until recently, and forget how good it is. It can get busy, but the service is always friendly, and our most recent server, Nicole, was fantastic. The prices are super reasonable, especially because you can get two to three meals from each entree. I always get either of two dishes: chicken, broccoli, and ziti or eggplant parmigiana. The dishes are huge and each entree comes with your choice of salad or soup, plus scala bread for the table. The bread is delicious and the salads are fresh and crisp. Both dishes are huge. The ziti is addictively good--they might put crack in the sauce. And the eggplant is very flavorful. If you are looking for a good deal and a good meal, Capone's is your place.

We are going to an evening birthday party in Marblehead and decided to have an early dinner and stay overnight in Peabody. We found Capone's on the Marriott website and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did. We got greeted and seated quickly by the professional staff up front and then ended friendly and attentive wait service. The bread was a delicious and light Italian bread with sesame seeds that is light and airy, but also addictive! My guests both had the fettuccine Alfredo that had that perfect Alfredo sauce that was the right clingy consistency without being thick-- they loved it. I decided to have that lasagna with the bolognese sauce, even though the waitress warned me that it was a big portion-- she was not kidding! The flavors of the ricotta and the bolognese were amazing! We've already decided that we will come back soon and bring more family members!

I have been to Capone's on a few different occasions in the evenings to watch a friends band perform. I was surprised to see that they have a good sized bar, dance floor and stage. On one of my visits, the kitchen was still open so I was able to try something. They specialize in Italian, it was late so I decided to keep it on the lighter side so I decided to order the meatballs. They arrived promptly at my table, served in a black iron skillet two good sized balls covered in cheese and sauce accompanied with 2 pieces of garlic bread (toasted). The meatballs had a great texture and the correct amount of spice. The sauce a tad mild, but yet tasty. The cheese was melted and stringy. The garlic bread had a good amount of butter and garlic and just the right amount of crunch. I ordered a beer, so I did not have an opportunity to try the mixed drinks, but my friends seemed to be very happy with theirs. Our waitress was very polite and provided great service. I give Capone's Restaurant and Lounge a Solid 4 Stars.

French inspired drinks and food were fantastic and interesting. The French 75 menu was so interesting-- choose your flavor and your bubbles. I tried two, the classic with rosé was so pretty, and the honey lavender with base level champagne was delicious. The raw oysters were to die for! Perfect little pop of acidity with other flavors delicately added and perfectly balanced. The oysters Rockefeller were also perfectly delicious. The foie gras is not something I would normally eat, but my boyfriend loves that stuff so we went with it. I enjoyed it more than he did. It was not a classic foie gras, it was smoother with a creamier texture and more buttery flavor. Eating it with the fig jam and "light as clouds" toast made it absolutely delicious! I enjoyed every minute and mouthful--would definitely seek this place out again even though I live an hour away! We enjoyed ourselves too much to take pictures!

All Souls Lounge in Salem was the perfect sanctuary. It's a small, intimate spot that fills up fast, if you don't get there early, you'll be left haunting the sidewalk waiting for a table. Luckily, they offer outdoor seating, which was great for cooling off after spending two hours surrounded by ceremonial candles. The service was remarkably fast for a packed house. The cocktails were delicious and flavorful, though if you're looking to banish your inner demons in one sip, note that they aren't the absolute strongest in town. What really stole the show, however, was the food menu: they have a massive selection of gourmet grilled cheeses and hot dogs. Speaking of which: after finishing my meal, I went home inspired to attempt another quick ritual. I was trying to summon an ancient Hot Dog Spirit to bless my midnight snack cravings, but I mangled the Latin incantation and accidentally conjured a Grilled Cheese Ghost instead. Now my apartment smells like toasted sourdough, and there is a glowing ectoplasmic slice of melted cheddar hovering over my couch. Overall, a fantastic spot to refuel whether you're a local, a tourist, or just an exhausted practitioner of the dark arts. Highly recommend!

We arrived just after our friends who advised they had already ordered their drinks. Our waitress arrived promptly and took our drink order and then vanished. No drinks for quite some time. A manager came over to ask if anybody had visited us, apologized for the delay, and returned with our drinks. I'm estimating it was a bit over 30 minutes or so before drinks arrived. Our waitress did return, apologized and took our food order. I wasn't so sure about ordering sushi, but glad we did. The maki we tried were very good, fresh and beautifully presented. A great start. We switched gears for our entree and went with a parpadelle bolognese. A nice generous portion that was as good as some of the Italian spots in the area. Our friends also enjoyed their dishes. Portions were generous and prices were reasonable. I would easily have given 4 stars, but the service needs improvement. You would need to plan to spend at least a couple of hours for a lunch. In our case it was not a big deal as we were enjoying time with friends, but I can understand the other negative reviews now. We do plan to return to work our way deeper into the menu, and hope they will have more staff to help with the front of the house.
